Nashville Predators History

The Predators joined the NHL in 1998 during a two-year expansion that saw the League add the Atlanta Thrashers, Columbus Blue Jackets and Minnesota Wild. The team made its first trip to the Playoffs during the 2003-04 season, and proceeded to make the postseason six of the next seven seasons. Nashville won its first Playoff series against the Anaheim Ducks in 2011, and returned to the second round again the following spring.

Two seasons later, with Peter Laviolette as Head Coach, Nashville began their four-year run as a Stanley Cup contender. With P.K. Subban arriving ahead of the 2016-17 season to anchor the defense, the Preds upset the Chicago Blackhawks, St. Louis Blues and Anaheim Ducks in consecutive Playoff series to reach the 2017 Stanley Cup Final. That streak had two distinctions: It was the first time a No. 8 seed knocked out a top seed (the Blackhawks) and the Predators became the first team in two decades to win 10 consecutive home Playoff games.

Facing the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Stanley Cup Final, the Preds lost the first two games before storming back to take Games 3 and 4. After a decisive Pittsburgh home victory, the Penguins prevailed 2-0 in Game 6, with both goals coming in the final two minutes.

Filip Forsberg, who re-signed with the team for eight seasons in July 2022, is the Predators all-time leading scorer. Roman Josi, Pekka Rinne, Mike Fisher and Steve Sullivan have all won NHL awards, while Josi, Rinne and former captain Shea Weber have the distinction of being NHL First-Team All-Stars for the club. The Nashville Predators have made the Playoffs 15 times in their 24 seasons.

    Great Atmosphere!

by Julie on 10/25/23Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

I was in town for a meeting and decided to pick up a single ticket to the game. I was cheering the Predators on even though my favorite team is my hometown team. The arena was clean and very modern. The people were great and the energy was palpable. I truly had a fantastic time.

    Meh

by Crasher1339 on 10/20/23Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

I'm a big college hockey fan so was looking forward to seeing the pros. Kinda disappointed. Uninspired play on both sides and a 6-1 blowout. The venue is nice though.

    Amazing

by Jen on 10/15/23Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

My friend and I are visiting Nashville for the first time this past week. We both wanted to see a Predators game hence why we scheduled our trip around a potential game or two. I was able to get tickets to the home opener. All the workers inside the arena were so helpful and friendly. The fans around us were great as well!!

    Plus 10

by Charlie on 10/15/23Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

I have never been to a Predators game. It was so much fun. It was the 25 anniversary. It was easy to get caught up in the energy of the fans. We went for my 70th birthday. It was amazing to see the skill of the team and of course awesome that they won. The only draw back for us was it was way too loud. I had to wear ear plugs the whole time. There is no reason for it. Also, the lady that sang the national anthem was exceptional, I don't remember her name. It was the game on Oct 12.

    Concessions high

by Edgi on 10/15/23Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

The venue, amenities, staff are great. But concessions for what is served is overpriced. 2 beers and 1 Asian wok bowl $52

    Mostly Fun

by Knights Dad on 10/1/23F&M Bank Arena - Clarksville

F&M Arena still working out the "newness"of the place. Game was a great time! Hope that the Predators or other NHL teams do preseason games here too. Security scanners weren't working at the Premier entrance - so the wait to get in was long Received a message that our tickets included food & beverages, however, this was incorrect. Apparently a blanket email went out to all Ticketmaster ticket holders. Concession stand prices seem high for what you get, two pretzels, two waters, over $25 total! Everyone there seemed to have a good time. Nice event for a great cause🇺🇸

    First live game at 72

by Judentn on 10/1/23F&M Bank Arena - Clarksville

I’ve been a Preds fan for a few years now so it was a wonderful experience to be able to see MY TEAM in person as they played the first ever hockey game in our new arena. Since it was an inter league game, there were no losers. It was inspiring to hear the crowd cheering no matter who made a goal. Also supporting our military and the wounded warriors that have sacrificed so much for our freedom makes me proud to be an American.
