Aside from the debacle at the gate on Saturday where the Park ushers wouldn't disclose what lines people were standing in, the event went swimmingly. Bathroom lines weren't as long as previous years but could still be improved.

  • Lots of people and not enough bathrooms

    by Mzach2 on 9/25/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

The music was only ok. The line for the bathroom took about 1 hr or more. The line to get into the venue also took about 1-2hr. Also, the bands were good but not worth the waiting in line for everything. There needed to be another stage for sure. There were a lot of people they could have had another stage easily. Overall I was unimpressed and probably will not be back unless the lineup is better.

  • Great lineup

by StrategyDoctor on 9/25/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

The lineup was great. My reason for four stars was the VIP section. It was overcrowded this year compared to last because there was no access to the pavilion. This resulted in congestion at the food lines and bathrooms.

  • Jane Says

by bigpooty on 9/25/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Janes was by far the best show. ZZward and imagine Dragons were great. Two Chains was a lot of fun. Journey was forgettable. RHCP are my favorite band but prefer them in a smaller venue, the performance gets lost in the mass of drunks talking to each other while the show is on. Not enough rest rooms as usual, and quite the mess come Saturday.

  • It was fun seeing the bands

    by Fletch1975 on 9/25/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

Where to begin. Friday night was not bad. We got in without any trouble. The BBQ truck was very tasty. Wish there had been more than one water station, and that it had been placed on the concrete so we didn't have to wade thru the mud to get to it. One suggestion is that there be defined paths of entrances and exits down into the viewing areas. I would have liked to have brought my children but I'm glad I didn't. The amount of pot smoking going on made my friend ill, and I had to use my inhaler. (And I'm usually not bothered by these things). Saturday was very different. It took us so long to get in we missed half the bands. At least we could hear Weezer while we waited. I heard multiple stories about why this was happening. Some said the ticket scanners were not working right. Others said it was because they were searching everyone thoroughly. All I know is that a gate was pulled down and a lot of people ran in. After that our line suddenly moved really fast and we just had to hold our tickets up to walk in. I enjoyed a lot of bands I had never heard before, and maybe I'm just getting to old for these things, but next time I plan on just going to a nearby restaurant and spend the same amount of money in comfort. I was too short to ever actually see any of the bands anyway. :/. My husband was upset about the beer tents and apartments in the middle of the viewing area. As well as the state of the bathrooms.

  • Thank goodness it rained

    by musiclovers5 on 9/25/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5

Too many people again, not enough bathrooms again, too expensive. Not going back! We haven't ever missed a year, but will have to pass next year.

  • Better and Better each year

    by Smack1 on 9/25/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

This event just keeps getting better and better each year.

  • by Asscheeko on 9/25/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Bathroom lines take too long and getting food took too long. If these two things were ironed out. I wouldn't have missed so much music. And I believe people would not be separated from their friends/group for soo long...and possibly lose them. Long lines make or break festivals...

  • RHCP were amazing

    by 1234abcdefg on 9/25/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

The event was fun even with the rain but VIP could have been better. For paying $250 for VIP but only having 1 food truck open by the time we got there and the standing room wasnt that much better. At the Hangout Festival in Gulf Shores, AL the VIP ticket holders have standing room in front of everyone else. Our standing room at Music Midtown was off to the side an not that great. I definitely wouldn't spend money on a VIP ticket to this event in the future.

  • Oversold, crowded, and muddy

by Djkulture on 9/25/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5

I wasn't really thrilled with the line up, but i enjoy festivals so i thought i'd go. at 45 a day, it was a good deal, but it was WAY too crowded, there were not enough portapottys, I basically spend the entire night in line for the bathroom. Beers were of course, WAY too expensive ($10-$13 for 24 oz). And of course, it isn't the promoters fault, but heavy rain on saturday made it a muddy mess. It was cold and muddy and with just grass and mud to sit on. It wasn't worth staying, so we left early. FYI, I've been to Music Midtown three times before, (1999, 2000 and 2005) when it was 3 days and held near the civic center... it rained then too, but it wasn't a muddy mess (concerts were in parking lots) the lineups were better, and the area could handle the crowds and there were plenty of bathrooms.

  • Cake put the icing on top.

by SherlockHelms on 9/25/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Overall, a wonderful experience. However, it felt cramped and crowded compared to other music festivals(I've been to ultra and GotR last week). The rain on Saturday slowed everything down, including the gates to get in. What took 20 minutes on Friday, took 2 hours on Saturday. On the other hand, due to the incredible lineup and performers, none of that really mattered.

An absolutely amazing experience, honestly there is only one thing I would recommend, more sheltered area. In the even of the rain it was extremely hard to keep dry, while I understand that's too big of an issue to stop a few tents near food areas so your food wasn't getting rained on would have been awesome. Otherwise, this festival enabled me to kick something off my bucket list great lineup!

  • Bathroom Fail

by kacib on 9/25/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

I LOVED the artists that came to this event and will definitely be on the look out as to who is coming next year. I have a couple of issues. The line to get into the event at times was half a mile long. There were absolutely NO signs directing you to the entrances once you made it to Piedmont Park. The vendors that were there, for food or drink, again the lines were out of this world. Forget getting anything to eat while there. The most ridiculous part was the bathroom situation. Literally I would wait in line for 30 minutes (or more) to use the restroom. On Saturday I was at Piedmont Park for almost 12 hours, plus alcohol intake, duty calls. I would miss artists playing because I had to stand in line for so long to use it. They literally needed at least 100 more portapottys. Guys were going behind the portapottys to pee and if I could have (I am a girl) I would have! I understand you can only have a certain amount of bathroom areas but hands down they needed a lot more! For this to be a sold out event...it looks like they OVER sold. There could have easily been a 1,000 LESS people there and it still would have been over crowded.

  • I love RHCP

by Anonymous on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

great performances, first time at a festival and the rain didn't stop us. A little more coverage would've been nice, but we survived. Bathrooms were port-o-potties which are known to be nasty. But overall had an awesome time!!

  • RHCP owned the fest

by huglong on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

the festival was kind of a boring one. it did not have much to do at it. the only great thing was the red hot chilli peppers. they were ON POINT. but i probably would not go back unless they played again. it also was raining and made the rhcp even more amazing. but the festival did have a great price

  • fun weekend

by coreyml on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

The lineup was great Cake was amazing Journey was ok Weezer - a VERY popular band, for some reason, played @ 230. I got in line to get in @ 130 and due to the rain, the scanners went bad so the line turned into an angry mob trying to get in to see weezer. We were tortured for the last hour of standing in line by listening to weezer from outside the park - in the pouring rain. This was the only negative that the event organizers could help. It was very disorganized and nobody knew where the line was or what was going on. All that needed to happen was 1 person with a megaphone letting us know what to do and which mob was the line Imagine dragons was great Yeah Yeah Yeahs were ok - should have been weezer playing that late... skipped queens of the stone age to get a good spot for the RHCPs RCHPs = excellent show! Marta was even a breeze during the busiest part - going home

  • Chili Peppers are the real deal. Rocked the nation

    by Craner5 on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Awesome show. Unfortunate that it rained like crazy, but overall pretty sweet gig. Weezer and The Chili Peppers were worth the price of admission. VIP tickets were not cheap but totally worth it. Would definitely recommend shelling out the extra dough for them. Free drinks included....nice

  • Poor event planning!

by JosephHF on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

Really poorly planned. Waited in line for 1.5hrs or more in the rain while 3 volunteers scanned tickets. Nobody was in the streets directing us in, really frustrating experience and expected better. Once inside, things ran more smoothly.

  • It was amazing!

by UniversalEye on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

All the bands were fantastic. It did rain, but still worth it, maybe even cleared out the less dedicated music fans. Got super close to all of the bands. Just amazing overall and you should go if you have the option.

  • Wet,sloppy, and fun

Both days were great . Nothing like mud pits and great music.
