About

The members of O.A.R. first came together in Rockville, Maryland in the basement of drummer Chris Culos' childhood home.  As a young group of musicians, they were the prototype of the modern, self-starting band--taking charge of their fate by working the internet and building an identifiable sound.  The band's music, a rock/reggae fusion, consisted of songs that were fully accessible, yet teasingly elusive.  Attracting fans all across the country, the band members toured relentlessly, pushing their album sales through boundless dedication and word-of-mouth appeal, never waiting for the industry to catch up.

By the time the band had reached their 10 year anniversary together, they had sold over 1.2 million albums and performed in front of over 1 million people.  Their most recent studio record, Stories of a Stranger, produced radio favorites "Love and Memories" and "Heard the World" as well as mtvU's Most Downloaded Video of 2006, "Lay Down."  The band followed up the successful release with a live double disc CD and DVD set, Live From Madison Square Garden, recorded during the band's second sold-out performance at the prestigious arena.

Earlier this year, the band holed themselves up in a studio in Los Angeles to work on their next project, All Sides.  The album, due out July 15th, is certain to be yet another milestone in O.A.R.'s storied career.

    Disappointed

    by Karen on 8/7/23

I purchased tickets to see the GOO GOO DOLLS NOT OAR. The concert was a Friday night and when I got there and walked in at 740 and the GOO GOO Dolls were playing and I saw 3 songs to say I was pissed is an understatement! OAR should never have been the headliner I do not care they are from Maryland, I paid to see GOO GOO DOLLS and missed it thanks to it being a Friday night having to take off work and stuck in traffic going to the arena at Merriweather and NOT receiving an update that the line up changed. Very disappointed! Merriweather should not have changed the line up! I purchased 9 tickets and didn't get to see the performance I paid for.

    Will see them again!

    by Audnich on 8/7/23

It was my very first time seeing O.A.R in concert, the very best concert I’ve ever been too especially since I knew every song Marc sang. I’ve been a fan of theirs for about 15 years and to finally see them in person was just so breathtaking. Highly recommend seeing O.A.R in person! Also seeing Goo Goo dolls was a bonus!

    Excellent, fun musicians

    by JoeO on 8/3/23

O.A.R. opened for Goo Goo Dolls in Simpsonville, SC and were awesome! Sound was mixed perfectly - not too loud, not too much bass or overpowering drums, good volume on vocals. Just fun music, good energy, excellent musicians. First time seeing them and would definitely go see them again. I liked the little stories/intros to songs, too.

by Kim on 5/2/23Hard Rock Live Orlando - Orlando

I didn’t care for the opening band, i can see them for free at my local bar. OAR put on a great show as usual! I was very happy they opened with my favorite song 52-50 Balcony seats were good and there is a bar upstairs. No line for drinks

    Bands great, venue a ripoff

by OAR fan on 9/26/22Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course - Grantville

OAR was amazing as always. I'd never seen 311 but they put on a lively and fun show. But this venue screwed over people who bought tickets in advance. First of all the ticket prices were about twice as high as the highest price I normally pay for a show like this. But I thought it was worth it because I was able to snag a FRONT ROW seat! Right in the center, too - very sweet seat, I thought. I looked forward to this for many months. I would have bought a pit ticket to be right up on the rail closest to the band, as I normally do, but the pit was not open and it appeared that they would not be selling tickets for the pit. That is until the DAY OF the show. Apparently at the last minute they put the pit on sale for HALF the price I paid for my ticket! Suddenly there were all these people in front of me and my "front row" seat was just somewhere in the middle of the crowd. Others in my row and me were PISSED, but there was nothing we could do. I know others who found out about the pit tickets and bought a second ticket for the pit even though they already had an overpriced ticket for a seat. (Who cares about a seat? No one sits at rock concerts.) I also heard that since they had not sold all the last minute pit tickets they even started giving away the wristbands to random people to get into the pit! I cannot even express how infuriated I am by this whole experience. They took something that was supposed to be a special event that I splurged on and looked forward to into a very disappointing evening. I still enjoyed the bands, but it was not at all what I thought I was paying for.

311 was Great! Venue not so much.

by Dale on 9/20/22Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course - Grantville

Venue is very misleading when purchasing tickets. They make it seem like all the different sections have some sort of elevation with the lawn area up top but it’s not like that at all. We had the 3 front row seats of section 106 and couldn’t really enjoy the show due to random people without seats coming and standing in the walk way right in front of us.

    Great venue

by JL on 9/20/22Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course - Grantville

Venue was great for smaller shows. $10 for 12 ounce beers is pretty steep but overall great experience. Will definitely attend again.

    Bad Audio

by Mech on 9/14/22Saratoga Performing Arts Center - Saratoga Springs

The audio engineers didn't aim the PA toward either balcony AT ALL. Neglecting 2 levels of balcony seating that people paid to have seats for is unacceptable in my opinion. They did this at multiple venues and seems to be purposeful. Ended up standing on the lawn for the show where the audio quality was better.
