About

Comedian Nate Bargatze’s clean-cut and relatable humor is why The Atlantic called him “The Nicest Man in Stand-Up.” The Nashville, Tennessee native and host of the Nateland podcast found his voice in the mid-2000s with regular appearances on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Bargatze was featured on Jimmy Fallon's Clean Cut Comedy Tour 2013, three years after he was named “New York's Funniest Stand-Up” at the New York Comedy Festival. Since then, Bargatze has been selling out arenas on solo tours and in support of comedy icons like Chris Rock. Bargatze’s signature deadpan delivery was showcased in his 2021 Netflix special, The Greatest Average American, which earned a Grammy Award nomination for the coinciding comedy album. His 2023 Amazon Prime special Nate Bargatze: Hello World became the most-streamed original comedy special debut in Prime history — with 2.9 million viewers in its first 28 days — culminating in Bargatze breaking the attendance record for Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Bargatze hosted “Saturday Night Live” for the second time in fall 2024 and also co-produced a holiday variety special titled “Nate Bargatze’s Nashville Christmas” with Lorne Michaels. In May 2025, Bargatze published his highly-anticipated first book, Big Dumb Eyes: Stories From A Simpler Mind, which became an instant New York Times bestseller. Coming up for 2026, Bargatze will host his new comedy game show, The Greatest Average American, which premieres on February 25 on ABC and Hulu, and will star in the family-friendly comedy film, The Breadwinner, which is scheduled to be released on March 13.

  • Best Comedian in Years

by Michael on 10/31/21Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The entire show was fantastic. Everything from Nate’s friends and especially his father opening for him, as well as the amazing venue and lack of mask mandates or other cosmetic theatre was a breathe of fresh air. Nate’s unique perspective on life coupled with his ability to find the humor in all aspects of life without having to resort to crude language is refreshing.

Nate is so clever and never ceases to turn out a gut busting hour! Love that his comedy is clean and his delivery so dry. AmaZing show and will go see him every tour.

  • Amazing show!

by Amber Leigh on 10/31/21Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Wonderful show and experience. Besides the super tight fit and inability to move my legs (ha), I could have listened to him for hours. All comedians were so funny. LOVED the special performance from his Dad. The night was great.

  • Best Comedian I have ever seen.

by JB on 10/31/21Grand Ole Opry House - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Pryor. I have seen Cosby. Norm, Chris Rock, Robin, Kathleen, Leno, Seinfeld, Gaffigan, Kevin, Regan and on and on. I love comedy. As I have gotten a little older (about to turn 60), I have learned to appreciate comedians that can be funny without using profanity. Nate belongs in the top 10 of all time. I would rank him #1.

  • Great event! Just the very best.

by ShawnaW on 10/30/21Grand Ole Opry House - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Where to start! Venue was awesome and easy to get into (no vac req, test result, mask, etc.) Nate was incredible. Such a breath of fresh air to sit through an event that was just plain good without all the unnecessary foul language and vulgarity that so many present. His Dad ~ amazing. Nate's humor and genuine love for life is apparent. Could not recommend enough!

  • Best comedy show ever!

by Mandy C on 10/30/21Grand Ole Opry House - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely loved this show!! His warm up was great and his Dad made a memorable appearance. Nate is proof that raunchy isn’t necessary to be funny. Haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. Can’t wait to see him again very soon. If you get the chance you should definitely go see Nate Bargatze!!

Nate’s dad opened before him and was hilarious and magical! Nate’s co host from the Nateland podcast were also opening acts and were hilarious as well! I highly recommend you see the Raincheck Tour!

First of all, the Grand Ole Opry House is an amazing venue. Nate Bargatze is one of the funniest people out there, and proves you don’t have to be vulgar and use language that is unappealing to be funny. It was amazing to see his dad come out and talk to us and do some magic tricks. Nate is a must see for anyone of all ages.
