  • Love Oingo Boingo but I missed the horns

by Rachie on 10/29/24Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Usually there's a bigger brass section at the Oingo Boingo concerts. I missed them this year - makes a big difference.

  • Oingo Boingo rocks!!!

by Brently on 10/29/24Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Everybody should see O.B. I'm definitely going again. Humphries was a great venue for them. Hope they come back next year. The new singer brings the energy and the band is tight.

  • ONIGO BOINGO FORMER MEMBERS did great

by JS on 10/29/24Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

This is our second year in a row that we have attended. I think they need to bring "Oingo Boingo Former Members"alone and not with a bunch of 1 hit wonder bands to play the same night. I would be happier to see just "Boingo"play. My husband and his best friend saw them in 1985 in January at Cirtus College and have been true fans ever since attending as many concerts as they could when they were indeed "OINGO BOINGO"and still love them to this day. They need to come to Arizona and Nevada and play at some smaller venues like the Celebrity in Phoenix.

  • Outstanding!

Great show. We loved seeing the former members and new members.

Great concert- loved seeing all the original members and the new singer did a good job.

  • Too short

by Dr. Feelgood on 9/7/24The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 3 out of 5

The bands were to rushed. Would happily be willing to spend more, for the bands to have more time on stage. Still would be happy to attend the venue again.

  • Good, but not great

by Robyn on 9/5/24The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 3 out of 5

This is my third Rewind Fest in a row that I've attended. It was good, but not great. My main criticism is that this year, there were too many acts. 13 is over-saturation. Too much. The concert is better when there are a smaller number of acts performing more songs each. The other Rewind Fests never had that many. Next time, please book less acts! I think nine acts is the ideal number. Wang Chung and Dramarama were the two best acts of the night. They were so energetic and passionate and performed so well. The Escape Club and A Flock of Seagulls were also quite good. The least best acts were The Vapors and Missing Persons. Both lacked energy and passion. They were, "just there", so to speak. This is my 3rd time seeing Missing Persons and unfortunately they've always been like that. Overall, I enjoyed the concert and will attend future Rewind Fests, just please don't book so many acts.

  • Shortened songs

by Hal on 9/4/24The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 3 out of 5

Not the same experience when the songs played by Oingo Boingo are abbreviated. A lot of down time betw sets since each group could only play 2 songs before the next group came out. Recommend less groups so that more songs can be played resulting in less down time. Seating was very comfortable but acoustics were less ideal than I anticipated. Idk if we will go to next year’s.

  • Really, only 2 songs each!

by Old guy on 9/4/24The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 2 out of 5

Beautiful Thunder Valley venue but the top artist only played 2-3 songs, disappointing! The crowd enjoyed the music and videos played by the DJ between sets!

  • Boingo Forever!

by JoBo on 9/4/24The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

Great show! There were several other acts, which were great, but Oingo Boingo ROCKED!! Honestly, I felt like I was 17 again. The singer who replaced Danny, Brandon is the perfect voice to add to the group. Please, please come back to Nor Cal!

  • Awesome Show!

by Rewind Fest 80's Live '24 on 9/4/24The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

We went to see the Rewind Fest 80's Live '24 show and it was awesome! The band members may be older, but they still rock like they did back in the day. Oingo Boingo closed the show with several of their hits from the 80's so that was great...

  • They still got it

by Best show on 9/4/24The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

Would love to see Danny perform with them again, but Brendan McCreary can sure pick up the slack, always a fun show,I saw them as part of the I Love the 80's tour, and got 7 songs but I will go see them if they headline somewhere around my home,Still worth seeing

  • Excellent show, terrible venue.

by Dani M on 9/4/24The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

Oingo Boingo former members did a great job. The lead singer really had the tone down and what a performance he put on! The rest of the band rocked it as well and everyone had a good time watching them as I’m sure the band had a great time too. The most unfortunate thing is Thunder valley, the venue. This is the poorest constructed concert venue of all time. I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars going to see concerts, Trying out different seats in different parts of the venue to see if that makes a difference, only to be thoroughly disappointed at the terrible sound quality. Whether you sit on the floor or up in the mezz seats, the sound is poor! Likely due to no acoustics in this place! It’s a huge square Concrete box, cheap to build on a flash with no thought whatsoever into how to properly get the sound to the back of the room or even the floor! Out of all the bands that performed at the 80s rewind, it seems like Oingo Boingo was the only one to do a sound check. The other bands seemed thrown together for the most part. The DJ that played videos had the best sound?! Any band performing live in this venue, Beware, you will need to really spend time on your soundcheck. Thunder Valley is the biggest letdown of any concert venue I have ever been to all over the world. It is a shame, but I guess for the local folk they don’t care. I’m willing to travel to go to a good venue and I will not be back to thunder Thunder Valley. I’ve been to three stages in Folsom excellent design, the crest theater from the 1930s is even better than this place! The Golden 1 Arena not bad sound at all saw the Foo Fighters and had a great time. I’ve been to some really old theaters and new ones and the big difference is acoustics and thought design behind it. A good example is Mondavi Center at UC davis. A big thumbs down and a -5 marks for this Indian casino, thunder Valley, which really is all about a money grab for them.

  • Cover Band Concert

by Nevio on 11/14/23Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 1 out of 5

Last Oingo Boingo concert we’ll ever go to again! 3 geriatric bands play warm up to OB cover band. Only 2 original members left and both sit while on stage! Obviously drummer always sits but Horn player? Warm up bands play for 2+ hours and headliner plays 45 mins? I wouldn’t have paid $20 to watch this show. Such a disappointment as we’ve watched the ‘Halloween’ version for some time now. Stream the original music…you’ll save a ton of money and listen to the real thing! I guess it’s true that all good things come to an end.

  • Disappointing 2023 Humphrey's Show this Year

by LB on 11/7/23Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

The Halloween 2022 show at Humphreys was amazing and I couldn't wait to attend again this year; however, this year's concert was disappointing in a few ways. 1. Most disappointing was the fact that Oingo Boingo Former Members did not perform nearly as long as they did last year; they ended the show quite abruptly, citing some sort of curfew. There was no encore -- just the end of the show. If there was, in fact, a curfew of some sort, they should have limited the number of opening acts as there were three of them and we could have easily done without one or two of them. We wanted to hear more from Oingo Boingo Former Members -- we were there for their whole show. . . and that is not what we got. 2. We loved the show so much last year that we splurged this year and purchased the front row seating (which included a suite at Humphreys and a pre-show dinner). We looked forward to having an unobstructed view of the stage and, for most of the show, that is what we had; however, as the show neared the end, the security cleared out and allowed all people from all areas to rush the stage which completely negated the benefit of our front row seats. In fact, this was not only annoying because our view was taken away, but people surged all around us and enveloped us, which was not what we "signed up for". If this is Humphreys new normal, we don't think we will be purchasing front row seats again.

  • Wasn't Danny Elfman

by TMR on 11/6/23Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 1 out of 5

I would have wrongly assumed that when it said Oingo Boingo former members it also meant Danny Elfman. I was greatly disappointed once the concert began to find out it was a different singer. Why says original memebers? What a waste of money.

  • So Fun!

by Susie on 11/3/23Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

3rd time seeing Oingo Boingo! They never disappoint! The music mix was crisp and the volume was perfect. I still have the songs rolling through my head. Humphrey's on the Bay is the best venue ever!

  • Disappointed

by DFS on 11/1/23Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

This was my third year to see this group at Humphries. To start, there were technical problems with the sound system. Too many opening acts. Oingo Boingo time on stage was cut short which resulted in no encore due to curfew. If the lineup for next year is the same, I will not attend.

  • Excellence Award

No one missed Danny Elfman; these men played phenomenal and with heart ♥️ so glad they came out!

  • AMAZING SHOW!

by ANI on 10/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Such an amazing show! This is my 3rd time seeing OBFM perform and they get better and better each time! They are all very entertaining to watch and I LOVE the energy that the lead singer (Brendan McCreary) throws off into the crowd! The Untouchables, Dramarama and The Tubes also performed that night. All great bands at such a wonderful venue!!!
