About

For the first time in League history, the National Hockey League (NHL) will host outdoor hockey in Florida. Celebrating the explosive growth of hockey in Florida over the last three decades, the League will stage two outdoor games in the Sunshine State during the 2025-26 season with the Tampa Bay Lightning hosting the Boston Bruins in the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series at Raymond James Stadium on Feb. 1, 2026.

The 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series is the Lightning's second outdoor game appearance, and the Bruins' sixth. Tampa Bay scored a 3-2 victory over the Nashville Predators at Nissan Stadium in Nashville at the 2022 NHL Stadium Series while Boston owns a 4-1 record in outdoor games dating back to the 2010 NHL Winter Classic, a 3-2 overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers at Fenway Park.

  • Class Act Event

by TimH on 3/4/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

Everything about this event was done right. The NHL and Columbus Blue Jackets pulled out all the spots to make this a fan friendly, family friendly event. One of the best 5 events I ever witnessed live.

  • Great game and Atmosphere. HORRIBLE STADIUM

by TheZagedDonut on 3/4/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 3 out of 5

The NHL did a great job producing and putting on a great game (officiating aside) definitely recommend the experience to anyone who has the ability to go support their favorite team in a unique event. The stadium itself was unpleasant. Bathrooms were gross, stairs were dangerous, metal benches in freezing weather wasn't ideal, I had no choice but to have my knees in the back of the person in front of me due to lack of room, finally the whole stadium had a gross smell to it. We had a much better experience when we went to the Cleveland Browns stadium for the Lake Erie Monsters outdoor game a few years ago.

  • Simply amazing and cold!

Great event... I hope we get this again down the road

  • The entire event was fantastic.

by Dean on 3/4/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

The NHL and the OSU campus put on a wonderful event. Well planned out, lots of things to do and with the amount of people in the area we were not a wear of any major problems. That campus does an amazing job moving large amounts of people smoothly.

  • awesome experience....

by Matt Weedon on 3/4/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

The outdoor game at the "Shoe"was an amazing experience. Of course, it was cold, but was so cool and having almost 95,000 people in there was awesome! The NHL has figured out how to put on a great outdoor game.

  • Best NHL Columbus Hockey Game Ever

by Pumpkin Head on 3/4/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

The first NHL hockey game in Ohio Stadium was better than I could have imagined. 94,000 people at the night game and the energy was off the charts. From the pregame NHL activities outside the stadium, to the Blue Jackets winning and 21 Pilots performing between periods, everything was perfect. Also loved how the NHL leaned into including many Ohio State related items like the OSU band and cheerleaders. My family will fondly remember this moment forever.

  • Stadium Series

    by Brian L on 3/4/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

We had an amazing time. Our seats, well bench, had a great view of the entire game but also just far enough away that we could see everything happening away from the ice - like the first intermission concert. The atmosphere, the mix of Jackets and Wings fans, and the entire experience was fantastic. Were we cold? Sure. So were 94,500 other people. That’s part of outdoor sports.

  • Amazing night. Thanks Johnny! Thanks Blue Jackets!

Amazing evening. CBJ did everything right. And a win!

Excellent time but bathroom situation needs improved.

  • NHL Stadium Series Game: A Fun But Cold Experience

by RJ on 3/4/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 4 out of 5

Great event. Staged very well. It was just so cold. Why couldn’t the game be played earlier in the day?

  • NHL in OHIO STADIUM

by DoubleA on 3/4/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

The NHL did a phenomenal job using the already existing rabid fan base in Central Ohio. Scheduling the Detroit Red Wings against the Columbus Blue Jackets was very good marketing. 95,500 people showed and the two teams did not disappoint! Hopefully the level of success and support impressed the NHL to do it on an annual basis!

  • Amazing

This was an incredible event and amazing experience! Our tickets couldn’t have been any better. Everything ran smoothly and we really enjoyed ourselves. So happy to have been a part of it!!

  • Amazing!

Not the best viewing for game, but over all experience was amazing!

  • Amazing!

    by Scott D on 3/4/25Ohio Stadium - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

Very few things meet the hype especially in sporting events, but the 2025 Stadium Series game was incredible. All the OSU and Johnny Hockey tie ins, plus two great teams battling it out in below freezing weather. It was amazing incredible experience. I would never hesitate to go to one again. I was proud of our Jackets, The Ohio State University, and the City of Columbus.

  • Worth every penny.

by Dan on 5/15/24Rating: 5 out of 5

It was freezing cold, but that's not the event's fault that's just how it is sometimes. With the Devils/Flyers Stadium Series, you saw more than just a game as there were two concerts on top of that, and hearing your team's goal song played live six times is something magical.

  • Great Experience

by B Mo on 3/9/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

I have always wanted to attend an outdoor hockey game. When I found out the Devils were playing in this year's Stadium series I knew I couldn't miss this opportunity. The event did not disappoint and enjoyed the event. The atmosphere was awesome and the Devils winning only added the experience. My seats were on the second tier but still had a good view of the ice despite being far away. I am so glad I went and will do it again.

  • The greatest sports experience ever

by Chuck on 3/9/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

I've attended more than 60 Major League Baseball game sat Yankee Stadium, including playoff games, and 10 others at stadiums scattered all over the east coast of the the United States. I've been to two NFL football games at MetLife Stadium and watched both the Jets and the Giants. I've been to numerous Monday Night Raw WWE events and house shows at Madison Square Garden and the Nassau Colliseum. Before this recent out door Rangers Islanders game in East Rutherford, New Jersey I've only attended one other NHL hockey game in my life in Fort Laudereale, Florida between the Florida Panthers and the Ottawa Senators on December 3, 2003. I can honestly say that this game was, by far, the greatest sports event that I've ever attended in my life. I have some great video footage to prove it which I will upload to my YouTube account with all of my others. Bring the NFCU outdoor hockey game back to New York/New Jersey again next year.

  • Outside the stadium was ok, but INSIDE was AWESOME!

    by PJ2222 on 3/8/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 4 out of 5

The NHL events outside the stadium were hit or miss. The line for the Stanley Cup was very well organized and staffed by friendly people. The woman staffing the line to meet some of the players was on some kind of power trip and cut the line off only 25 minutes into the hour-long meet and greet. And she was rude. The food was great, but no one bothered to listen to the staff that was trying to manage the lines (definitely not the fault of the staff). Once inside the stadium, it was AWESOME. The concerts were fantastic. And the game was one of the best hockey games that I had seen in a long time. The focus on NEW JERSEY in all of the music and presentations was perfect. We had great seats to see the Jonas Brothers, the house band, the HOCKEY GAME itself, and all of the other festivities. I wasn't sure if the whole experience would be worth the price tag...but, it absolutely was. If my team plays in another outdoor game, I will definitely be there!
