For the first time in League history, the National Hockey League (NHL) will host outdoor hockey in Florida. Celebrating the explosive growth of hockey in Florida over the last three decades, the League will stage two outdoor games in the Sunshine State during the 2025-26 season with the Tampa Bay Lightning hosting the Boston Bruins in the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series at Raymond James Stadium on Feb. 1, 2026.
The 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series is the Lightning's second outdoor game appearance, and the Bruins' sixth. Tampa Bay scored a 3-2 victory over the Nashville Predators at Nissan Stadium in Nashville at the 2022 NHL Stadium Series while Boston owns a 4-1 record in outdoor games dating back to the 2010 NHL Winter Classic, a 3-2 overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers at Fenway Park.
Went with my husband and kids, despite the extreme cold it was a great time. Only issue we had was bathroom lines being way too long.
Everything was great except poor traffic control which surprised us considering that many people show up at Ohio Stadium every week each fall.
I traveled from Norway to Ohio to se Stadium series my experience was fantastic. Great arrangement. Memomry for life.
The Stadium Series Outdoor Game exceeded all expectations! I don’t have any idea how it could have been improved upon, with regards to the details. Well done, NHL, well done! Now, don’t wait 25 yrs for the next one - get Pittsburgh in here in less than 10 yrs please!
Overall, it was a great experience. My only gripe was the portajohns. It was freezing and a bit windy and there was no reprieve from it, even to use the restroom. All in all, it was a great thing to give my husband for his early birthday present.
First of all, the game was great as was the atmosphere. The "host", who I think called himself the Professor, was just awful. He was dressed like a carny and should have been shot from a cannon. We did not need his over the top interruptions during the breaks and his sidekick was just about as obnoxious. We did not need these hijinks as they really cheapened the experience. Finally, I know there needed to be some OSU references, but there was a bit too much emphasis on the Buckeyes especially during the second intermission. Next time, more Jackets, less Buckeyes.
An experience to have at least once - NHL outdoor hockey! Great game, great experience.
Great time, lovely and historic venue. Couldn’t have chosen a better night to beat any team up north :)
Staff was fast and friendly. Great event, and concert. Better hot beverage options that were actually hot would be nice and less down time, but great event overrall.
Awesome atmosphere tons of people and cool to see the mix between Ohio state and Columbus blue jackets. Everything from the events before till then end of the game was action packed and tons of fun.
The weather, stadium, setting, 94,751 fans, pregame, game, postgame made a once in a lifetime memory. Wow!
The game outdoors was cool, but freezing! The stadium is ill equipped to handle cold or windy weather. It was also OSU branded. Using the schools president as a feature and the football team was involved. It was very weird to be at a NHL game but constantly talking about and seeing the OSU college football team and branding. Not a fan of the cross over.
Game was awesome but the blend of all the different Ohio State and Blue Jackets traditions was the icing on the cake
The NHL actually hit it out of the park with this one. Facilities still need some work for winter events but otherwise it was amazing
Everything was outstanding and we had a great time. The only problem I had personally was that there was too much Ohio St stuff going on. The script Ohio on the ice and a few other things were ok but I thought they overdid it with too much other stuff. I am not an Ohio State fan so it hits me different than most. I understand the tie in with the game being in Ohio Stadium but I felt like they overshadowed the Blue Jackets. That game was about them and should have focused more on the great story of the CBJ and not as much on the buckeyes.
Loved being in the stadium watching the blue jackets win, but the intense focus on OSU and their sports teams instead of on the NHL, CBJ, and RW, didn't make a lot of sense to me.
Good game until the refs decided to not call the blatant penalty on CB for taking down Edvinsson prior to scoring. Guess the NHL wanted the BJs.
Kudos to the NHL, OSU, the Red Wings and our CBJ for putting on a truly amazing event. Being able to share this experience with my sons is a core memory for me. This caps a list of so many great memories with the CBJ that I have been a part of; the very first game, the first playoff game win, the ‘07 Draft and the ‘15 ASG. Now bring on The Cup!
Even though it was super cold out, this hockey game was so much fun! With all of the fan fast activities, the 21 Pilots concert during the first and second periods and all the tributes to Johnny Gaudreaux this couldn’t have been a better experience. My only complaint would be they need a bigger space for the fan fest activities. Cramming 90,000 people in there got to be a little crazy.
This was our first time attending a Stadium Series hockey game and we will do it again!
