About

For the first time in League history, the National Hockey League (NHL) will host outdoor hockey in Florida. Celebrating the explosive growth of hockey in Florida over the last three decades, the League will stage two outdoor games in the Sunshine State during the 2025-26 season with the Tampa Bay Lightning hosting the Boston Bruins in the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series at Raymond James Stadium on Feb. 1, 2026.

The 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series is the Lightning's second outdoor game appearance, and the Bruins' sixth. Tampa Bay scored a 3-2 victory over the Nashville Predators at Nissan Stadium in Nashville at the 2022 NHL Stadium Series while Boston owns a 4-1 record in outdoor games dating back to the 2010 NHL Winter Classic, a 3-2 overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers at Fenway Park.

  • Amazing experience. Could use improvement

by Israel Gulko on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 3 out of 5

Pros: - Seating and views of the ice were better than expected. - overall environment created by you guys and the fans was great - the marketing of the event was great. Built up a lot of hype and excitement - food and drinks were great Cons: - stadium speakers were hard to hear - concert/stage lighting made the concert very difficult to see

  • Go for the fanfare, not to watch the hockey.

by Raymond M. on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 4 out of 5

Fun and cool event. Awesome atmosphere. Loved all the pregame stuff, live music, tailgating and outdoor aspect- even in the cold. It’s a real spectacle. 72,000 people at a hockey game! As I expected though, the hockey sight lines are awful. Unless you’re paying for box seats at some crazy price, the rink is just small and far away. Lower level corners even had a bit of obstructed view because of the boards. When the puck was at the far corner you’re basically just watching on the Jumbotron. Overall it was a lot of fun, but be warned- it’s NOT a good experience for watching a game. Go for everything else, and just enjoy the atmosphere and fanfare. If you actually want to watch live hockey, you can grab way better seats at Prudential for 1/3 the price.

  • Fantastic

Absolutely fantastic event. I wish the NHL would do this every year in this area.

  • Once in a Lifetime Experience

by Jackie NJ on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Seeing hockey played outdoors, with my family of lifelong NJ Devils fans, was an amazing experience. If the Stadium Series comes around again, I highly recommend it.

  • Mostly Good

by QZ on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 4 out of 5

Event staff didn't prevent people from walking up/down the stairs while play was going on. Constantly trying to look around people to see the game. Otherwise a good event.

  • Pucking Awesome

by Kenzieshaylee on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

A wonderful experience for hockey fans of all ages. I tagged along to watch the game even though I am not a fan of either team playing and it was still a blast. Truly a full blown experience from tailgating to the end of the game.

  • What an absolute blast.

by Bmossy on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Took my son to our first stadium series game and what an absolute blast. He had the time of his life. We loved every minute. It also helped that New Jersey won the game.

  • Good game but too cold

by Willow on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 3 out of 5

The hockey game was really good but sadly it was way too cold to enjoy everything

  • Really fun experience

  • Thrill of a lifetime

by MBB on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 4 out of 5

This event was an awesome experience from start to finish. Much thought went into the presentation and it showed. Having the concert beforehand was an extra added bonus, and it too was fantastic. Great job NHL. It was a showcase. The stadium itself needs to address the concessions. They were very slow. People behind the counters standing around doing nothing or waiting for the food to be prepared. A stadium of this size should have that process figured out a lot better than they did at this event.

  • Stadium Series

Had a great time at the game yesterday. Took my grandson for his first outdoor game. It was a blast. I’d like to get an actual paper game ticket. Anyone know how?

  • Great Hockey

by winantma on 10/23/23Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first game at a Stadium Series and it was a great event for everyone. My friends and I really enjoyed all the live music and activities before the game. I flew in to see my team the Tampa Bay Lighting and they did not disappoint. When the game started there was more live music and a few of may favorite artist played. Everyone that attended with me said it was a very memorable event.

  • Great atmosphere

by EC on 3/17/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

The atmosphere tailgating and at the game was fantastic. However, the sound and video experience was abysmal. The video board had outages. They didn’t utilize the sound system so you could only hear announcements if you were on the lower level.

  • Game was great. NHL Laid an egg on planning.

by Tom R on 3/11/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

The game was great. The parking lot /tailgate and traffic before/after the event were shameful. 45 minute waits to use the bathrooms before the game and no traffic plan after the game. The NHL dropped the ball/puck on planning since they took on this responsibility for this event. They failed miserably.

  • Perfect

    by M. B. on 3/8/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Great game, we were the literal last row in the stadium but there wasn’t a bad seat in the house. Canes played incredible, marching band was great, all around awesome time and the fan fest downtown the night before was awesome

  • Worst Ever

    by Serious_About_NHL on 2/28/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 1 out of 5

The experience at Carter Finley was the typical PNC Arena experience only 10 time worse. There was insufficient parking at the venue due to the huge amount of parking taken by tailgating. Traffic around the arena was horrible and access for ride share was an absolute nightmare. As with PNC arena, I was almost struck by motor vehicles speeding in the parking areas before and after the game. Several different pieces of information were provided about rideshare pickup / drop-off location which were conflicting in nature from the NHL, the arena and the Hurricanes. 20 Minute wait for any access to toilet and concession. Fearing the long wait to leave the arena I left at the start of the 3rd period to access rideshare and still did not get out of the arena until well after 10:44PM. The view in the stadium was horrible and there were no large monitors to view play in view from my section. The two large monitors in the stadium were directly behind the section and there was no visibility of play. The basics for NHL events were missing. There were no time entries on any monitor for Power Play indicators by team and time remaining in power play. The Hurricanes fans were also quite rude and obnoxious, as usual, the reason I no longer patronize the Hurricanes Franchise, nor will I ever again.

  • Great experience despite the logistical problems....

by Lori Z on 2/27/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

We were so thrilled to be able to attend the NHL stadium series and cheer on the Carolina Hurricanes to victory! The spirit of the day was unbelievably positive and the experience was unforgettable! Thankfully, people showed up with lots of positivity and enthusiasm because it was sorely needed given the huge problems with traffic entering the parking lot (it took us 2 hours to get into the parking lot). It seemed that no police presence had been set up to coincide with the opening of the lots. A similarly long and disorganized entrance into the stadium followed at game time. In future stadium series events, the NHL would do well to organize better with the local authorities in order to handle the hordes of fans that want to come cheer on their home team as well as those visiting from other areas.

  • Great Event But Logistics Could Have Been Better

by EO on 2/27/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

Parking was a disaster. At 5 pm, many of the lots were already "full" even though there appeared to be lots of spots available. We lucked out and found a lot that was just starting to fill up across the road but that was a mess because the lot attendants were backing everyone into spots on a dirt field and it took too much time. We made our way to the Truly Pre-Game event which was very cool but we waited in line for AN HOUR to buy drinks because the credit card machines kept losing service. By the time we got our drinks we had to finish them quickly and head over to the stadium instead of getting food and enjoying the band like we had planned. We walked to the main entrance for the stadium and it was a sea of people. Luckily we had seen an entrance on the other side when and entered quickly once we walked around. Many people didn't get to their seats until almost puck drop. Finally, none of the stadium attendants seemed to know how to find our section. It took us about 20 minutes to find someone who could tell us where our section was. The bleacher seats were very cramped and it was very annoying to have people going in and out of the rows constantly during the game.

  • 95% greatness 5% horrible (that 5% was really, really bad)

by Rob M. on 2/26/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

I don't know who to blame for the inbound traffic and the parking debacle. I've heard it was NC State running parking and I've heard it was the NHL. I have a hard time believing it was NC State as they have a ton of experience getting people in and out of the facility for sold out football games. We left early to get there around 2:30 and spent 2.5 hours just sitting on Wade Ave. We ended up missing the ability to be part of the pre-game party, but we got to our seats on time. Who ever was responsible for this, must not manage traffic again if we get another Stadium Series game. But after that, it was perfection.

  • Terrible Seats misleading

by jo on 2/25/23Carter Finley Stadium - RaleighRating: 1 out of 5

I got tickets in section 15 at the Game I didn’t know that they were Blecher seats I would never have bought then. I got seats 1-4 and they were in the middle of the section right next to the next section with no room in between! They over sold the seats and it was so cramped that you could barely move! It took over an hour to get into the stadium! I have be to both outdoor games that the Caps hosted! They definitely had problems but this was ridiculously out of control! The women’s bathrooms were a mess!
