It was a great Home opening game, although Liberty almost slipped in the fourth quarter by allowing the Chicago Sky catch up. HOWEVER, WE WON - YAY FOR LIBERTY!!!

New York Liberty History
The New York Liberty are one of three active founding franchises in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Liberty have made six WNBA Finals appearances, in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2023 and 2024, and topped the Eastern Conference seven times. In 2023, the team captured the in-season Commissioner's Cup behind a Finals MVP performance by Jonquel Jones, and later, Breanna Stewart became the first Liberty player to win the WNBA Most Valuable Player award. New York returned to the Commissioner’s Cup Final in 2024, but fell to the Minnesota Lynx. The two teams met again in the 2024 WNBA Finals, where the Liberty claimed their first title. Jones was named the series MVP, and after the season, Stewart was selected to the All-WNBA First Team while Jones and Sabrina Ionescu made the All-WNBA Second Team.

Great Game!
by ManhattanTwinDad on 5/17/10Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5Took my twin 5 year old daughters for their first professional sporting event. They had a blast... want to go again. The game was close 3 out of 4 quarters... nail biter 'till the end.
Great time!
by Fan9999 on 5/17/10Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5Being a Rutger's fan, my reason for going to the game was to cheer on the 3 former RU players on the Liberty, Essence Carson, Kia Vaughn, and especially Cappie Pondexter. I was happily surprised at the high energy level throughout the game, including the time outs and commercial breaks. The dancers/cheerleaders, from the very young to the 'elder folk' were great! Very entertaining. Of course, the Liberty winning made it an even better experience. And Cappie leading the team in scoring was great. Welcome home Cappie! I'm looking forward to going to another Liberty game soon.
Mystics in NY at Madison Square Garden
by smkass on 9/14/09Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5Aside from the Mystics losing it was a good event. The venue is fun, crowd was enthusiastic and great intermission entertainment. Admittedly, in seat beer service was also a highlight.

Beasty Liberty
by jstluvbball on 9/14/09Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5Overall game was fantastic, NY Liberty came in strong - inspite of a few turn overs and errors - they brought their A game and played with heart, and everyone was determined to win. Everyone worked hard, (Carson was fantastic she was beasting), the treys were coming and swooshing from all angles of the 3 pointer lines. They were hustling and rebounding. It was a great end to the season, that you would wish not to end at all.
Always a great time for the family!
by SpazzGirlie on 9/14/09Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5While the NY Liberty didn't have the greatest season, they sure do know how to put on a show for their fans. Always a good game without fear of hearing anything you might at an NBA game. Can't wait for the spring! United We Play! Go Liberty!
Some good ball
by ezbunnies on 9/9/09Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5Even though the Liberty lost they still put up a good fight. The better of the two won.

The Liberty Rock !
by Metta on 8/31/09Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5The Liberty were at their best yesterday against the Chicago Sky (unlike the debacle of the Friday night away game at Chicago !) Janel was back and looking good and Sylvia Fowles of Chicago was still out with a sprained ankle so we thought right from the start that we had a bit of an edge. Sue Wicks and Kym Hampton were in the house and Ann Donovan is always a calming, but energetic influence. And the Liberty rocked !! What an exciting game - and our seats were fabulous (Court 28) thanks to Ticketmaster. We even had two friends show up at the box office that afternoon and they were kind enough to find them seats right near ours. So we had 9 cheering, ecstatic Liberty fans sitting courtside. A special thanks to Mary in Customer Service at Ticketmaster for her help with the Liberty tickets. I almost made the faux pas of securing seats right behind the Chicago bench (Court 19). Luckily, with Mary to the rescue I opted for Court 28 which were fabulous seats. I will definitely use Ticketmaster again in the future .... Thanks for a great game and a great day !!!
On the edge of our seats!
by Libertyfan112 on 8/28/09Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5The Liberty pulled out an amazing win over Connecticut and we were thrilled to be at the Garden cheering them on! We can't wait to go back to see them again. Keep those wins coming!

liberty play on par with their pay
by bighouse on 8/25/09Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5It was a thrill to be at a game were the team exhibited play that was on par with their pay. The Liberty came back from a sizeable point deficit without J-Mac. An additional bonus was watching a New York girl from "Shaolin"Staten Island representing the Minnesota Lynx. N. Anoisekie is future star in the WNBA.
Liberty Game was Spectacular !!
by Lexxie on 8/25/09Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5I really enjoyed the Liberty vs. Lynx game ! NY Liberty Huge Comeback!
by captain414 on 8/25/09Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5After allowing 30 points in the first quarter, the NY Libs took care of biz and beat the visiting Minnesota Lynx 80-67. Great seats behind the Lynx bench (first row)!
