About

Rambunctious, Danish indie rockers New Politics formed in the late 2000s around the talents of vocalist David Boyd, guitarist/vocalist/keyboard player Søren H, and drummer Poul Amaliel. The band’s high-energy, guitar-driven blend of punk, pop, and electronically induced dance rock (Boyd specializes in wildly unpredictable stage posturing) eventually caught the ears (and eyes) of RCA, who signed the group in 2009. Fearing American anonymity, the band relocated to New York City, or more specifically, the indie rock center of the universe, Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Their self-titled debut full-length was released in July of 2010. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi

  • Extremely Entertaining

This concert was one of my favorites. Every act was awesome. I had previously seen Magic Man and they were just as entertaining to watch the second time. New politics put on an amazing show and really drew in the audience. You could tell how excited they were to play their music and it translated into an amazing show.

It was a great concert! I loved the opening acts so I didn't mind hearing more music but it made the new politics come out later. I didn't mind staying late in the end because the new politics put on a great show!

The concert was fantastic and they were so energetic. I bought a shirt from their merch guy and he was extremely helpful and nice. They gave you a ticket so you could meet New Politics after the show. You could choose between autographs or a picture. The guys gave me a hug and commented on my hair. SO NICE WILL BE SEEING AGAIN

  • New Politics - a night to remember!

    by Kim26 on 2/8/14Newport Music Hall - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was incredible. New Politics has an amazing energy on stage that translates much better live - their work is about the performance as well as the music. Breakdancing, guitar-tossing, crowdsurfing... Anything and everything was happening. Definitely a night to remember!

  • Their Songs Were In My Head The Next Day!

    by Zach1010101 on 2/8/14Newport Music Hall - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

The opening act Magic Man was even better than they were opening for walk the moon and it was awesome to see new politics be the main act. I saw them open for twenty one pilots, and they were MUCH better as a main act than an opening act

  • New Politics put on the best concert ever!

The concert was legendary. As soon as New Politics went on the stage the crowd went nuts. They put on an amazing show and kept the crowd amped for the whole night. They really connected with the crowd and interacted with them. The band made the night special and making me want to see them again. That was truly the best concert I've ever been too.

New Politics was amazing! They sounded great and were so energetic! You could really tell they love what they are doing and performing for everyone, especially Soren! But David has amazing vocals and Louis was killer on the Drums too! I love how intimate the Sinclair is, so if you ever get a chance to see a band perform there, it is well worth the trip/money or whatever else!

New Politics were extremely fun to watch! From crowd surfing to throwing guitars they just generally rocked.

Not sure if it was the venue or what but new politics was way too loud and muffled. Couldn't hear the singer over the rest of the band. Way too loud overall. I ended up leaving after the first couple songs.

THIS SHOW WAS AMAZING!!!! All the band members had such an energy that just filled the whole place. I really don't know how to describe this more, but when David when in the crowd and danced it was amazing.

One of the most energetic shows I've seen. It was way too much fun. I can't wait to see them again!

  • very good show, amazing price point

by LoveLifeMusic on 1/22/14Culture Room - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

The show as a whole was very good. All three bands (Sleeper Agent, Magic Man, and New Politics) brought a great energy, and the crowd was into it the entire time. The set was constant without changing and minimalist production which lead to a good old fashioned rock show. Overall I had a great time, and to see three Altnation bands for $25 was AWESOME.

  • New Politics did not dissapoint! Awesome show.

Actually, I gave two tickets to my son and his fiancee, for Christmas, for this show at Culture Room. They had a great time and were pleasantly surprised by the show, the music, and how entertaining New Politics were. They shared videos and pictures on Facebook, and honestly, I wish I could've joined them. They also liked Magic Man. Thank you!

  • New Politics were ridiculously good

If you get the chance I suggest you go see them because they're crazy good, so good I felt the need to write this review which is something I never do. They're so energized and they sound amazing. They're also so grateful for their fans and everyone who goes to see them and they are just amazing performers and people in general.

All of the bands were awesome. Sleeper Agent and Magic Man were so good that I'm going to buy all of their songs. New Politics was so much fun. My sister and I sang and shouted so much that we had to down 2 bottles of water.
