Nick Lowe has made his mark as a producer (Elvis Costello-Graham Parker-Pretenders-The Damned), songwriter of at least three songs you know by heart, short-lived career as a pop star, and a lengthy term as a musicians’ musician. But in his current ‘second act’ as a silver-haired, tender-hearted but sharp-tongued singer-songwriter, he has no equal.
Starting with 1995′s ‘The Impossible Bird’ through to 2011′s ‘The Old Magic,’ Nick has turned out a fantastic string of albums, each one devised in his West London home, and recorded with a core of musicians who possess the same veteran savvy. Lowe brings wit and understated excellence to every performance, leading Ben Ratliff of the New York Times to describe his live show as “elegant and nearly devastating.”

Nick and the boys delivered the goods once again…very entertaining mix of old and new material performed with panache. Nick’s crooning against the sublime playing of Eddie Angel and Los Straitjackets is magical. I love these guys!
Always delivers the goods. Outside of "Peace, Love and Understanding,"never has the same play set from show to show. Looking forward to his next show, w/ or w/out Los Straitjackets.
This was a great, tight show from Nick Lowe and Los Straitjackets. They've been touring together for a few years now, and they fit together like peanut butter and jelly. Great songs old and new from Nick, great instrumentals from Los Straitjackets, including their superlative version of "My Heart Wil Go On."Long may they rock.
The show was great. The Los Straightjackets were awesome. It was like going back in time. Only complaint was the opening group was on just a little bit too long.
Great show. Antones is a nice venue. Jimmie Allen was great opening up. Nick was filming his whole show from the side of the stage. I haven’t seen Nick Lowe for 46 years when he was with Rockpile back in 1978. This was a great show.
Fun show and Antone’s vibe. Ii loved Los Straight Jackets and the Mexican wrestling masks
Los Straitjackets are so much fun and Nick Lowe is absolutely impeccable! I had the time of my life.
Nick and Los Strait Jackets We’re amazing on Sunday night. They played for close to two hours and covered a good deal of Nicks catalog of hits as well as new songs One would never know that he is 75 years old by his on stage energy. Classics such as Cruel to Be Kind, Half a Boy & Half a Man,Ragin Eyes& I. Live on. Battlefield were just a few of the hits that were played. Los Strait jackets held their own as well with their classic University Boulevard and an up-tempo version of the Magnificent 7 theme. I highly recommend this show to anyone who hasn’t seen them before
Very good show pulled out some great old songs backing band good solo also
