OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW
RETURN TO AUSTRALIA IN SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER
PERFORMING “BLONDE ON BLONDE”
WITH SPECIAL GUEST VALERIE JUNE
Acclaimed Statesiders OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW will return to Australia for the first time in eight years to play a string of East Coast dates this September and October, in addition to their already-announced performance at the Caloundra Music Festival. On their Australian shows, Old Crow Medicine Show will pay tribute to their music icon, Bob Dylan, by playing his seminal 1966 album, Blonde On Blonde, in full.
Hailing from the Birthplace of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Memphian and fellow Tennessean VALERIE JUNE, who has shared the stage with the likes of Sharon Jones, Sturgill Simpson, Jake Bugg and more, will join Old Crow Medicine Show on their Australian run, rounding out an authentic ‘Taste of Americana’ double-bill for local audiences.
Old Crow Medicine Show and the beguiling Valerie June promise to deliver a night of authentic Tennessee tunes when they touch down in Australia later this year, traversing country, blues, roots and more, with a little bit of soul and gospel thrown in for good measure.
They put on a great show! Best show I have seen in years!
We loved it! What great energy and talent! Thank you!
We were fortunate to get really good tickets for this show. Even though we were off to the side, we were only a few rows back. We were even able to walk up front and stand in front of the stage for the last few songs. This was the first time we had seen Old Crow Medicine Show and the did not disappoint!! Such a lively entertaining show! Even if you don't know/love their music, I don't see how you couldn't enjoy their concert. Would love to see them again!
Way too loud, couldn't understand the words of most of the numbers. The performers were very active and engaging. I think it was a good choice for a slightly younger group, like the 40-50's Many of them were swaying, dancing and up to the music.
Great entertainment. Every genre of music. Great talent and use of every instrument needed in a country / blue grass band.
We had really high hopes for this concert-we had checked the group out by watching videos of them and listening to their songs and decided they were a group we would like. So disappointing when they came on stage with the loud noise, yelling (not singing) and jumping around--couldn't distinguish instruments or vocals--all just ran together as noise. If it hadn't been so loud would have been better and tolerable. We walked out very disappointed after 20 minutes. Don't understand why these concerts have to be at an earsplitting volume level when it destroys both the instrumental music and the vocals.
This band is truly entertaining. Best show I’ve seen in a while.
Both opening act NEVER COME DOWN and OLD CROW gave us the highest energy performance I have ever seen or heard. Top shelf talent at a friendly venue made the night a huge success.
If you have never seen OCMS live, you are missing out. The energy and enthusiasm on stage quickly spreads to the audience! They started the show with Tell it To Me and then right into Alabama High Test. The show was a great mix of old favorites and songs from the new CD. XL live does not have much seating, so we knew that would be an issue, but my hubby with bad knees usurped a seat that looked like if was for a bouncer and the staff was cool with letting him sit. My son and I stood and danced for the whole show!! Although my knees felt it the next morning it was more than worth it!!
Great music, ignorant crowd that wouldn't shut up and talked the whole time they were playing. Those people should stay home and watch You Tube
This band and the warm-up band were great, entertaining, and so talented. It was the most fun I’ve ever had at a concert. I highly recommend seeing them
From Junior Brown's opening to OCMS' performance, this was an awesome concert that was consistent with our previous experience. The talent of these artists and their enthusiasm make for a fantastic night of music. The only disappointing element was the number of empty seats in the auditorium!
This was a great show! This is the second time I've seen them at the Township, and I've loved it each time. There wasn't a song I didn't love or a slow moment. Even the opening act, the amazing Junior Brown, was wonderful.
Enjoyed the nonstop music, very entertaining, had a blast.
The music was excellent, and the guys were funny. I do have one thing that I thought kind of tainted the show. It was when the drummer spoke about a DeFord Bailey. It would have been wonderful if he had just mentioned him and how he was the first black man on the Grand Ole Opry. But he had to go into more and I am not sure even if I understood what happened, but I looked around the crowd when this was happening, and people did not like either; to me it was confusing. Why bring up the past? It brings division. Your drummer is there now and sharing his incredible talent and energy. Let us promote love and unity.
The venue at French Lick was awful for this show. The crowd was sleepy which is not what you expect at these shows. We had front row seats and security couldn't handle the handful of people who came up to dance causing us to lose our front row seats. I ended up with an entire glass on wine poured all over me and my white shirt / purse. Love the band, won't see them here again.
They wrote songs and stuck Indiana in them to pertain to our state. They even made reference to Larry Bird. It was very good.
I love OCMS! Love their show every time i see them! Unfortunately the venue just wasn't very good this time. I don't think ill ever go to another concert at French Lick resort and casino. It was nothing but a hassle from start to finish. We had what we thought to be very good seats. 8 rows back bust just sitting in chairs was a bust. It made it hard to see anything. Especially if someone even 3 rows up stood up. We couldn't get anything to eat without leaving and going to the casino. Plenty of bars but when drinking we wanted something simple. It didn't matter. Hot dog, nachos, popcorn. Anything but no we had to leave to eat something before the concert. Didn't know this until we got into the venue. A room at the venue was 328.00. Well thats just ridiculous. Everything else in town was sold out so we drove to another town to stay. The band was awsome as ususal but the venue just wasn't. WE'LL see OCMS the next time they come to Louisville to the Palace. Best place to see them
One of the best concerts I have been to ever! I having seen The Beatles as my first concert ever, the Eagles, Beach Boys, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban just to name a few, Old Crow Medicine Show were right up there!
The show was in a nice cool room that was very spacious. The seating was such that there were no people stepping on my toes going in or out. The stage seemed visible from everywhere and there were screens showing what you might not otherwise be able to see. The show itself was very delightful even though I was unfamiliar with some of their music. The musicians put on a good show and entertained the audience that was there by speaking of people and places familiar to the crowd. I saw that someone commented that 1;000 people came to hear one song: Wagon Wheel. While that is the best known song, it was still a treat to listen to their other music and banter.
