About

For the first time in League history, the National Hockey League (NHL) will host outdoor hockey in Florida. Celebrating the explosive growth of hockey in Florida over the last three decades, the League will stage two outdoor games in the Sunshine State during the 2025-26 season with the Tampa Bay Lightning hosting the Boston Bruins in the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series at Raymond James Stadium on Feb. 1, 2026.

The 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series is the Lightning's second outdoor game appearance, and the Bruins' sixth. Tampa Bay scored a 3-2 victory over the Nashville Predators at Nissan Stadium in Nashville at the 2022 NHL Stadium Series while Boston owns a 4-1 record in outdoor games dating back to the 2010 NHL Winter Classic, a 3-2 overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers at Fenway Park.

  • Hockey at it’s Best

by Big red on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

What a game! What an experience ! After much deliberation I decided to spend the money and get tickets for this event. So glad I did. Hockey played outdoors in a huge arena setting like MetLife, under the lights, was fantastic. The rink was glistening! Fans from both teams were energetic and came prepared to have fun and cheer for their team despite the freezing temperatures. Definitely something to do again.

by Joe K on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 4 out of 5

The game and overall environment was AWESOME !!! Getting into the stadium gates was BRUTAL !!! It took an hour just to get through the check point and scan the tickets. I missed the first 4 minutes of the game.

NHL like it was meant to be…outdoor in the elements! The MetLife stadium was the perfect host the the stadium series with close to 80,000 attendees! A game for the records books! Let’s go New York Rangers!

  • Best/worst game ever

by Dave on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Celebrated my birthday at the islander/ranger game at MetLife. Tailgated for hours and had an unbelievable time until the heartbreaking ending as an Islander fan. Watched the Devils/Flyers game the night before which seemed great as well.

by Carolyn on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

The stadium series is the best atmosphere for a hockey game. Not too cold; plenty of television screens to see the ice from up top. Would definitely attend another outdoor game; such a great experience!

  • Totally Worth the Cold

    by W1LDD0GG on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

The game and the venue was absolutely incredible. It was surreal seeing the Rangers and Islanders outside in MetLife Stadium, a venue that has 4x the capacity of MSG. The game itself was super exciting as well. The only hiccup was parking in the American Dream Mall lot was a challenge and there were no warnings to indicate if the lots were full. Thankfully I found a spot at the top level where there was a lot of snow covering it, but not too much for the car to level it out a bit, and it worked out. Overall if you’re an NHL fan and don’t mind cold temperatures, definitely look to go to an outdoor game if you can, whether it be the Winter Classic or Stadium Series games. Hopefully they do it again in the NY metro area again soon!

  • Amazing unreal one of the best experiences ever

  • Miracle at MetLife

    by T-man on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

MetLife and the NHL pulled off one of, if not THE best experiences ever. Only downside was getting into the stadium and missing the start of the first period. Everything else A+. Do this every year at MetLife with the same teams.

  • Stadium series

Amazing, electrifying and spectacular and that was just the tailgating. An amazing event! LGR!!!

  • Not all mezzanine sections had heated areas

by Alex M on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

I love hockey so it was enjoyable. But when I looked up mezzanine and bought them, it said it had indoor seating areas, with tv’s and it was heated, apparently our section didn’t. And God forbid you asked if you can just warmup in the “fancy area” we were treated like 3rd class citizens on the titanic. And the islanders lost in OT

  • The most insane day of my life

by Lydia P on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

This game was quite literally the best moment of my life. I’ve never felt an atmosphere like the one after the refs called the OT winner a good goal. What a game. And the NHL put on a great event pregame and during the game as well. I will never get over this day. What a game and what a comeback. LGR!

  • I wish they had the vent every year!!!!!

by Den on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

I waiting forever to see an outdoor game at Giants Stadium/ Met Life and my wish finely came true! Did not disappoint!!! I actually went the first hockey game at the Meadowlands in 1982 which was a pre season Ranger/Philadelphia game and I can not believe how far hockey has come! Can not wait to go to another outdoor game!

  • Hell of a game

by John on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Despite the cold, the energy was electric and the game was amazing. If they had it in nj again i would definitely go

  • Great finish, NHL needs to do more

by Anthony on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 3 out of 5

Game was great, the review here is about how the NHL is conducting the stadium series. The dead space beside the rink is ridiculous: the dog walking, biker, popcorn guy is a joke. Fill it with fans or something. Pick a band or entertainment that hockey fans actually listen to. Your average hockey fan who actually puts out money for games and season tickets is a rock guy. The second issue is for several hundred dollars a ticket you think the ushers at Metlife would know to ask guests to "wait for the whistle". I was in section143, row 14, up close and yet obstructed constantly by guests moving about during play. Also, shame on any veteran hockey fan who would do that to a fellow fan. LGR!

  • Great Times

    by Jetset1106 on 2/21/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 4 out of 5

Fun atmosphere. Excellent experience. The sound of the on field host was distorted.
