Non stop great music for 8 hours. I'm glad it is back.
Overall the show was GREAT! Nice weather, great bands, decent food and drinks. BUT, NOT ENOUGH BATHROOMS!.
Awesome event!! Venue was beautiful and easy to get to. Security was super friendly and helpful. Cannot wait until next year!!
Better set list. Bottom Line. They need to get better up and coming bands for the main headlining act. Also, a Black Keys fan is not necessarily a Coldplay fan... You need to have some of the same threads throughout the music groups unless you have compeltely different stages. Please recruit bands from Hangout Music Fest for next year.
Music Midtown was perfect! Can't wait for next year.
Great show!!! Can't wait till next year. Coldplay was amazing!!!! Need u2 next year.
Going to Music Midtown was an event that I cherished for several years. The number of great bands and quality of performances that I was exposed to because of this festival is unmatched. I was obviously very unhappy when it was discontinued. Having the festival return got me very excited and it did not disappoint. The new location in the park was a great choice of venue. The layout was done fairly well with regards to stage, vendor, and relief station placement. The only changes I would hope to see are as follows: 1) more relief stations please, please, please. 2) more actual artists in the artist's market. 3) more bands, more days! The festival was great, I'm so glad it's back and I can't wait for next year!
This was a great event downtown at Piedmont Park. I was there all day and my favorite/most memorable performances were done by Cage the Elephant, Black Keys, Constellations, and Young the Giant. All of these were bands who play on 99X, so naturally I loved every minute. I probably had a better than average experience because a friend of mine lived 1.5 blocks from the front gate and re--entry was sooooo easy.
Great event, Good bands and good value. Could use a few more portable bathrooms but everything else was great.
Cage the Elephant were on fire and had the crowd going wild! The band puts on a sick show - and delivered as fans would have expected. Coldplay was classis as always. Had a great light show and presence from far away (big crowd by this time of the night). The sounded great and put on a high energy show. Will be looking forward to Music Midtown next year! Well done.
I absolutely loved this event. The weather. Couldn't have been better and it was a great layout in the Park. Since it was the first year back the line up was descent, coldplay and the black keys being the highlight for me. I know it'll just get better in upcoming years. Can't wait to go back next year!
Overall the concert series was great! Great Line up and location! HORRIBLE bathroom situation. The lines were so long people were getting into fights!
Coldplay and the Black Keys where great the people seemed to really enjoy Coldplay and the fans went crazy when they came on the stage everyone was singing along to everyword of there songs. GREAT TIME . let's hope they do it again next year and invite them back and bring Dave Matthews BAND with them .
Just needs more days & more bands. Coldplay was a helluva headliner!!
Good bands, but would have preferred less of the hard rock and more blues rock. Black Keys were outstanding, and Coldplay was better than expected. Terrible problem with rest rooms and waiting lines. I seen 2 female fights because lines were so long. I was in a 30 minute line twice, and my wife missed an entire band set (45 minutes) because she was in line the whole time. You must get more restrooms if you are to do this event again.
Coldplay put on the most incredible show I've ever been to. I've seen them before, and I will definitely see them again. Always a wonderful experience.
Show was well produced. Loved the VIP area with all the amenaties. Cold play was the reason we came. We liked the size and focused format better than the old festival. Lucked out with the weather....excellant.
Though the other bands were okay, as in they filled the air with sound until the main event, Coldplay sounds better live than recorded, and their use of fireworks and balloons really added to the event. I had a blast!!!!! :-)
All the bands were excellent - not a dud among them which made the event a great value and Coldplay was incredible. Every act though would have been nicer in a smaller venue, but then you don't get the fireworks, so... ;-D VIP was barely worth it though - the viewing area was off to the side (bad sound - it IS a music event afterall) and not really that close, just less crowded. Food and drink was decent and the bathrooms were very nice. Super VIP seemed completely ridiculous: we checked out what you get and upgrading just made no sense - glad we opted for a hotel room instead, got better parking, breakfast in the morning, no traffic to deal with, and still came out spending far less. They need to rethink the VIP and Super VIP viewing/LISTENing areas to make them a real value - as it was, VIP was just OK, Super VIP seemed nuts for the $$$$.
Bands were great, facility was great. I hope to see more artist next year!
