NEEDTOBREATHE have spent over two decades developing a unique sound that blends elements of rock, country and Christian music. The South Carolina band was formed in 1998 by brothers Bear and Bo Rinehart. They expanded the outfit into a quartet and released a string of independent projects before debuting their first major label effort, Daylight, in 2006. NEEDTOBREATHE’s sophomore album The Heat (2007) marked the group’s first placement on the Billboard 200 and earned the group their first No. 1 on the Christian Airplay chart with the single, “Washed by the Water.” Their 2009 follow-up The Outsiders elevated the band, reaching gold certification from the RIAA, while 2011’s The Reckoning marked more crossover success after notching their first No. 1 on the Top Rock Albums chart. With 2014’s Rivers in the Wasteland, NEEDTOBREATHE broke into the Hot 100 thanks to the Gavin DeGraw collaborative song “Brother.” The single “Multiplied” led to the band’s first Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. NEEDTOBREATHE reached a career peak at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 2016’s Hard Love. In 2020, the group announced the departure of Bo Rinehart and have since released three studio albums as a quintet with Bear, Seth Bolt, Josh Lovelace, Randall Harris and Tyler Burkum.

Very energetic and entertaining! Loved their live version of Something Beautiful...best song of the night! Coming back next time they are here!!
Terrific show by a fantastic up and coming band. A must see and hear. They sound fantastic
I had never heard of NeedToBreathe before, but I like to see live music, and often see new bands, so I took a chance. NeedToBreathe was GREAT! Kind of southern-rocky, a bit of blues, a bit of gospel-ish a capella, but overall just a good, tight, hard-rocking band. Serena Ryder was great too! Sold-out crowd, eveyone having a good time, my date and I both left with that good, after-concert feeling. I'll definitely come to their next shows that come to Dallas.
This band has been around for at least 10 years now and they have been getting better each time they perform. The Show at the Dallas House of Blues was an amazing sold out performance. Inspired by the music of Blues legend Buddy Guy performing in the Big Room next door, Need To Breath masterfully wound through material off their new album mixed in with some older material and a Tom Petty song thrown in. They Skipped many of their songs from the album "Daylight" but played a number of songs off of "The Heat" but skipped "Signature of Divine" and "Shine On" which may dissapoint some radio fans. Bear Rinehart's vocals were amazing and Brother Bo did a great job singing as well. Backing vocals from bassist Seth Bolt and drummer Joe Stillwell were spot on. Experience these guys in these smaller venues before they get too big and move to the larger venues. Bigdaddy says MUST SEE!
I had the privilege of seeing Needtobreathe last night for the first time ever. After looking up Youtube videos of them playing in concerts, I could tell they probably put on a great show, but I was seriously blown away last night live. Seriously, if you ever get the chance to see these guys, TAKE IT. I took eleven other people with me last night, half of whom didn't even know who they were, but everyone left feeling like they just saw one of the greatest concerts of their lives. Also, both openers were well worth seeing. As eager as I was to get to Needtobreathe, I didn't mind waiting a little longer to listen to their stuff.
What a great show!!! I took a friend who never even heard of them and she ended up buying all 3 of their cd's!!! Need I say more!!!
It was amazing. I would recommend anyone to see them. They are a modest and honest group. If given the opportunity, I would see them again. And Matthew Mayfield is an incredible artist as well.
Enjoyed the show very much! They are awesome, that lead singer is so talented. They didn't go on til 10:30, which was pretty late for a Wednesday night, but all and all was a good show.
First time to Exit-In and the show was unbelievable. Needtobreathe did a great cover of Tom Petty's "You Rock Me" and an awesome acoustic set at the end of the encore for "Something Beautiful". Great show, great entertainers, beautiful music and a nice venue. Favorite Moment - During Something Beautiful, Bear asked us to get close and be quiet to be heard over the crowd. In the build-up of the song, the audience's singing got too loud and he stopped and told us politely to shut our mouths so he could sing. :)
This is one of the best concerts I have ever been to due to this band and the opening acts being some of the most talented people on the face of the earth. They put on a great show and really need a better venue in which to perform. Visibility and seating was very limited.
the best live show i have ever been to. was shocked to see that the sonar was an old parking garage, but thought it was awesome and a great intimate place to hear live music. even the 2 bands that opened were great. i have seen both pearl jam, and dave mathews band live, and needtobreathe blew them all away!
I have just recently starting listening to Needtobreathe and was excited to find they were coming to The Basement. I thought they did an amazing job and kept the crowd entertained. I would definitely see them again. Great live band!
Needtobreathe takes the stage in an unassuming manner. Sure, they look the part: The v-neck shirt, trendy myriad of necklaces, but Needtobreathe is different. The opening verses of "Outsiders" breathes life into the Basement, an intimate venue ideal for concert goers looking for a casual but explosive musical experience. Bo, brother of lead singer Bear Rinehart, jams on the banjo, and Needtobreathe are in their element. The show is captivating from start to finish. While "Girl from Tennessee" had fans dancing, living the pastoral dream of growing up in the rural south, or being engulfed in the gospel feel of "Lay 'em Down," Needtobreathe brings their vision of Heaven, be it the Jesus they pursue or the childhood they knew, into the hearts of their fans. With a stunning acoustic rendition of "Something Beautiful" to wrap up a fantastic evening, Needtobreathe is doing exactly what they're meant to do, and doing it humbly.
I am a student at West Virginia University and am an intern with Arts & Entertainment. We have bands come through town all the time and I work with all the concerts that the University promotes. I was extremely impressed with Needtobreathe and would confidently say that they are, hands down, one of the best shows that I have ever seen. They are an extremely talented band! Loved the variety of instruments, harmony was phenomenal, and the stage presence was captivating. I would definitely recommend them!
This band has a definite energy and is able to really hook an audience!! I liked their music beforehand, and was really excited to see them live, but it was so much better than I could have expected...The venue was great too, very inviting and relaxing. It seemed to fit the band's persona as well.
