Nashville Predators History

The Predators joined the NHL in 1998 during a two-year expansion that saw the League add the Atlanta Thrashers, Columbus Blue Jackets and Minnesota Wild. The team made its first trip to the Playoffs during the 2003-04 season, and proceeded to make the postseason six of the next seven seasons. Nashville won its first Playoff series against the Anaheim Ducks in 2011, and returned to the second round again the following spring.

Two seasons later, with Peter Laviolette as Head Coach, Nashville began their four-year run as a Stanley Cup contender. With P.K. Subban arriving ahead of the 2016-17 season to anchor the defense, the Preds upset the Chicago Blackhawks, St. Louis Blues and Anaheim Ducks in consecutive Playoff series to reach the 2017 Stanley Cup Final. That streak had two distinctions: It was the first time a No. 8 seed knocked out a top seed (the Blackhawks) and the Predators became the first team in two decades to win 10 consecutive home Playoff games.

Facing the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Stanley Cup Final, the Preds lost the first two games before storming back to take Games 3 and 4. After a decisive Pittsburgh home victory, the Penguins prevailed 2-0 in Game 6, with both goals coming in the final two minutes.

Filip Forsberg, who re-signed with the team for eight seasons in July 2022, is the Predators all-time leading scorer. Roman Josi, Pekka Rinne, Mike Fisher and Steve Sullivan have all won NHL awards, while Josi, Rinne and former captain Shea Weber have the distinction of being NHL First-Team All-Stars for the club. The Nashville Predators have made the Playoffs 15 times in their 24 seasons.

    Love hockey, hate this arena

by JLS on 2/13/24Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

Loved the hockey game especially the comeback! The Bridgestone arena is awful though especially if you have any disability or if you are larger at all. We couldn’t find or get help to any escalators or elevators. Yes I asked. Once on the 3rd level the seats were so small I have a bruise on my hip from the cup holder. Do better for this cost.

    Parking Garage was closed

by Val on 1/17/24Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

I purchased a ticket to park in the Pinnacle garage. The address for the garage was not included during ticket purchase, so I googled the address. When I arrived at the garage, the gate was closed. I saw another person turning around to back out too so it wasn’t just me that was affected. I wish I could get a refund for the parking garage ticket I bought as I had to pay for alternate parking.

    Go Preds!

by Kim on 12/28/23Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

Our seats were 308 Row N (I believe), the highest row available in the arena. The seats were a little narrow and not much arm room in a packed row, but we had a great view of the rink. Merchandise is expensive but a good selection of food and beverages. I definitely recommend going to see a press game while in Nashville.

Great game!! Be careful of seat selection or you will be watching through a railing.

    Christmas Hockey

by pcorazao on 12/24/23Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

I can to a game last year during the Christmas week and every one was given light up brackets that changed colors during the opening sequence. This year we didn’t get them :( My only complaint is the chairs up top are difficult to sit in if you are large, flip up arm rests would be great. Otherwise the game was great entertainment value.

    Very underwhelming

by MidTn on 12/24/23Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

Very underwhelming environment with a lack of excitement. This was made worse by the team selling 2 ft tall oversized cowboy hats which ensured my children could not see anything of the game. Left early due to kids being frustrated they couldn't see and we won't be back. Much better sporting environments in the area.

Not really a bad seat in the arena. The whole family had a great time.

    The seats are too small

by DenKon on 12/19/23Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

The title says it all. Plus, not enough bathrooms for the size of the arena.

by Tommy on 12/15/23Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

No problems entering or exiting the Arena. Very friendly ushers who knew where we were going and the easiest way there. Good game experience. Close and exciting. Music and video boards were great and kept the fans hyped up. Good food and drinks. Had an excellent night.
