About

For the first time in League history, the National Hockey League (NHL) will host outdoor hockey in Florida. Celebrating the explosive growth of hockey in Florida over the last three decades, the League will stage two outdoor games in the Sunshine State during the 2025-26 season with the Tampa Bay Lightning hosting the Boston Bruins in the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series at Raymond James Stadium on Feb. 1, 2026.

The 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series is the Lightning's second outdoor game appearance, and the Bruins' sixth. Tampa Bay scored a 3-2 victory over the Nashville Predators at Nissan Stadium in Nashville at the 2022 NHL Stadium Series while Boston owns a 4-1 record in outdoor games dating back to the 2010 NHL Winter Classic, a 3-2 overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers at Fenway Park.

  • An experience ruined by fans next to us

by Ben on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 1 out of 5

The fans behind us were screaming slurs and hate speech at each other for the entire first period around my friends children. We had to put in a complaint and ill give credit to the security folks for coming up and helping. Overall the experience was ruined by the drunk fans.

  • Best Time But Cold

by Jess on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

It was an excellent experience. The game was wonderful and lots of fun and the staff were excellent. It was just super cold which nobody could control.

  • Absolutely amazing

by sarter on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

I have spoken with many people and we all agree this should be an annual event here in the metro region. so much fun and great vibes in the hockey world

  • One of my favorite NHL games

by Katlyn on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

This was crazy fun and I hope they continue to do these.

  • An outdoor extravaganza

by Mark Checki on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

I loved it. I was never happier after having sat in an hour and a half of traffic after getting off. The sight lines were pretty good for the distance away from the ice and the game itself was a great one with the Devils winning. Kudos to the Stadium for heating the bathrooms and the team stores so fans had a warm weather refuge. I always wondered what it would be like to go to an outdoor NHL game. I don't have to anymore and I would do it again.

  • Great event

by Zmichaels on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

This was such a great event , looking forward to a few years from now if it ever comes back.

  • Great Event, but....

by Waffles on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 4 out of 5

Great event, great venue, great corporate tailgating and around the arena activities, great concert, OUTSTANDING CHOICE having Gaslight Anthem there for the home team live goal song performance. Nice to see the red & black back in East Rutherford for one. Good to have an outdoor game opportunity. The only issue (but not a hard no) is why it was at 8pm in mid-February? Was the decision on puck drop time contingent on having a 90 minute concert, which would be more dramatic post-sunset? Though we all layered, and there wasn't a polar vortex, and the snow nicely stopped around noon, an earlier game start would have made the whole day perfect!

  • Fabulous

by Bob on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

The Metlife staff was kind courteous helpful and concerned.

  • An amazing experience

by Bilbo Swaggins on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Such an amazing experience. Well designed and planned, not completely ridiculously expensive. Had a fantastic time!

  • Great time

by Go devils on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Everything was well done. Game was fantastic but tailgating was epic.

  • Great series

by Terry on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 4 out of 5

Can’t ask for a better environment to watch hockey than outdoors in a stadium. The event was spectacular from start to finish. My only beef is the parking directions sucked, and road workers were not helpful for non-locals to actually get in to a parking lot

  • Great Job

by DJB on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

The Devils - Flyers Stadium series game was a great evening. The planners really did a great job - from the two concerts to the fireworks to the pregame festivities. The NJ theme was much appreciated. Jake Clemens was awesome and it was great to have Max Weinberg there on drums and leading a Devils cheer. Other than the extreme cold, which could not be avoided, the evening was a great success. The fact that the Devils won didn't hurt either.

  • Meh

by Kenz on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 3 out of 5

The concert was a let down. I can’t believe they sang the same songs over ago. Also the microphones were not working well I could barely hear the songs

  • Sound was the worst !

by Jenn on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 2 out of 5

What an exciting event and game. Once in a lifetime opportunity but we could not hear anything at all from the speakers and we were in the lower section. Everyone was complaining about it! Kinda ruined the experience

  • Devils vs Flyers

by Joe Joe B. on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Devils versus Flyers was a great game and the entertainment between periods by Gaslight Anthem and Jonas Brothers was great. The way everything was set up and organized was great. The Jonas Brothers pregame was also good. The overall atmosphere of the stadium was fantastic.

  • Very good experience.

by Dave on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 4 out of 5

Everything was really good about this experience. It was fun to watch a hockey game at an outdoor stadium. I think they did a really good job of setting up the rink and making the fan experience enjoyable. I would like to see them do this again next year. Its unique that they are able to have two games on back-to-back days and maybe next year mix up the four teams that played this year. The only disappointing part of the experience was the sound quality for the Jonas Brothers concert was terrible which was surprising given how many big concerts have played at MetLife.

  • Amazing

by FlyersAnon on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

This was a great event. I highly recommend making it got an outdoor hockey game.

  • The game was the thing!

by Less is more on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 4 out of 5

I came for the hockey. The music, faux park setting, in-stadium contests, street hockey rinks, live MCs etc were extraneous and added nothing to my enjoyment of the game.

  • Best sports game, that turned into a concert, ever!

by JoeyFuego on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 5 out of 5

Im so glad that Ticketmaster didn’t advertise where the band was going to be set up! Lol The Gaslight Anthem performing “Howl” for every Devils’ goal was absolutely unreal! The crowd at 70k and outdoors was crazy! I’d go again in a heartbeat! Thank you!

  • Very one sided

by Just a fan on 2/20/24MetLife Stadium - East RutherfordRating: 2 out of 5

I get that it was in Jersey but shouldnt this series be evenly promoted I could easily tell when the devils scored but couldnt tell when the flyers did.. pretty one sided not necessarily fair when there was evenly amount of fans for both teams.. a lot of missed calls and a lot of commercial breaks
