About

The members of O.A.R. first came together in Rockville, Maryland in the basement of drummer Chris Culos' childhood home.  As a young group of musicians, they were the prototype of the modern, self-starting band--taking charge of their fate by working the internet and building an identifiable sound.  The band's music, a rock/reggae fusion, consisted of songs that were fully accessible, yet teasingly elusive.  Attracting fans all across the country, the band members toured relentlessly, pushing their album sales through boundless dedication and word-of-mouth appeal, never waiting for the industry to catch up.

By the time the band had reached their 10 year anniversary together, they had sold over 1.2 million albums and performed in front of over 1 million people.  Their most recent studio record, Stories of a Stranger, produced radio favorites "Love and Memories" and "Heard the World" as well as mtvU's Most Downloaded Video of 2006, "Lay Down."  The band followed up the successful release with a live double disc CD and DVD set, Live From Madison Square Garden, recorded during the band's second sold-out performance at the prestigious arena.

Earlier this year, the band holed themselves up in a studio in Los Angeles to work on their next project, All Sides.  The album, due out July 15th, is certain to be yet another milestone in O.A.R.'s storied career.

An energetic night infused with amazing music to be enjoyed!

by TimA on 9/14/22Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - Austin

The band was engaging and high energy keeping the audience wanting more. The venue has no bad seats so everyone in attendance can see and hear the amazing music being performed. The closing finale with Dispatch and OAR was one of the best we have ever seen. The music produced by these talented musical artist was absolutely wonderful to witness.

    Great show with great artists

by mfogle on 9/7/22Live Oak Bank Pavilion - Wilmington

We really enjoyed the OAR concert. The performance was on point and seats were amazing. Not sure if sitting in the lawn area would have been as good since being up close we could see the musicians, their expressions, and energy, but with where our seats were, it was fantastic.

    Hoping for better...

by Boombastik on 9/7/22Live Oak Bank Pavilion - Wilmington

This was our first time seeing OAR. We've heard so many good things but thats just not what we saw. The band just seemed to phone it in. They played each song, almost like it was a practice. Not much energy, very robotic and dull. They're nearing the end of the tour so maybe they're tired of performing? Not sure, i just wish they would have put on a better show for the Wilmington crowd.

    Incredible!

by rach on 9/6/22Live Oak Bank Pavilion - Wilmington

This collaboration with G. Love, Dispatch and OAR was nothing short of incredible. A show I will see 100 times over again. The crowd was amazing, the energy was amazing, and the music was like no other!

    Music was great, venue subpar

by SL on 9/6/22Live Oak Bank Pavilion - Wilmington

We had tickets for lawn, so we knew we wouldn’t see much but at least got to lay back and enjoy good music and a nice night. However, the lines for the food trucks and lack of variety of food is where this venue really lacks . We waited an hour for 2 quesadillas and missed most of Dispatch, which sucked because we were there for them. Please do better with your food and wait time for such.

One of the best I have seen

by Mike19711 on 9/2/22Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

Been an O.A.R. fan for many years, have seen 25-30 shows all across the country. This show was certainly among the best if not the best I have seen. First, the sound quality at Merriweather post that night was fantastic. I live outside of Philly and I am sorry to say that the sound at Merriweather was superior to the sound at the Mann Music Center a week earlier. (Yes I went to both concerts, LOL) The performance at Merriweather was top notch. Every member of the band had a chance to showcase their talents. Some shows seem heavy on the sax or trumpet. Others on lead guitar. This show really seems to give everyone a chance to show their skill. It is a hometown crowd at Merriweather and O.A.R did not disappoint.

    best of the summer

by PAUL on 9/1/22Saratoga Performing Arts Center - Saratoga Springs

Was lucky enough to see 14 great shows this year. None were as good as OAR. The addition of the trumpet player has taken this band to Dave Matthews Status ( I am not saying as good as Dave, however they sound so damned good live now ) This was the 5th time I have seen them, by far the best.

    Amazing venue, Bands KILLED it

by Cass on 8/31/22PNC Bank Arts Center - Holmdel

Loved the venue! Open and clean. So many vendors and bathrooms there were very little lines. As usual, prices were astronomical but that’s life.

    Disappointed

by Concert Lover on 8/31/22PNC Bank Arts Center - Holmdel

Have been to 40+ OAR concerts and this one fell flat for me. Marc was definitely out of practice, not knowing the words and sounding like karaoke. Super disappointed but understand he can’t be “on” all the time. Dispatch was AMAZING though!

Best Night of Live Music EVER!

by Coco on 8/31/22PNC Bank Arts Center - Holmdel

The musical chemistry between the artists was amazing and Dispatch and OAR even played songs together. It was so cool to see such great artists come together and make some darn good music. 10/10 would recommend you see both artists in concert since this experience was one my friends and I will always remember.

    Amazing

by Elle on 8/31/22PNC Bank Arts Center - Holmdel

The venue and obviously O.A.R was amazing. The only downside was how ridiculously priced the beers were and you could only use your card. I would of loved to use cash instead but I guess it makes sense since there are a lot of people there

    August Concert

by S on 8/31/22PNC Bank Arts Center - Holmdel

Good people but zero stage presence, and pitchy sounding. Thankfully, Dispatch was also there and they were a lot of fun to see.

    Great jam band

by Pat on 8/31/22PNC Bank Arts Center - Holmdel

OAR always puts on a great show, i have seen them 8 times. I am not complaining but I prefer when they are the only headliner. They double headlined with Dispatch and although Dispatch was good there was to much interaction between the two bands. Glad OAR played last and cant get enough of the trumpet player ( actually the only guy not officially in the band). The final song with both bands on stage together doing REM was awesome. Maybe it really is the end of the world as we know it.
