  • Concert venue not good for comedy

by Anonymous on 8/28/13Gexa Energy Pavilion - DallasRating: 3 out of 5

It was a big mess, some of the comedians weren't funny, flight of the concords sucks. Chappelle was good but rusty

  • This isn't the Dave Chappelle show by a long shot!

by LadyofDestinction on 8/28/13Gexa Energy Pavilion - DallasRating: 2 out of 5

Corny can't even begin to describe the disgust that I had for this show. Unfortunately, the only people even remotely funny were the black comedians and even they were only worthy of chuckles. Whew! I was sick at how unhappy I was with this as I really was hoping I could rave about this show but sadly all I can say is this show was mediocre at best!

  • No schedule of agenda

by avoidthisshow on 8/28/13Gexa Energy Pavilion - DallasRating: 1 out of 5

The only information available was that the doors would open at 5pm. We showed up only to find out that the show did not actually start until 7pm. So since we had a sitter only until 9pm, we were not able to see either of the major acts since we had to leave early. We were not able to plan appropriately. What a joke (no pun intended).

  • Anywhere, but Dallas

by ChrisOssenfort on 8/28/13Gexa Energy Pavilion - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

The comedians were brilliant, but they had an uphill battle. Fighting a crowd that was either to inebriated or uneducated to appreciate a good standup routine, most of the performers had to deal with heckling and the heat. Regardless, they put on an amazing show. If you go to this show respect the comedians, they have earned it. If you don't get a joke perhaps it wasn't written for you but someone in the crowd was laughing. If you didn't think any of it was funny, then i suggest you hold off for the Jersey shore reunion tour and don't bother seeing anything else till then.

  • Chappelle didn't let down

    by mavrick1987 on 8/28/13Gexa Energy Pavilion - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

I came to see Dave Chappelle but enjoyed watching all the comedians. Dave Chappelle was everything I hoped he would be.

  • I left my ass there, cause I laughed it off.

by BaronvonBunklehausen on 8/28/13Gexa Energy Pavilion - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

The Oddball tour is an amazing collection of well known and up and coming comedians that was an absolute blast to see. The side stage had some guys we'll be seeing again, and the main performances were fantastic. I only wish we could have had more time with each of the main acts, because the 15 minute sets were too short for the short sets, and Flight of the Conchords and Chappelle could have easily gone for twice their time and still had me splitting my sides in laughter. I'll be going to the 2nd annual tour. Assuming I can.

  • Funny but not that funny

by TGant on 8/28/13Gexa Energy Pavilion - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

Overall the show was good and worth paying for the seats under the pavilion. However, Flight of the Conchords were not funny. I guess I'm not into the singing comedy?? Anyway, the other comedians were funny. David Chappelle was funny also, but I didn't bust my side. I recommend others to go, but I wouldn't see any of them again. Once was good enough, plus the heat was a beast.

  • A Great Night of Comedy

by Masterface7 on 8/28/13The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion - WoodlandsRating: 5 out of 5

Not much needs to be said, Hannibal Buress, Demetri Martin, Flight of the Conchords, and Dave Chapelle all had the whole crowd of around 17,000 laughing hard all night. Also, a special mention needs to be made for Godfrey he was the events host and he did an absolutly fantastic job of getting the crowd warmed up and keeping everybody smiling between acts.

  • Was it the heat?

    by JM3245 on 8/28/13Gexa Energy Pavilion - DallasRating: 3 out of 5

Demetri and Flight of the Conchords lived up to expectations, although I wish they had played "Bret you got it going on". Dave Chappelle was very funny at times early on, especially on his racism bits. But the last 15 minutes, he was either overwhelmed by the heat, too stoned to remember his jokes, or indifferent to the show. I don't think I laughed one time during that span. It was a very awkward ending as he sat there a moment seemingly trying to remember a joke, then just said good night. He was much better than this several years ago at Addison Improv.

  • welcome back Dave

Everybody was fantastic! Can't wait to see Dave again!!!!

  • Awesome event, horrible venue parking

by KayetotheJaye on 8/28/13Gexa Energy Pavilion - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

The comedy team assembled here is very talented and some are well known. Kristen Schaal had an amusing set involving a surprise guest and Demetri Martin's one liners finally clicked to me as very Mitch Hedberg-y observations. Flight of the Conchords were great as always and a good segue to Dave Chapelle. It was like getting to see an old friend whom you've missed for a few years.

  • Perfect oddball comedy blend!!

by Annalouisekey on 8/28/13Gexa Energy Pavilion - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Every comedian was funny, and our 3 favorites also didn't disappoint: Dimitri Martin's improv, FOTC's wit and song, and Chapelle's seasoned I don't care additude. 3 1/2 hours of gut splitting! For those who say Chappelle was only on for 30 min in Houston, he was on for an hour in Dallas!

  • Dave Chappelle is still the king!

by MissyNull on 8/28/13Gexa Energy Pavilion - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Super great gig! The line-up was fantastic....all of it. The crowd was fun. Lawn was nice. Sound was good. Overall, another great night at Gexa! We sure did enjoy ourselves!

  • the comedians were stellar!

by rockinRyanGist1 on 8/27/13The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion - WoodlandsRating: 5 out of 5

I haven't laughed so hard for so long for every single comedian in so long I can't remember. Flight of the conchords were even better in person, as was kristen schal. it's so awesome that dave chappelle was able to come out and share some laughs with the world! he is so good at it and it's what he was sent here to do!I had one of the best nights of my life. Laughter is the best medicine

Great show! Wish Dave would have been on longer. Funny guy.

  • Great Show

by ComedianLover85 on 8/27/13The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion - WoodlandsRating: 4 out of 5

Great show, very hot out - but that's Houston for ya. Side stage comedians were enjoyable, no boos from the audience. Dave Chappelle was great, but Hannibal Burress stole the show hands-down! What was the biggest disappointment was an hour-long set from Flight of the Conchords - sorry excuse for a comedy duo. When they performed is when most people got up to go to the restroom/walk around. In fact, the only applause they received is when they yelled, "Dave Chappelle!", then proceeded to say that's what they do to liven the crowd up. Not funny. Go for Chappelle and the supporting acts, besides, who knows when he'll decide to hide from the spotlight again.

  • Dave Chappelle was EPIC!

by Slowboonslang on 8/27/13The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion - WoodlandsRating: 5 out of 5

Dave Chappelle blew the crowd away on saturday. One of the funniest events I have ever been to in my life.

  • by Neveragain4 on 8/27/13The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion - WoodlandsRating: 2 out of 5

Dave Chappelle disappointed me so much. He wasn't that funny and his part felt like it was only 30 minutes long. Dimitri Martin was way funnier. I will never again waste my money on Dave chappelle again!

  • Flight of Conchords NOT topflight!

by Candybaybee on 8/27/13The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion - WoodlandsRating: 4 out of 5

Overall the show was good, but the group Flight of the Conchords was HORRIBLE to say the least. They were very boring and not funny at all. They stayed up there for 1 hour and people were booing asking fro Dave Chappell to come out. The previous comedians were funny and it was a nice surprise to see Bun B do a performance. Dave Chappel was hilarious, but I wish he could have stayed up there longer. Over all if you take away Flight of the Conchords it was a pretty decent show.

  • Dave was great!

by Joker777420 on 8/27/13The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion - WoodlandsRating: 4 out of 5

I got there a couple of hours late but was just in time for all of the comedians. Everyone was hilarious and I would definitely see another fest like this again, and also recommend the event to friends and family. Great show.
