New York Liberty History
The New York Liberty are one of three active founding franchises in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Liberty have made six WNBA Finals appearances, in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2023 and 2024, and topped the Eastern Conference seven times. In 2023, the team captured the in-season Commissioner's Cup behind a Finals MVP performance by Jonquel Jones, and later, Breanna Stewart became the first Liberty player to win the WNBA Most Valuable Player award. New York returned to the Commissioner’s Cup Final in 2024, but fell to the Minnesota Lynx. The two teams met again in the 2024 WNBA Finals, where the Liberty claimed their first title. Jones was named the series MVP, and after the season, Stewart was selected to the All-WNBA First Team while Jones and Sabrina Ionescu made the All-WNBA Second Team.

New York Liberty at Barclays Center
Barclays Center is the downtown Brooklyn home of the New York Liberty. The downtown Brooklyn digs, which the Liberty share with the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets, can house 17,732 at capacity. Led by New York Liberty mascot Ellie the Elephant, home games at Barclays Center will leave fans quaking with excitement.
