About

Rambunctious, Danish indie rockers New Politics formed in the late 2000s around the talents of vocalist David Boyd, guitarist/vocalist/keyboard player Søren H, and drummer Poul Amaliel. The band’s high-energy, guitar-driven blend of punk, pop, and electronically induced dance rock (Boyd specializes in wildly unpredictable stage posturing) eventually caught the ears (and eyes) of RCA, who signed the group in 2009. Fearing American anonymity, the band relocated to New York City, or more specifically, the indie rock center of the universe, Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Their self-titled debut full-length was released in July of 2010. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi

  • New Politics are Amazing live - go see them!

by basaxby on 11/11/14The Fillmore - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

I have been a fan of this band since March of this year. Their music is clever, catchy and generally upbeat. It is infectious and I find myself singing it all of the time. But the energy, heart and soul they display live is to be enjoyed. Just pure fun. They band, David, Soren and Louis, give everything they have and the audience loves them right back.

  • NEW POLITICS A MUST SEE

by SabraN on 11/3/14House of Blues Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

If you enjoy watching a band that is just sooooo damn happy to be there sharing their music with you, see New Politics. You can't help but have a great time being caught up in their energy, showmanship and the music is awesome!

  • So Much Energy!!

by MC619 on 11/3/14House of Blues San Diego - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Their music is fun, the other guys in the band are good, but there's really one reason to see New Politics: David Boyd. The group's singer is absolutely tireless as a performer and has so much fun on stage, it's impossible for anyone to have a bad time at a New Politics show. All three band members seem like very likeable guys, which makes things even better, but David is one of the very best showmen in modern music. Afterward, I waited outside the venue, since my companion was hoping to meet the band, and David made a point to walk through the crowd that had gathered and individually hug every single person. David isn't the best vocalist, and a lot of the music they perform onstage is pre-recorded, but the presentation is so good, none of that really matters.

NP is a very uptempo band and was a good time. Bad Suns was equally as good

They were amazing. The music, the crowd surf and the fans.

  • Once again...blew us away!

by KKinATL on 10/24/14Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

New Politics is one of the most high energy shows I've ever attended. We saw them in January at a much smaller venue and smaller crowd and I attributed the energy in the room to that alone. I was wrong! No matter the size of the place, this band commands a dominating presence. The floors were shaking with everyone dancing and singing along. Very exciting show. Absolutely loved Bad Suns as well...they are a great new band. They were a perfect pairing with New Politics.

  • New Politics- THE BEST LIVE SHOW YOU WILL EVER SEE

by crookedforks on 10/24/14Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

New Politics quickly took my heart this past summer. I saw them on tour with Fall Out Boy on the Monumentour and they were outstanding. Each member has so much energy and you can tell that they love what they do. The connection between them and the crowd is unmistakable. It's a give-take relationship: they love us and we adore them. Not only are they an amazing live show (you don't have to know their music to enjoy it- trust me), but they take the time to meet with their fans. On their current tour (the Everywhere I Go Tour), if you buy a t-shirt, you get a FREE meet & greet. I don't know any other bands that do that. They really care.

  • New Politics Harlem, USA Headlining Tour

    by Fiend4Music on 4/19/14The Independent - San FranciscoRating: 4 out of 5

I saw New Politics open for P!nk last year. I had really liked them and knew I wanted to see them again. I was excited to get to seem them headline their own tour in a great small venue – The Independent. Lead singer David Boyd stood and walked on the crowd during “Fall Into These Arms”. At the end of the song he fell into the arms of the crowd. In addition to performing their well-known songs “Tonight You’re Perfect”, “Harlem” and “Yeah Yeah Yeah”, they covered snippets of Britney Spears’ “Hit Me Baby One More Time” and Justin Timberlake’s “My Love”. Their set was fun and high energy. David Boyd did his signature breakdancing moves and headstand during the show. The crowd sang along and jumped up and down during most of the show. They did a great job headline their own show. New Politics did a meet and greet with fans that included a photo, but no autographs. You had to have a yellow ticket for the meet and greet. Someone gave me her ticket because she didn’t want to wait around for the band to come out so I lucked out and was able to get a pic with the band. Magic Man from Boston continued the momentum that was set by Sleeper Agent. They got the crowd dancing and jumping around with their upbeat music. The lead singer Alex Caplow hung around after their set and the show to take photos with fans. Kentucky’s Sleeper Agent set the stage for the night. They had good energy and got the crowd going. It was obvious that lead singer, Alex Kandel and guitarist Tony Smith were in a relationship as they performed. Alex hung out by the band’s merch and graciously talked to and took pictures with fans. That is when I found out that she and Tony are engaged. Every performance was better than the one before. Funnily each band had a song titled “Waves” that they performed. The energy was steady all night. New Politics picked the right bands to open up for them.

  • New Politics-Simply incredible

by mep9002 on 3/5/14The Shelter at Saint Andrews Hall - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

I saw them this past Feb in Detroit, this being the third time seeing them, but first as the headlining band. I knew they would be great- but to see them in this small venue was awesome. Walking to the venue I met Soren outside- incredible- posed for pictures and gave me a hug- I was so happy and excited!! One of the best bands today- high energy and engaging to the audience. I brought non-fans, who have since become huge fans of the band. Love love love them, and would recommend to see them live as the show is simply incredible.

  • New Politics are must see live!

by ricosuave49 on 2/24/14Vinyl at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Get out and see New Politics while they are still playing small venues- will be with Fallout Boy and Paramore this summer~ These guys put out big sound and are high energy! Vinyl is the smaller sister to the Joint at the Hard Rock but has better acoustics and more intimate setting so I actually like it more. Bands sell merchandise out front after so good way to catch em on meet and greets...

  • Fantastic band, warm venue & okay parking!

by RkrGurl on 2/20/14House of Blues San Diego - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

This was my second time seeing New Politics. They put on an awesome show. They're sound does vary some throughout their songs in a good way. David, on lead vocals, is as fun to watch as he is to listen too. Some killer break dance moves, amazing headstands, flips & crowd surfing. Soren plays 4-5 instruments. All three guys put on a great show & are definitely appreciative of their fans. My only complaint on the sound is the vocals seemed too low at times. Merchandise was really reasonably priced. I purchased one of their new Denmark shirts. My usual complaint with the venue still stands. It gets way too warm/hot on the main floor at the House of Blues. You should have seen the guys wring out their shirts. I realize they're performing and working up a sweat, but still, it was quite warm in there. Parking was okay. It was a bit hard to find a close spot. In fact I ended up being a ways away and getting a ride from on the the bands playing in the front room that same night.

  • WORTH THE PRICE OF ADMISSIONS

by gsparky on 2/18/14House Of Blues - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Third time seeing them perform but first time seeing them headline. They really had a good setlist of songs for their 1 1/4 hour show. They can hold there own as a headliner. I hope to see them on the festival circuit soon. If you have a chance go see them...GO!

Great band...same energy they had four years ago when I first saw them. Very genuine & determined guys, who know how to interact with the audience and have fun. Their performance live is electric

  • New Politics was SO good!!

    by Ks0320 on 2/8/14Newport Music Hall - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

This was an amazing concert. The atmosphere was lively and the performance was crazy good. All of the artists performing were amazing, and even though I only knew New Politics before this after their concert I also checked out and bought some of the music of both opening bands. I also really enjoyed the chance to meet the band afterwards, something that I thought was really cool. I would DEFINITELY go again!!
