OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW

RETURN TO AUSTRALIA IN SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER

PERFORMING “BLONDE ON BLONDE”

WITH SPECIAL GUEST VALERIE JUNE

Acclaimed Statesiders OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW will return to Australia for the first time in eight years to play a string of East Coast dates this September and October, in addition to their already-announced performance at the Caloundra Music Festival. On their Australian shows, Old Crow Medicine Show will pay tribute to their music icon, Bob Dylan, by playing his seminal 1966 album, Blonde On Blonde, in full.

Hailing from the Birthplace of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Memphian and fellow Tennessean VALERIE JUNE, who has shared the stage with the likes of Sharon Jones, Sturgill Simpson, Jake Bugg and more, will join Old Crow Medicine Show on their Australian run, rounding out an authentic ‘Taste of Americana’ double-bill for local audiences.

Old Crow Medicine Show and the beguiling Valerie June promise to deliver a night of authentic Tennessee tunes when they touch down in Australia later this year, traversing country, blues, roots and more, with a little bit of soul and gospel thrown in for good measure.

The Crow Medicine was flowing in Salem last night and the crowd loved it. With a guest drummer who pounded out them cool beats, OCMS was fantastic, as usual. Southwest Virginia loves you guys........come back and see us soon, ya hear

First time seeing OCMS. Been a fan for a few years, and I have their 3 latest albums. Concert was awesome. I knew almost every song, and was able to sing along. Great crowd. Much more high energy than I was expecting. I'd see 'em 100 times over if I could

Took my parents for their anniversary and we had a great time! Old Crow is one of the best live shows I have ever seen -- so high energy! Their musicianship and performance was great.

  • Twin Cities Audience Dazzles Old Crow

by FiddlerBill on 11/9/09State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

While short of a full house, you'd never know it from the more than enthusiastic admirers of Old Crow. The drinks were flowing both before, during the show and intermission, but the crowd was not rowdy--just overflowing with appreciation, an inability to keep seated, and a compulsion to dance in front of their seats. Indeed, the audience (consisting of mostly a youthful crowd in their 20's to early 40's) remained standing for most of the show. Members of Old Crow were nothing short of amazed by their enthusiastic Twin Cities reception. Old Crow's performance was a polished, high energy presentation of their blue grass base crossed with a generous dash of soft rock, contemporary music. At times the volume of their performance was slightly excessive, but nowhere near what one might experience at a rock concert. The band was spurred on by their enthusiastic audience to bend over backwards to extend their appreciation and please them.

  • All Energy!

by Billy82 on 11/9/09HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des MoinesRating: 4 out of 5

The band came alive the second they stepped out on stage. It was non-stop music and energy for the better part of 2.5 hours. At times I couldn't really hear any lyrics or any individual instruments, but overall they put on a great show that was super fun to be at. The harmonica player kept trying to work in local references but he kept getting them wrong, so he should have just stopped trying.

  • Amazing

  • Old Crow rocked the house!!!!!

by KLAND on 11/8/09HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

Best $30.00 I have ever spent! Old Crow is definately not getting the fame they deserve! From start to finish they kept the crowd moving. Very talanted musicians and very original music. Cant wait to see them in the area again! Also our first time at Hoyt Sherman and was awed by the grandeur and comfort of this venue!

  • OCMS is the best

We'v seen them at Prairie Home Companion - no comparison. We weren't in love with the new CD until we heard them actually sing it. Wow.

  • ocms was mutual love -est

by artist70 on 11/7/09HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

Really great show, great energy, and performance. The crowd was rowdy and Old Crow at one point made it known that they really appreciated the crowd, that they didnt get "this" every night and that they wanted to play here (at Hoyt Sherman) again and again. Mutual love-fest. They played for about 21/2 hrs changed up the pace at times. Willie Watson broke three strings which he would immediately change and tune before the next verse of the same song(amazing), Ketch Secor went through fiddle bows like butter. They definitely jammed!

  • by Anonymous on 11/6/09Liberty Hall - LawrenceRating: 5 out of 5

As always the OCMS experience was amazing! It's obvious that they have a great time together and their energy really transfers to the crowd. As long as they keep playing, I'll be there.

  • Old Crow rocked out

    by DollyFAN09 on 11/6/09Liberty Hall - LawrenceRating: 5 out of 5

Show was great! The break in the middle was awesome--they came out and played a second set. We didnt have to listen to some terrible opening act--they started right at 8. It was awesome. Can't wait for them to come back again!

I have seen Old Crow severals times and they always put on a great show, but last night was the best ever. They truly outdid themselves. Wish they would come to central Kansas and more often.
