About

Comedian Nate Bargatze’s clean-cut and relatable humor is why The Atlantic called him “The Nicest Man in Stand-Up.” The Nashville, Tennessee native and host of the Nateland podcast found his voice in the mid-2000s with regular appearances on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Bargatze was featured on Jimmy Fallon's Clean Cut Comedy Tour 2013, three years after he was named “New York's Funniest Stand-Up” at the New York Comedy Festival. Since then, Bargatze has been selling out arenas on solo tours and in support of comedy icons like Chris Rock. Bargatze’s signature deadpan delivery was showcased in his 2021 Netflix special, The Greatest Average American, which earned a Grammy Award nomination for the coinciding comedy album. His 2023 Amazon Prime special Nate Bargatze: Hello World became the most-streamed original comedy special debut in Prime history — with 2.9 million viewers in its first 28 days — culminating in Bargatze breaking the attendance record for Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Bargatze hosted “Saturday Night Live” for the second time in fall 2024 and also co-produced a holiday variety special titled “Nate Bargatze’s Nashville Christmas” with Lorne Michaels. In May 2025, Bargatze published his highly-anticipated first book, Big Dumb Eyes: Stories From A Simpler Mind, which became an instant New York Times bestseller. Coming up for 2026, Bargatze will host his new comedy game show, The Greatest Average American, which premieres on February 25 on ABC and Hulu, and will star in the family-friendly comedy film, The Breadwinner, which is scheduled to be released on March 13.

  • Belly laughing event!

    by C-fox on 11/16/21Dow Event Center - SaginawRating: 5 out of 5

Nate is truly a comedic genius. He wasn’t dirty at all, didn’t swear, and still put on a non-stop laughing show. I would recommend him to anyone. His warm-up acts were quite funny as well. You won’t be disappointed if you go see him!

  • Nate Bargatze at the Dow Center in Saginaw, MI

by Hale Victor on 11/16/21Dow Event Center - SaginawRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely outstanding event. Loved the Dow Center and loved Nate even more. It was THE single funniest event I have ever been to. He never missed a beat and was funny from the time he walked on stage until the end. I laughed until I cried. I hurt on my long drive across Michigan back home that night. Fabulously funny.

  • Nateland worth the visit!

by Madpup on 11/16/21Dow Event Center - SaginawRating: 5 out of 5

Never been to the arena. Police assisted me with handicap needs… very helpful. Crowd representative of Comedian… Nice, happy to be there to laugh etc. Easy Ticketmaster mobile app to get in.

  • Nate was great. Venue wasn’t.

    by S. O. on 11/10/21Mayo Civic Center Auditorium - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was an old indoor hockey rink??? I can’t believe they would even have anything there.

  • Great performance

by pborgs on 11/10/21Mayo Civic Center Auditorium - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

I got turned on to Nate through his Netflix specials. I absolutely love his humor. His performance did not disappoint. All new material. Absolutely spot on. Hilarious.

  • Consistently great!

by Lilescar on 11/10/21State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Great show! I love Nate. His understated delivery, self deprecation and genius at crafting his jokes makes for an amazing set!! Laughed til I cried.

  • Nate was GREAT!

by Abigail on 11/9/21State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

He was hilarious as expected. All new material and we were crying from laughing so hard. I hope he never stops doing comedy. Just the best.

  • He was great, the ushers were not

    by M. R. on 11/9/21State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

Nate was fantastic—will definitely go see him again. The people coming in after the performance had started was irritating. However, the ushers walking the aisles during the performance was unreal. They went back and forth twice to make sure people had their masks on. The headliner is up their for one hour—it was distracting and unnecessary.

  • An Amazing Show

    by Gillquist W on 11/9/21State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

If you are asking the question about whether you should go see Nate Bargatze’s The Raincheck tour, then the answer is yes. Nate is at his A game on this tour, and not a single joke of his falls flat. You will be laughing the whole way through. Also, shoutout to the two openers: Gary Vider and Justin Smith.

  • Great Show.

by Anthony CM on 11/9/21State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I'm very biased, but this is the best live stand up I've seen yet. Just wish the state theater had a real bar. Also keep the workers out of the isles during the show I missed two of Nate's jokes because some woman was whisper yelling at a guy to put his mask up between drinks. She even went into the isle putting her butt near patron's faces. Poor judgement.

  • Deadpan Funny

    by M. C. on 11/9/21State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Just straight up hilarious bits about being human.

  • Excellent Beginning to End

by KP on 11/9/21State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

From purchasing the ticket to walking out at the end, excellent experience. Purchasing the ticket was easy, easy to access on my phone, safety protocols were easy to follow and made me feel safe, and Nate was hilarious! Everything was on time and it was a very enjoyable experience. I would definitely see Nate again and definitely go to the State Theater again.

  • Best Show I've been to

by Mark D on 11/2/21Grand Ole Opry House - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The two warm up comedians were very funny with their short routines and then his dad came out and was absolutely hilarious and adorable. We started laughing from the start of the show and didn't stop until Nate walked off the stage at the end of the show. So funny and completely clean. The show was amazing.

  • Awesome Nate

by Luge on 11/2/21Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

A big surprise that Nate's Dad opened the show. He's not only a talented magician but very funny! I"ve seen of Nate's shows on Netflix and rhis was the best!

  • So great to laugh!

    by Karin B. on 11/1/21Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Nate was solid from start to finish - all new material and all of it was great! What a treat to see his dad open - truly heart-warming, hilarious and wonderful. It was worth leaving the house and braving the germs for! Big laughs!

  • Nate is even more funny in person!

by Kim on 11/1/21Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

We laughed so hard all night. Every bit was new and hilarious! At the Nashville show we had the treat of an opening act from Nate's dad. I now know Nate gets his sense of humor.

  • Great Show

by Angee on 10/31/21Grand Ole Opry House - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Nate Bargatze is one of only a few comedians today that can make you belly laugh without using profanity. I don't mind some profanity but I'm pleasantly surprised when I enjoy a comedy show as much as I did watching Nate do his clean material and have me laughing hysterically. I loved seeing him at the Opry House because it's one of the few venues that don't require a covid test or vaccine card to attend. If they did require it we'd definitely pass on a performance even if we really wanted to see them.
