About

For the first time in League history, the National Hockey League (NHL) will host outdoor hockey in Florida. Celebrating the explosive growth of hockey in Florida over the last three decades, the League will stage two outdoor games in the Sunshine State during the 2025-26 season with the Tampa Bay Lightning hosting the Boston Bruins in the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series at Raymond James Stadium on Feb. 1, 2026.

The 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series is the Lightning's second outdoor game appearance, and the Bruins' sixth. Tampa Bay scored a 3-2 victory over the Nashville Predators at Nissan Stadium in Nashville at the 2022 NHL Stadium Series while Boston owns a 4-1 record in outdoor games dating back to the 2010 NHL Winter Classic, a 3-2 overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers at Fenway Park.

  • Great game, wasn’t executed correctly

by Vincent on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 4 out of 5

Best game I ever been too with an amazing atmosphere but the game being delayed to sun glare with no information shared with us was very frustrating and unprofessional. Once we got in the stadium there was no staff to help with directions to the seats and the merch stands were sold out or under staffed to assist for a crowd of 70,000 people.

  • Absolutely a Blast!

What a treat to watch an NHL game outside! Lots of fun.

  • Awesome game, terrible parking

by Jordan on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 3 out of 5

The game itself was great. I thought you could add more seating near the rink, but sitting in section 229, I didn’t think it was bad at all. However, I missed half the 1st period due to major traffic issues involving parking, and that was with the game starting 45 mins late. It took us about 2 hours to go 1.5 miles to finally get a parking spot. Would think twice before buying another ticket at MetLife due to this. I would say I’d take public transportation but I live an hour and half away and would take just as long to get on somewhere.

Stadium series(Rangers vs Islanders) was awesome! Got pictures with the grail pregame. Fun tailgating with other fans. Lots of things to do in Lot “G” pregame. Game itself was awesome. Rangers remain undefeated in outdoor games. Good time!

  • Absolutely Incredible

by Tommy on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Best game ever to be played outdoors especially at MetLife Stadium .NY Giants and NY Jets cant fill that many fans in that stadium

  • Great except for MetLife parking

by Pop on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 4 out of 5

The outdoor hockey game was great. Weather was perfect for it. I just wish it wasn’t at MetLife with their silly parking lot traffic flow. I had to drive a lap around the outer ring of the stadium to get to the turnpike. Took almost an hour. We weren’t aloud to make a simple left and go 50 yards to the turnpike exit from where I was parked. Hopefully it’s a long time before this venue is considered for another hockey game.

  • Excellent

by Scotty on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Just a lot of fun and I have been a hockey fan a long time 🍀

  • Amazing once in a lifetime experience

by Amber S. on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

I had an amazing time at MetLife stadium with my Dad and sister. Getting in and out was a completely smooth process and the staff was extremely helpful checking us in and helping us find our seats. The lines for concessions were short and I thought the prices were reasonable, especially for the Stadium Series souvenir cups. I loved the way the stadium was staged and I couldn’t have had a much better time unless my team had come through with a win. Will definitely attend MetLife Stadium for future events!

  • Great Experience

by JamesB on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Had a great time, fantastic experience. Purchasing tickets was very straight forward. App worked flawlessly, entry to stadium was no problem. NJ Transit from mid town Manhattan made it easy to get there too.

  • Pond hockey is the way hockey is supposed to be late

by Islander fan from the 518 on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Watching hockey outside. Probably the most exciting time I've ever had watching NHL. Watching my Islanders play the rangers of course added excitement. Everybody can see the game played outside these ones

  • Perfect day

    by Jm2699 on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Everything about the stadium series game I went to was perfect. The New Amsterdam was a lot of fun & the NHL put on a great show inside the stadium. The game itself was very exciting & the cherry on top of our perfect day was the Rangers come from behind victory. The NHL really outdid themselves there.

  • The Best

by Mike on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best games I’ve ever seen. The atmosphere was electric. Fans on both sides were great. Very glad I was there.

  • Poor crowd control

by Glen on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 3 out of 5

Bathroom lines were ridiculous. Couldn’t read islander player’s numbers from 300 section.

  • A Great Day For Hockey

    by NYR35 on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

An incredible atmosphere and experience, hats off to the NHL and the local teams for putting on a spectacular show on and off the ice. It's one of the more memorable experiences I've personally had at any sporting event. As a Rangers fan I was obviously ecstatic about the finish. As a hockey fan I think this was a wonderful commentary on a great sport that deserves more attention.

  • Not a home game

by WTrain on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 3 out of 5

Great hockey game for NY , shouldn’t be in NJ and definitely wasn’t an Islander home game …

  • Great game, but…room for improvement

by Kal on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 4 out of 5

Entering stadium was a nightmare! Has to be a more efficient way. On another line, someone took my daughter’s expensive sunglasses after she was sent back through the magnetometer. Otherwise seats were great, view was better than at a baseball stadium.

  • Fantastic NY event, but NJ didnt deserve to host

by Marc on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 4 out of 5

The NHL Stadium Series event was amazing. The teams, fantastic. We were travelling fans from the UK in our forties, all looking to enjoy the game. Unfortunately, NJ state law means as international visitors, we have to have possession of our passports to buy a drink. This riduculous rule stopped us from buying beers - which isn't a huge deal, but as the NJ are clearly promoting 'winning' the bid for the World Cup Final will be a much much bigger deal in 2026 when 90,000 international fans descend. NJ need to reconsider this draconian rule urgently! (The hockey was superb - Rangers win in Overtime, worth every penny!)
