OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW

RETURN TO AUSTRALIA IN SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER

PERFORMING “BLONDE ON BLONDE”

WITH SPECIAL GUEST VALERIE JUNE

Acclaimed Statesiders OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW will return to Australia for the first time in eight years to play a string of East Coast dates this September and October, in addition to their already-announced performance at the Caloundra Music Festival. On their Australian shows, Old Crow Medicine Show will pay tribute to their music icon, Bob Dylan, by playing his seminal 1966 album, Blonde On Blonde, in full.

Hailing from the Birthplace of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Memphian and fellow Tennessean VALERIE JUNE, who has shared the stage with the likes of Sharon Jones, Sturgill Simpson, Jake Bugg and more, will join Old Crow Medicine Show on their Australian run, rounding out an authentic ‘Taste of Americana’ double-bill for local audiences.

Old Crow Medicine Show and the beguiling Valerie June promise to deliver a night of authentic Tennessee tunes when they touch down in Australia later this year, traversing country, blues, roots and more, with a little bit of soul and gospel thrown in for good measure.

  • INCREDIBLE

by OROB on 1/4/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This was a trifecta of AMAZINGNESS! OCMS+The Ryman+NYE= A simply unforgettable experience. The energy level was higher than any other show I've been to, and the quality of the show was definitely a 10!

  • Honky Tonk New Years!

by BetsyJean on 1/4/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The boys were in good spirits and even jammed out on a few tunes. Midnight was followed by a balloon drop onstage and a very thrown together version of Auld Lang Syne. They seemed distracted by the balloons, but so was I!! The culmination was an a capella version of Blue Moon to commemorate the Full Blue Moon outside, Ketch was the low, low bass and seemed to loose most of his clothing throughout the show! All in all a Grand Ole time!

The show was one of the best yet. Great sound and feel. It would be a great show for a live album.

  • Old Crow Medicine Show- Best Band in the World

by MDWM on 1/4/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

My husband and I, some friends and our 3 year old son had a wonderful time at the OCMS New Years eve concert although I would not have expected anything less. Our son knows all the songs, almost word for word, and kept the surrounding audience entertained with calling out the song title after the first bar. With Humdinger, Pretty Little Girl, Mary's Kitchen and Wagon Wheel on his list of favorites he was not disappointed. Not for the first time OCMS made me want to quit my day job and spend a year following them around on tour with our family. A New Zealander, I was tossing up whether to move back to NZ because I was not sure I could stand life without their physical musical presence. Apparently they go on tour to New Zealand in March so I need to plan strategy. Our friends and family have OCMS CD's and DVD's as gifts and I want them to block book the real thing for everyone I know.

  • WONDERFUL NYE SHOW!!!! Just a little short...

by KassidyElvis on 1/4/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

LOVED OCMS! Have seen them a few times and always really enjoy them. This show was no different! Just wonderful! We drove down to Nashville for the show from NJ. The Ryman Auditorium (original Gran d Ole Opry) is a fantastic venue. I do wish they had played a little longer. The NYE show was only 2 hours which is what they play when I have seen them on a random night in NY. Fine for a normal concert but expected a little bit of a longer show on NYE. Awesome set list though, great opener, fabulous energy, altogether a wonderful amazing fabulous way to spend NYE! We love you OCMS!

  • New Years Eve show was great!

by OCMSFanLP on 1/4/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen approximately 10 OCMS shows in the past 15 months. All were good. This one was the best by far!

  • Old Crow was amazing energy!

  • New Year's in Nashville

by sterlingea on 1/4/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I know OCMS are great musicians, but they really showed their spirit and love of music for everyone at the Ryman on New Year's Eve. It was a really wonderful concert... with acapella of Blue Moon, and jammin with Chuck Mead. Hands down, best show I have ever seen.

  • OCMS at their best!

    by nuscha247 on 1/4/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

There was nothing wrong about this concert!! What a perfect way to ring in the new year! They gave a stellar performance and made it seem as we were super important to them! That really made the concert! If you haven't seen them in concert yet... don't wait another minute! I will never miss an OCMS concert if they are anywhere close to the Atlanta/Nashville area!

  • Energy

by Anonymous on 1/4/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

From afe 12 to 70, everyone was having a blast. The energy of the show is incredible and OCMS came back out (at the reguest of the fans) and played an additional hour at least. It was truly one of the best shows I have been to.

  • Best show ever!!!

by Anonymous on 1/4/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I had never seen OCMS, and never been to the Ryman. The were both unbelievable! OCMS put on an amazing show. I can't believe those guys have so much energy!!!

  • New Years Eve with Old Crow

by OldLongHairedHippie on 1/3/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

The guys gave us a long high energy show. At the first of the show I was afraid they had forgotton the old time string music that got them to the Ryman in the first place, but they settled back into it and put on a great concert.

  • Tell It To Me - ringing out '09 was great

    by gypsygirl09 on 1/3/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Both OCMS and Chuck Mead brought it on New Year's Eve - the high-energy show was nothing short of awesome!! Everyone - the band and the audience - seemed to be having a great time. You know when the band is having a good time, the show will be extra special!

  • OCMS has a new fan!

    by bluesfan53 on 1/3/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

What a perfect way to start a new decade! The crowd's energy matched the band's and the Ryman rocked. Chuck Mead kicked things off and got everyone up and moving and when OCMS hit the stage there were minor explosions of energy everywhere. Great evening to share with family and friends.

  • Old Crow Medicine Show rocked the new year!

Great show in a great venue. Best way to start the new year!

  • Blown Away by Old Crow

by amocat on 1/1/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Once again, Old Crow put on an awesome show. This was my 4th time seeing them in concert and I loved it just as much as the last. Was blown away by their version of Blue Moon and ringing in the new year with them. Crowd was good and the venue very nostalgic.

  • OCMS funkin rocked

by KingHarvest on 1/1/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Pretty good stuff. My first time seeing these guys and they rocked Nashville pretty hard.

  • Crowing about Old Crow Medicine Show

by sukiebelle on 1/1/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Any chance to see Old Crow, I take it! But when they are at the Ryman, it is a MUST SEE event! I was delighted to be able to ring in the New Year with them and my fellow crows! It was a special night...a blue moon, a new year, to be part of a live podcast! The band always gives their heart and soul with each performance and have such an appreciation for the music and their fans. They may be based in a string band format, but they elevate it to another level and take it to the limit! Chuck Meade opened the evening and set the tone for a good time! He and OCMS shared their sets with each other...the best times are had when musician's play off of each other and let the music flow. Great time @ the Ryman!!

  • OCMS brings out the Crow in all the Crowd!

by AnnaMaryTN on 1/1/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This was my fifth OCMS concert to attend, all of which have been memorable and more than worth the cost of the ticket. OCMS appears to enjoy performing as much as the audience enjoys being entertained. Therefore, the energy multiplies, making every second exponentially more kinetic than the one before. Experiencing OCMS at the historic Ryman Auditorium on NYE, under a Blue Moon was an incredible way to welcome a new decade! The concert brought out the Crow in all the Crowd!

  • OCMS...good times
