They delivered the papers, until they made the headlines…Direct from Broadway comes NEWSIES, the smash-hit, crowd-pleasing new musical from Disney. (The New York Times) Filled with one heart-pounding number after another, it's a high-energy explosion of song and dance you just don't want to miss.
Based on true events, NEWSIES tells the captivating story of a band of underdogs who become unlikely heroes when they stand up to the most powerful men in New York. It's a rousing tale about fighting for what's right…and staying true to who you are.

This was my third time seeing Newsies and it was just as amazing as the first two. Newsies sparked my inspiration for pursuing a career in theatre and I'm so glad that I got to see it with multiple casts. The choreography was unbelievable and every song can get stuck in your head: there isn't a single annoying one! The vocal microphones could've been a little bit louder because they were slightly overpowered by the orchestra at a few points, but I could still understand what the actors were singing. The one annoying thing was that the show switched venues from the Oriental Theatre in Chicago to the Cadillac Palace in Chicago and the seats I was switched to weren't even in the same section. Though they were still in the "orchestra", they were orchestra-right when I initially chose orchestra-center. The seats were still good, but I was very excited to be able to sit in the 4th row front-and-center, which I ultimately couldn't do. The other thing was that I bought my seats before general sale with a code and wouldn't have been able to switch them until general sale, at which point all the center seats would've already sold out. The only reason this review isn't five stars is because of the seating issue. It's not a reflection on the actual show.
This was an action packed show with a lot of musical numbers through out the production. The acting was very good and not overacted. I'd recommend it to a wide range of ages.
Amazing show with something for everyone! Awesome music, fantastic dancing, memorablee music and a cast that s second to none. I highly recommend this show for everyone!
Absolutely fantastic show with continuous parts that amaze you over and over. Would definitely recommend this to anyone interested!
This was one of my favorite shows I've seen in Chicago. The dancing was simply amazing and the actors were superb.
This is a great show. Most people I talk to have never heard of it, but it is well worth the price of admission. And I am NOT a teenage girl. Awesome voices and amazing dance moves.
This was an energetic and engaging musical with terrific dancing and singing.
Amazing dancing and singing. Perfect show for someone who's never been to a Broadway show before. Amazing for all ages!!!
An amazing execution of a fantastic script and choreography!
I went to see this because I love the movie. That being said I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about changes from movie. Thankfully most of the changes were for the better, but some of the little ones annoyed me, like why did they change a lyric from stupid to nitwit?!?!? The casting was phenomenal, and they were all exceptionally talented. I think anyone who enjoys musicals will enjoy this show. The dancers/acrobats were better than I can describe.
This is a high energy production. Great acting & dancing . . . also staging. a Must See!!!
The dancing was so upbeat and moving. Made you want to tap your feet. The staging was nicely done. The flips and splits added to all the dancing. Great show all around.
My friend and I came into the show late and soon got caught up to speed. What fabulous dancing and the story line was great! I highly recommend the show. You will feel happy and uplifted after!
I love this musical. It was absolutely excellent. Must See!!!!
This was an excellent musical with strong singing, a good storyline, and surprisingly good dancing.
We absolutely loved the story in this musical: perseverance, character, strength, and friendship. The dancing was spectacular. It is just a fun musical with a great story.
There are not very many productions that captivate children and adults but Newsies does that and more. Great choreographed numbers, music was great and you cannot have a Disney experience without a happy ending! Worth the time for the family (minus a couple of "bad" words); note if this were a movie it would likely be PG-13 but very light hearted and fun.
One my favorites to see here in chicago. Great cast
This is the fourth time I have seen "Newsies" and this was the best one yet. My only disappointment was with the post-show merchandise. We bought a pair of sweat pants that were touted as "one size" and were told they were a small. They should have said a "small" child size, as my petite 5-foot size 3 daughter cannot even get into them! Yet they had an extra 8-10" of length - they are made for a 6-foot spider monkey, apparently! There goes $35 down the drain. But the show is AMAZING!!!
