New York Red Bulls History

Born as the New York/New Jersey MetroStars, the New York Red Bulls have been with Major League Soccer from the inaugural season in 1996. Some of the biggest names in soccer have worn the colors of the MetroStars/Red Bulls, including the team's first player Tab Ramos, who doubled as the league’s first-ever signee. Also among New York alumni are U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team players Tony Meola, Tim Howard, Jozy Altidore, Claudio Reyna, and Clint Mathis. The Red Bulls have also boasted international talent from the likes of German great Lothar Matthäus in 2000, and French superstar Thierry Henry, who played 135 matches with the team to close out his playing career in 2014.

New York reached its first MLS Cup finals match in 2008 but fell to the Columbus Crew 3-1. The franchise hit a hot streak between 2010 to 2018 when the Red Bulls finished atop the Eastern Conference five times. Within that period, New York claimed three Supporters’ Shields and advanced to their second U.S. Open Cup final in 2017, where they were defeated by Sporting Kansas City, 2-1. Individually, striker Bradley Wright-Phillips earned Golden Boots in 2014 and 2016, while Luis Robles was awarded Goalkeeper of the Year in 2015.

    Would go back

by JRP on 5/12/23Montclair State University - Montclair

Pros- great ticket price to see the Red Bulls, small venue with good views from any seat, FREE parking, we felt safe, plenty of clean port-o-potties but would have preferred "real" bathrooms Cons- seating sections not labeled clearly, food/drink concessions was a mess- had only one lonnnnng line, people didn't know where to go or were cutting and it moved very slowly- had plenty of people working it but needed to be spread out more. Overall would go back

Ny vs. Columbus Crew 3/18/23 (amazing)

    by M on 4/17/23

Tickets were cheap for amazing seats. The atmosphere wasn't dead (I heard sometimes it could be) and the stadium is nice. The food was decent, but the lines for the shop and to get a custom Jersey were long. (It was a minor problem) The best part is that the Red Bulls won! GO NY RED BULLS!

Room for a lot of improvement

by Jay on 4/11/23Red Bull Arena - Harrison

Parking experience needs to definitely get better. Memorabilia, fan store to have much better selection, food/beverage is average. Soda machine was all out. Spoke to 3 different people on getting it fixed and one looked at the other trying to find out or getting someone to fix it. Finally, it was fixed but it was all flat. After waiting for 10 min I was finally directed to use the next machine down the hall.

The greatest game ever but the food and beer are high

by Nick Purcell on 10/12/22Red Bull Arena - Harrison

The greatest game ever, but the concessions food and beer prices are too high. Highly recommend that you tailgate or sit on the Red Bull Arena premises benches to eat and have beer and other booze before the gates open, and after you exit. Remember: Designated drivers are a great idea, sober isn’t an accident, drunk driving is accidental murder (manslaughter) but all parties in the vehicle still get charged with manslaughter and DWI and DUI.

    First time at event

by The Don's on 9/7/22Red Bull Arena - Harrison

Buying tickets were easy, was disappointed and amazed to see how empty the stadium was on a Saturday night for a so called big game.Getting to stadium was straightforward enough, food and drink while at stadium is very expensive and well overpriced for what you get, merchandise again was lacking no replica tops available, and again very expensive for what it is, atmosphere in stadium was poor due to lack of fans,is it too expensive? Could they cut prices to get fans in and create a better atmosphere

    Great time at the game

by CB on 8/30/22Red Bull Arena - Harrison

I went to the game with 3 10 yr old boys and we all had a blast. The arena is beautiful and the game had great energy. It helped that the Red Bulls won. The food wasn’t the best and was overpriced, so we will eat before we go next time. Also, parking is a nightmare, so take the Path or train.

One of the best stadiums in the NY Metro Area

by Metro Man 96 on 8/23/22Red Bull Arena - Harrison

Red Bull Arena is one of the best stadiums in the tri state area. Not a bad seat in the house and good value for the upper deck tickets. Food and beer options all over the stadium and the Bull shop has a huge selection. Only thing I have an issue with is that the concourse can get crowded during larger games so you just have to plan a bit more to walk around

    Bonding with my grandson

by Olde Brit on 8/5/22Red Bull Arena - Harrison

I purchased two front row seats in Section 124 for my grandson's 13th birthday. Neither of us had been to a game in Harrison before. These very reasonably priced tickets were basically next to the field. What an experience for us both! Many great goals were scored - sadly one more by the visitors. But it was an exhilarating evening being right in the action. Thank you Red Bulls.`

    Disappointed ending of game

by IT on 8/2/22Red Bull Arena - Harrison

As game is about to end, hooligans take over and spoil the evening. People running on the field and security not reacting quick enough before it got out of hand. It took police and state troopers to restore order. Additionally, parking was a nightmare. No supervision and people out of control everywhere. Unsafe. Took over an hour and a half to get out of lot

Great game but disappointed with Ticketmaster

by Best Barca Fan on 8/2/22Red Bull Arena - Harrison

We paid top dollars for seats in the lower level section to the right of the goal. No where during the ticket purchasing process was it indicated that these seats are actually not seats but standing room only! The seats were available but bracketed and locked so we couldn’t use them at all and had to stand the whole entire game. It was frustrating and we felt cheated. Luckily it was Barcelona so we enjoyed that experience to see them live.

    Stadium is Disorganized

by Cassiy on 5/31/22Red Bull Arena - Harrison

The game was great but the stadium was not organized at all. They said the Biergarten would open 3 hours before the game and they never opened. The staff was supposed to open the gates 1 hour before the game and they didn’t. So a lot of people were waiting around until 30 min before the game before they let anyone in. They should notify people if they are not opening up the Biergarten and if they are late to open doors. The food choices were decent. They can be improved though. The stadium was clean which was nice and everyone in the crowd was nice. If you are taking an Uber, note that you have to walk over the bridge because they close the roads to incoming cars after the game.
