This is the last chance to see Joel as he celebrates his final live tour performing the unique comedic art form he created. The exhilarating, nonstop, rapid-fire hilarity is brimming with hundreds of jokes riffed on a "So-Bad-It's-Good" feature film, plus spirited sketches and songs that turn the stage into a circus-themed party.
Honestly it was a great show! My only complaint was the merch I received was in the completely wrong size. But other than that, it was a great!
MST3K Mystery Bubble Tour is so funny! We truly enjoyed it. We had seen the 2019 tour and I am impressed with the development of the characters! I've been a fan of MST3K since 1988 and I'm so happy with this new incarnation. Great show and a wonderful venue.
This show was everything we hoped it would be. Having them feature a film from the beginning of the show in 1988-89 held special meaning for us as we saw this show with the couple that we watched the first episode with! Very well done!
Having seen MST3K Live at the Fox Atlanta theater a couple of years ago (fantastic show!), I was expecting a similar experience at the Cox’s Cola Roxy theater. There were several disappointments. The seats were just hard folding chairs, that were literally zip tied together, so there was little space if, like me, you were sitting next to another full-sized male adult. The floor is also flat, rather than sloped, so the view of the stage was difficult with people sitting in front of you. The screen for projecting the show wasn’t much bigger than the actors, so they were barely larger on screen than in real life, and the video quality was poor. The movie was wonderfully horrible, and the comments were delightfully well timed and funny, but there was no Joel this time. He was missed. All in all, a fun if uncomfortable evening, with poorer seats, poorer video quality and size, and no Joel. Please, next time, go back to the Fox!
The show was outstanding. Hilarious from start to finish. My daughter and I laughed from beginning to end. Emily's timing and delivery, not to mention her amazing voice, was impeccable. I hope these guys return for another tour soon. I have been following MST since the late 80's and to be honest, it is better today than ever. Don't miss these guys if you enjoy a hearty laugh. They will not disappoint.
A fun show at the Roxy. Everything you would expect from MST3K
It was so funny and the robots felt on character. I loved every second of it and I haven't laughed that hard in a while!
I'm not going to spend a ton of virtual ink, but I wanted to point out some salient thoughts about this event: 1) Thank you for not cancelling, and for requiring masks. I felt safe at my venue 2) The quality of the riffs in the movie were top-notch, as good as any I'd seen in any other MST3K show. 3) The choice of movie was great as well. As someone who worked in a theatre in the mid-80's, I can't believe I never heard of this one. 4) I would have enjoyed some more elaborate sets. Maybe the villain's lab/lair, or something resembling the Satellite of Love interior? Just something more familiar to watch as a background. 5) The plot of the Time Bubble......big meh on that one. I really thought we were being set up to jump through time and have the bots and the new host riff on sections of different films (maybe even previously seen on MST3K with new material). Otherwise the plot made no real sense or had a purpose 6) The evil doctor (whose name escapes me) was talented but maybe a little over the top. Not terrible, but not great). 7) Puppeteering was great!! 8) The new host was engaging, and enjoyed having a female voice this time. Overall, had a great time. Thank you everyone (where applicable).
If you love mst3k you’ll love this. Laughed so hard I almost threw up!
I have been a fan of MST3K since the 80s, so when I saw that the live show was coming to Knoxville, I immediately got tickets. I took my son to the show, and we both laughed non-stop (even during intermission) the whole time. I hope they come through again with another show... I'd even go to this one again!
Loved this show. The movie was terribly ridiculous as expected. The cast was funny, energetic and engaging. This show has always felt like you’re right there with them, riffing movies with your friends. This live tour gave that same “homey” feeling. Great work my friends!
Was a lot of fun, good characters and riffing.... could have used more Joel but will learn to live without him!
It was easily the most I’ve laughed in a while. I was entertained throughout the entire show and was laughing almost constantly. My boyfriend and I had the best time!
Excellent show! The MST3K folks put on an excellent show and I hope to see them in the future. The Balboa Theater is a very nice venue, although it would be nice if there was a little bit more space between the seats. I'll just say that I'm glad that I had a spare ticket since my girlfriend couldn't make the show so that I could have some elbow room between me and another attendee. Aside from that, great show, nice venue. Parking was a breeze!
Our family are avid fans of MST3000. It was a fun evening with lots of laugh. Nice alternative to going to a comedy club.
The movie this show riffed (Making Contact) and the jokes from the cast themselves, were just a perfect storm of comedy. I hadn't been that entertained by MST3K since the last live tour and the days of Joel's comedy central airtime. It was a relatively short(ish) show at 2 hours, but it felt like a great episode I'd watch on the internet. (Or the Gizmoplex in their case.) I had the bleeding nose high balcony seating and that was the only thing keeping me from seeing the cast much, without the large screen. My fault for not being able to afford a better seat.
This was the most pleasant and speedy entrance experience I've ever had to the Moore. After a bit of a learning curve to get my ticket to my phone, everything else was professional and stream-lined. The show itself was a "bit" smaller than previous MST3K's, but also much less glitchy. My son & I enjoyed it quite a bit. The one rant I have is that I prepaid for parking, which turned into a mess. Directions were vague and gave me the impression it was available for a number of parking lots around the theatre, so I parked in the old Bed, Bath & Beyond lot--DO NOT GO THERE! They don't accept the prepaid parking, and are actually part of the Climate Pledge Arena parking. The sneaky part is that there is nothing to indicate you are parking in a different lot (group?, syndicate?, Scrooge's Lots & Emporium?). Anyhoo, the ticketmaster warnig of "you would be better off prepurchasing a slot for your chariot, as there are few parking spaces available in the evening" is not true, as there was plenty--just no directions on how to easily find the ones that would honor the parking pass.
I bought these tickets as a gift for my wife much earlier in the year, hopeful that by the time the show rolled around the general conditions would be better but unfortunately that's not how it worked out. Still, it was a needed boost to our flagging morale and the right time of year to have some fun, however briefly. The cast worked their collective asses off to put on a great show and Emily and 'Mega Cynthia' were particular standouts. Thanks for giving us a smile MST3k.
The singing was amazing, great riffs, and an amazing characters with the "clone" characters with Crow, Tom Servo, & what's her name. The tickmaster app blows! Thank god for STG!
An absolutely hilarious night that I won't forget. For anyone not familiar with MST3K, the basic premise is that a terrible movie is played while the cast members (usually one human, 2 full time robot/puppets and an occasional 3rd) crack jokes about what's happening on screen. The current cast for the Bubble Tour carriers the torch of the show with incredibly distinction. The show also benefits in their film selection, "Making Contact", a film so baffling that it seems almost shocking this wasn't the target of MST3k before. Absolutely recommend for anyone that loves comedy and cheesy movies. Cannot wait for the next tour to return.
