About

For the first time in League history, the National Hockey League (NHL) will host outdoor hockey in Florida. Celebrating the explosive growth of hockey in Florida over the last three decades, the League will stage two outdoor games in the Sunshine State during the 2025-26 season with the Tampa Bay Lightning hosting the Boston Bruins in the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series at Raymond James Stadium on Feb. 1, 2026.

The 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series is the Lightning's second outdoor game appearance, and the Bruins' sixth. Tampa Bay scored a 3-2 victory over the Nashville Predators at Nissan Stadium in Nashville at the 2022 NHL Stadium Series while Boston owns a 4-1 record in outdoor games dating back to the 2010 NHL Winter Classic, a 3-2 overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers at Fenway Park.

  • Awesome Spectacle

by Scott on 2/25/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

Once inside the gate I’ve never experienced anything like it. The parking and getting into the stadium were horrible. As a NCSU football season ticket holder, the parking and ticket checking could have been done entirely differently.

  • It's a spectacle that is good to attend once

by Jason G on 2/24/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

Hockey sight lines are better indoors. The parking was mismanaged. The crowd control was mismanaged. Both have ample room for improvement. Restroom lines for portable toilets were extreme in the parking lot. It's like they had no clue how many tickets were sold for their own event. The tailgating was enjoyable. Once inside it was like they sold two tickets for each seat. Sitting was not feasible because of such. I did not observe a single event staffer checking tickets for seats, parking, entry to the event nor the metal detector functionality upon entry. The show and the hockey was good. I'm glad I went once but I'll catch the next outdoor event on TV.

  • Parking and traffic inexcusable

by Doc on 2/24/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 2 out of 5

So i prepaid for parking and never got to use it. Was turned sway said lots full .Absolutely no traffic control after the game. Sat 45 minutes no movement. Took 90 minutes to go 1.5 miles to get in st 315pm over 4 hours before the event also. Not sure who to blame but it was a joke. And dont tell its infrastructure because at state fair eith a football game its never been like that. The game itself was awesome.

  • Very Cool !

Long time coming. Hopefully a Stadium Series game will come back to Raleigh at Carter Finley Stadium sooner than later.

  • Awesome

by Little Richie on 2/23/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the game and loved NC States marching band and dance team. Stood up the entire game. I give the event a perfect 10!

  • Where’s The Sound?

by VB CANIACS on 2/23/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

The atmosphere was EPIC from the get go of team introductions to the National Anthem & to the most amazing Fly By ever. The CANES showed those Caps how it’s done. With a sweet victory of 4-1. Problem: Where in the heck was the sound system? We the fans in the stadium did NOT hear any play by play action. It was complete silence. We did hear the buzzer go off when our beloved Canes scored a goal. The build up to this game & the amount of cash we the fans laid down for it. You’d think the event planners could get all their ducks in a row. Idk if this is the norm, with no sound. Considering this was my first time being at a stadium series event. Nevertheless, best part of the nite: SKOL CLAP 👏🏼 I look forward to that every home game win. LET’S GO CANES!!!

  • Okay experience

by mcarlin on 2/23/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

There was disorganization with getting into the stadium. No crowd control. Parking was even worse.

  • It was a great experience and show!!

by Kate D. on 2/22/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

The whole day was a lot of fun! From tailgating to the pregame, the college football touches at an outdoor hockey game, the National anthem and the jet flyover, the fireworks and lighting and the giant American Flag on the Ice, it was all a great show. The hockey game was great too, but then again I was rooting for the team who won 4 - 1. The one thing I wasn't crazy about was that we were packed into the stadium like sardines and to see the game, we had to stand the entire game. It was a great experience but 57,000 people packed into a relatively small stadium wasn't that comfortable. I may not go a second time. But I sure don't regret going the first time. :-)

  • The tale of 2 experiences

by Loving Traffic on 2/22/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 2 out of 5

There are 2 stories here - one great & one not so great. In my life I have been very blessed, having season football tickets to NCST, the University of Tennessee, the Carolina Panthers, the Carolina Hurricanes, NCST, Duke, & UT basketball tickets, not to mention attending Multiple Final Fours, Superbowl's, and the biggest concerts in the country. I certainly do not considerer myself a traffic control expert, but attending 1000's of events over the last 30 years at the Arena complex as well as other venues around the country - the handling of the fans arriving to the Arena Complex was a complete failure. Gail Force Holdings, the Hurricanes, & NCST hold many events at the complex ever year & the failure of the NHL to hire / employee those groups to mange the traffic was a sin. The traffic issue of narrowing down Eastbound I-40, West bound Wade, & South Bound Edwards Mill, as well as side streets to one lane with 1 officer is just poor planning. For all the things absolutely great about the entire weekend- the Fan Zone, The parade, the Friday downtown events, the Stadium, the music, the Hurricane WIN, the traffic disaster will unfortunately be my #1 memory.

  • TOTALLY AWESOME event.

by CheyB on 2/22/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Canes fans are the best, the loudest & we show up in large numbers to support this amazing team!!!!! Let’s do it again!!!

  • Stadium Series

by Kat on 2/22/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

I would have rated it 5 stars except for these reasons: Traffic was horrible, I paid for parking but noone checked it, we could not hear anything due to the speakers and drinks were all spilled due to the concession staff members having to remove them. The overall experience was excellent.

  • Fantastic event…. But the journey could use some improvemen

by Skevins on 2/22/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

Game itself…. A+++. Getting into the game… debacle. Huge lines with small number of scanners that were useless as we were going through with our keys and phones and alarms going off everywhere. Getting to the game…. Debacle. No police directing traffic at the time NHL told everyone to start going (2p). What is typically 3 lanes of traffic entering PNC off Edwards Mills Road was one lane.

  • Experience of a Lifetime!

    by DBarCheck3 on 2/22/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

From start to finish this event was hands down the best sporting event we've attended in many years! Events that were planned early in the day to the actual hockey game at night all exceeded our expectations! The only thing that would have made it better was the parking situation. That was awful.

  • Fantastic

by MJ on 2/22/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Minus traffic & parking issues & poor sound system at the Carter-Finley field, it was the BEST event I’ve ever attended. Better than a SuperBowl game. Activities for all ages. The fly over, fireworks and friendly staff & fans made for a fabulous experience. The NCST band was truly enthusiastic - something new & positive for a hockey game! Hope they attend more Canes games - entertainment in between periods!!! Overall = Outstanding.

  • Shame on the NHL

    by F. N. on 2/22/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 2 out of 5

Glad the Canes won...that was the highlight. With all the media hype and expectations....well, parking and restrooms were a total nightmare and joke. Over 2 hours to park! Not acceptable. Highway Patrol officers were not directing anything. And the NHL should have leased EVERY pot-a-potty in the state for this game. There should have been trailers and trailers of restrooms. NHL--You know better so therefore you should DOOOOOO better. This was my first and my last outdoor hockey event.

  • Epic Night

by Mitch on 2/22/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

It exceeded the hype. Epic and historical night. The Hurricanes, NCSU and Raleigh hit it out of the park!! What a night.

  • It was good and also not so good

by Eileen on 2/22/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

The parking was a nightmare. And leaving was even worse. I quit counting after the 12th time the light turned green and the cops wouldn’t let us go. The acoustics were terrible. We really couldn’t understand what they were sanding at any point. The stadium seating was TINY. We all had winter coats on so we were all sardined into our row. Lots of rows had people who wouldn’t even consider the # seat they were supposed to be in and just spread out. The people in the end of at least 3 rows left bc no one would scoot down to make room. We waited on the merchandise line at the pre game for over an hour to find they sold out of everything we wanted before it was our turn. We decided to get to the game early to get in that merch line, but it was the longest craziest line again. All the merch lines were like that. Choice of food and beer was great. Staff were very nice. Opening show was great. It was fun to be in the college setting with the band, dance squad, cheerleaders, etc. The wait for the bathroom was never bad.

  • The good, the bad and the ugly

by TrueBloodLeo on 2/22/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

The good: the Hurricanes organization, and the team are fantastic. The venue was, of course, very nice. And the events within the stadium were excellent. Tailgating with friends was definitely part of the fun. The bad. I do wish people did not stand throughout the whole game as it block the view for children of all ages and older adults who just couldn’t stand the whole game. I am sure I am not alone and people who left the game early because of this. Fan fest needed more activities, given the volume of people at the event. The ugly: the traffic and parking logistics were are a nightmare. If we handle evacuation for a hurricane this badly, everyone will die. Seriously folks, hire a traffic consultant, utilize shuttle buses from multiple directions for this or any other city that an event like this is hosted. And include the price of parking in the ticket. Nobody looked at the tickets anyway.

  • Stadium Series @ Raleigh, NC - Capitals vs Hurricanes

by Rom on 2/22/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

Overall, a wonderful experience and Raleigh/Durham is a beautiful area. Had a great time. Some issues were the internet availability at the stadium. Many were having difficulty recalling their electronic tickets through the internet. It was very difficult. Need to improve internet access at the stadium. Also, there were a lack of directions to find your seat. Groups of seats were actually 2 sections and seat #1 was in the middle of the row. It was very confusing to find your seat and be in the correct section. This was also not made clear when buying tickets through the internet.

  • One helluva experience!!!
