OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW

RETURN TO AUSTRALIA IN SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER

PERFORMING “BLONDE ON BLONDE”

WITH SPECIAL GUEST VALERIE JUNE

Acclaimed Statesiders OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW will return to Australia for the first time in eight years to play a string of East Coast dates this September and October, in addition to their already-announced performance at the Caloundra Music Festival. On their Australian shows, Old Crow Medicine Show will pay tribute to their music icon, Bob Dylan, by playing his seminal 1966 album, Blonde On Blonde, in full.

Hailing from the Birthplace of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Memphian and fellow Tennessean VALERIE JUNE, who has shared the stage with the likes of Sharon Jones, Sturgill Simpson, Jake Bugg and more, will join Old Crow Medicine Show on their Australian run, rounding out an authentic ‘Taste of Americana’ double-bill for local audiences.

Old Crow Medicine Show and the beguiling Valerie June promise to deliver a night of authentic Tennessee tunes when they touch down in Australia later this year, traversing country, blues, roots and more, with a little bit of soul and gospel thrown in for good measure.

  • OLD CROW A TRAIN WRECK

by MEONA on 1/1/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 2 out of 5

The ppening portion of this show was great with Chuck Mead and several members of Old Crow Medicine Show assisting in the great variery of Chuck's great collection of music he has performed recently and in the past. After a lenghthy un-necessary 30 minute break between bands Old Crow Medicine Show took the stage. The entire audience stood up and continued standing through out the rest of the show. People were talking very loudly and calling their friends on cell phones throughout the auditorium talking very loudly due to not being able to be heard over the music..These conditions got worse as the night wore on. After having endured this for an hour, I left the auditorium and listened to the remainder of the show on the radio as it was being broadcast on WSM. The Music was great, but trying to see or hear on site was wasa hard task to endure.

  • An evening well spent!

by kzpeer on 1/1/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen a bunch of shows at the Ryman Auditorium, but I don't recall a better one in recent memory. The place was about to bust at the seams, the crowd stood as Old Crow delivered the sweet elixir to remember a year past and a new one coming down the highway. It's simply one of the best shows I have ever seen. If you haven't seen an Old Crow show, do it as soon as possible!

  • OCMS great

by OCMSrules on 11/28/09Lovett Auditorium - MurrayRating: 4 out of 5

Old Crow put on a great show as usual. The venue left a lot to be desired. The second the lights dimmed, dozens of people rushed to the front of the stage and STAYED THERE THE ENTIRE CONCERT! It's a shame that Lovett Auditorium allowed this to happen. The people who rushed to the stage were nothing but selfish and disrespectful to everyone at the show!

  • First of Many

by DerekSL on 11/24/09Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - MorgantownRating: 5 out of 5

Old Crow puts on one hell of a show and I would definitely recommend it to any fan of their music. I know that I'll be going to see them again at the very next opportunity I have to do so.

  • awesome bad - bad sound guys

by typingmonkey on 11/23/09Michigan Theater - Ann ArborRating: 4 out of 5

Old Crow are always incredibly energetic and magnetic performers. The harmonies are gorgeous, the musicianship of the frontmen superb, but the Michigan Theater may not have been the best venue for them for some reason. It was too quiet and you couldn't hear the rest of the band very well at all. Not sure who was responsible for the mixing, but it lacked. I saw them at the Hill for the Folk Fest in January and they brought the house down.

Old Crow put on a good show, the venue was small and great.

Wonderful, wonderful show; great venue (acoustics especially). This band is a must regardless of venue, time, etc.

OCMS was great! Their music is dynamic and energetic!

Very energetic, great talent, band did a great job of involving the audience

  • terrible vocals

by bluegrasschick on 11/22/09Lovett Auditorium - MurrayRating: 2 out of 5

Great instrumentalists but the vocal quality was terrible. Couldn't understand most of the words to the songs, a shame because their songs for the most part have interesting lyrics. I am wondering if the problem was with the sound system and the venue, because the vocal sound quality was a litte bit better the second set.

  • Old Crow Medicine Show never fails to deliver

by lanabraz on 11/22/09Lovett Auditorium - MurrayRating: 5 out of 5

Their show is always the best. Their energy and talent fills the room with excitement. The audience gave them a KY welcome that they won't soon forget also. Their type of "Rock and Roll meets Old Time String Band" music just feels good and nobody can do it any better than Old Crow. They are an American treasure and I will see them whenever I get the chance.

  • Old Crow ROCKS Ann Arbor

by rostie on 11/22/09Michigan Theater - Ann ArborRating: 5 out of 5

I can't say enough about how great this concert was, the band ROCKED! The venue was great! But, the crowd sucked! The concert started 15 minutes late and still people came walking in late. After it started it seemed everyone had a reason to leave their seats. Up, down, etc. After the break again, people filtering in late. Is this the way Ann Arbor patrons act? Old Crow keep it up guys you are great! Ann Arbor, get some manners

Not only did I get to sit next to Redd from "That 70's Show," but then ED HELMS came out and played with the band. Best OCMS show yet!

  • Ed Helms was an awesome surprise

    by Dilby1096 on 11/21/09Michigan Theater - Ann ArborRating: 5 out of 5

Crow rocked as usual, and it was nice to see them play an extended set beyond what I had previously seen at folk/music festivals. You can truly see their appreciation for their fan base in their interactions and departure from the stage at the end of the night. Bringing out Ed Helms as their special guest was an added bonus.

  • Old Crow was great

by Browni on 11/21/09Michigan Theater - Ann ArborRating: 5 out of 5

The band was truly outstanding. They are more than a blue grass band. Ed Helms was their special guest artist.
