OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW

RETURN TO AUSTRALIA IN SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER

PERFORMING “BLONDE ON BLONDE”

WITH SPECIAL GUEST VALERIE JUNE

Acclaimed Statesiders OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW will return to Australia for the first time in eight years to play a string of East Coast dates this September and October, in addition to their already-announced performance at the Caloundra Music Festival. On their Australian shows, Old Crow Medicine Show will pay tribute to their music icon, Bob Dylan, by playing his seminal 1966 album, Blonde On Blonde, in full.

Hailing from the Birthplace of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Memphian and fellow Tennessean VALERIE JUNE, who has shared the stage with the likes of Sharon Jones, Sturgill Simpson, Jake Bugg and more, will join Old Crow Medicine Show on their Australian run, rounding out an authentic ‘Taste of Americana’ double-bill for local audiences.

Old Crow Medicine Show and the beguiling Valerie June promise to deliver a night of authentic Tennessee tunes when they touch down in Australia later this year, traversing country, blues, roots and more, with a little bit of soul and gospel thrown in for good measure.

  • OCMS put on a fantastic show!!

by arnist on 11/20/09Vic Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The band came out strong right from the start, with some crowd pleasing fiddle and guitar tunes. They played almost all of the favorites and hit all of the harmonies beautifully. The versatility of the band members (switching instruments) was impressive.

Great band to see live! They played those instruments like there was no tomorrow. The VIC as always did not disappoint. Great accoustics and the crowd singing along made it that much more fun! Would definitely see them again! Good luck on your next show.

Seen these guys a couple times in the past and each time is better than the last. Had a blast, but wished more people were in the mood to dance and do a little jig.

Spectacular show. Lots of energy from the crowd and OCMS. Since it was my first OCMS concert, I have nothing to compare it with, but it was good enough to make me want to see them again as soon as possible.

  • VERY HIGH ENERGY SHOW!!!

I was at this show. I was the first of two nights in a ROW. Absolutely amazing. The energy level of this show will not be imitated by no one of any genre.

High energy, great lyrics, best concert I have seen.

  • Old Crow kicked some Kalamazoo butt.

by Mojoryzin on 11/19/09State Theatre, Kalamazoo - KalamazooRating: 5 out of 5

The crowd was unruly, drunk and obnoxious. You think I say that like it's a bad thing but it wasn't. It was a party from start to finish (except for the 15 minute set break). We even had a guy get tackled because he hopped on the stage and started dancing. Security seemed a bit overwhelmed. I don't think they were expecting such rambunctious behavior. Ketch said he was at the Kzoo Public Library earlier and I believe him. He had the geography of Michigan down pat and he wasn't afraid to show it. That's always a good way to pull in an audience, mentioning their hometowns like you've lived there all your life. Good showmanship. The harmonies were rough and perfect at the same time. O.C.M.S. could arguably be one of the best party bands of all time. We only sat twice, when we got there and during the set break. I must be getting old because I needed that break too. clocked in at about 2 1/2 hours.

  • O.C.M.S - not to be missed

by Lutzy on 11/19/09State Theatre, Kalamazoo - KalamazooRating: 5 out of 5

For anyone who has a chance to catch O.C.M.S you will not be disappointed. The high energy, multi instrument band will be a memorable show for all. They left it all up on the stage. With a small intermission both acts were filled with sounds of string bass, banjo, and the amazing rifts of harmonica.

  • True artist!
