Hats off to Zeola Gaye and the cast of this play. Although Zeola was unable to use any of her brother's music/songs in the play, it was still a grand hit! When something as tragic happens as in the case of Marvin Gaye, his fans want to know what happened because they loved him and I believe people were genuinely concerned. Not just with Marvin Gaye, but his familiy as well.
Zeola could not have done a better job telling her story of her family's disfunction, and I applaud her for doing so. Everyone has disfunction in their family and everyone deals with it in their own way. Some think it's not okay to talk abou it, but once you put it out there, who knows how it could help someone whose also struggling to deal with their own family's disfunction.
A very emotional, touching, funny, talented and close-to-home play.
