Nashville Predators History

The Predators joined the NHL in 1998 during a two-year expansion that saw the League add the Atlanta Thrashers, Columbus Blue Jackets and Minnesota Wild. The team made its first trip to the Playoffs during the 2003-04 season, and proceeded to make the postseason six of the next seven seasons. Nashville won its first Playoff series against the Anaheim Ducks in 2011, and returned to the second round again the following spring.

Two seasons later, with Peter Laviolette as Head Coach, Nashville began their four-year run as a Stanley Cup contender. With P.K. Subban arriving ahead of the 2016-17 season to anchor the defense, the Preds upset the Chicago Blackhawks, St. Louis Blues and Anaheim Ducks in consecutive Playoff series to reach the 2017 Stanley Cup Final. That streak had two distinctions: It was the first time a No. 8 seed knocked out a top seed (the Blackhawks) and the Predators became the first team in two decades to win 10 consecutive home Playoff games.

Facing the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Stanley Cup Final, the Preds lost the first two games before storming back to take Games 3 and 4. After a decisive Pittsburgh home victory, the Penguins prevailed 2-0 in Game 6, with both goals coming in the final two minutes.

Filip Forsberg, who re-signed with the team for eight seasons in July 2022, is the Predators’ second all-time leading scorer. Roman Josi, Pekka Rinne, Mike Fisher and Steve Sullivan have all won NHL awards, while Josi, Rinne and former captain Shea Weber have the distinction of being NHL First-Team All-Stars for the club. The Nashville Predators have made the Playoffs 16 times.

  • Poor Usher Performance

by Bowling Green Fan on 3/25/25Bridgestone Arena - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

The usher at section 328 G was the worst I’ve seen in the 5 games I’ve attended this season. She left her post multiple times. When she was there, she had no control over people coming in during play. She rarely held her “FREEZE” sign out. I was in an end seat so I could see what was going on. I think she would benefit from further training. It’s inconsiderate to those paying a pretty penny to see a game.

  • Great game

by Te on 3/25/25Bridgestone Arena - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

My first time ever to a hockey game love it, the atmosphere was great and I’ll be back going again soon

  • Upper level sections

by Ryabt on 3/23/25Bridgestone Arena - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

We sat in section 307 and while the seats were nice you are in a meat locker because air blows on you constantly the whole time. Have been there in the lower level and not had it before. Just a warning for those looking for affordable seats in the 300 level.

  • Preds Game is a MUDT DO when visiting Nashville

by Stephanie Lynn on 1/21/25Bridgestone Arena - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

My family and I were in Nashville for the weekend, we are sports fans but have only attended one NHL game before this. We went to the Preds vs Wild game on 1/18/2025, we had the absolute best time. The stadium itself is easy to get to, get around in and very clean, safe and fan friendly. The game itself was SO MUCH FUN, the chants, the traditions when they score, the music, it all exceeded all expectation. My entire family enjoyed every minute of our experience, we will make a point to attend a game every single time we visit Nashville from here on out.

  • Game was a blast!

by Nahunt on 1/19/25Bridgestone Arena - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Our first Predators game - we are fans because we live here, but are also Chicago fans because a friend is on that team. Sat in Section 206 and the view was fantastic! Concessions were great - not crowded at all, helpful, friendly staff! Parking at Music City Center was easy, convenient and so reasonable! Will definitely attend another game in the future!

Awesome arena and friendly fans base. Very comfortable experience for away fans at this venue.

  • Y'all Gon Make Me Lose My Mind

by casual Predators fan on 12/13/24Bridgestone Arena - NashvilleRating: 2 out of 5

Same exact experience as my very first Predators game 9 years ago, and the 50+ games I've attended since. Mediocre play, ugly uniforms, expensive parking, ultra-expensive beer, bad food, undersized seats, lame contests, and endless blather by the loud public address announcer. The Christie Cookie is the best part always.

  • Boring

by Kristen on 12/2/24Bridgestone Arena - NashvilleRating: 3 out of 5

I’ve been to several national hockey games in the country., and the Predators games are boring in comparison. There is far less engagement for the fans. The music is hardly playing. The announcer is not funny. I never even saw the mascot. I was on the second level and it was so unbelievable cold that I had to keep going in the concourse to warm up. There definitely needs to be more fun and entertainment.

  • Seats comfort leave much to be desired

    by Shawn L on 11/30/24Bridgestone Arena - NashvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Bridgestone seats are designed for grade school kids! Most uncomfortable seating.. EXTREMELY TIGHT.

  • Great Time

by Foxman on 11/26/24Bridgestone Arena - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

We had a great time getting to and into the Bridgestone Arena! Digital tickets worked and screening was “Fast”. Seats were on center line about 7 rows up. Exit the building, was well marked and easy!

  • Predators vs Jets

by Terri on 11/26/24Bridgestone Arena - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Such a fun experience! Our seats were awesome! :) We had a blast getting to know the people around us - even though we were cheering for the other team!
