  • Great line up, Logistics need some work.

by BlaireB on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

I really enjoyed the line-up of Music Midtown. I know some people hated on it claiming to not know the bands. Too bad. These are bands you should be aware of, because they are AWESOME. Every one of them. Favorites for me were Joy Formidable and the Black Keys. A great line-up of great rock bands. Keep it coming. I know this festival hasn't been done in awhile, but the logistics definitely need some work. I think we all know what I'm talking about specifically: the Porta-Potties. Its a common theme at many festivals, but there are ways around having to wait in line for 30 minutes and almost urinating on yourself. For one, you need ALOT more of them. More of them than you could possibly imagine needing. Also, putting them all in one spot is generally better than having a handful at different locations. The best porta-potty situation I have ever experienced was at the Sweetwater 420 Fest this year. They had them all in one central location, so that you never had to wait in line. Just keep walking until you find a green one. I know there were a MUCH larger amount of people at this festival, but the idea is the same. Lots more toilets, all in one place. That is all.

  • The best day!

by sistermaryfrances on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The day was wonderful! Getting through the gate was a breeze. No waiting! We were able to get super close to the stages! We saw Walk the Moon, Band of Skulls, Young the Giant, the Black Keys, and Coldplay. The lead singer of Walk the Moon was walking around the crowd before the show painting people! It was great to have the band within the crowd. All the bands we saw put on a good show! Very intertaining. Between sets, the ground crew kept the park very clean. Everyone was very helpful and made the day enjoyable.

  • Great bands / venue - minor qualms

by Clawdyne on 9/26/11Piedmont Park - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Good The bands, for the price were awesome. Easy to see from a distance and sound traveled great. Bad Poor communication. Had to leave backpacks outside venue because we were told couldn't bring it in. Toilets wait time was about 30 minutes.

  • Can't wait for next year!

by Anonymous on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Manchester Orchestra was amazing!!! Black Keys were unbelievable!!! Coldplay was unforgettable!!

  • Coldplay the only plus

    by fanofmusic52 on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5

Enjoyed Coldplay, disappointed that smoking was allowed and that beer was far more accessible than soft drinks and water. Too few portable restrooms. Lyrics could be heard easier if music was not quite as loud.

  • Great Concert Series

by UndergroundMan on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Great concert by Cold Play and other bands. Venue was the only draw back. Towards the end of the day there was trash and beer cans everywhere. Finding a trashcan was difficult. The lines for the port-a-potties were ridiculous. I would go aging but would wait until later in the day to attend.

  • Awesome return to Atlanta

by Anonymous on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

In all, the whole event went off without a hitch - the bands were all amazingly well suited for a festival setting. The whole day was well organized and coordinated. I'll definitely be back next year.

  • Better than expected!

by Anonymous on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Great venue, great bands & great weather! Can't wait to see what they do next year!

  • Amazing Good Time!

by BHEARD on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Everything was awesome, I hope they plan to keep MM and bring on more days with better bands! Bands were kind of all along one genre....at least until Coldplay preformed. I'd like to seem more of a range. I think a GA based band should of been on stage at some point in the day. I found the two beer tents that were in the middle of the main stage should of been about 10 yards back. Need more Porta Potties!!! That is a must, they should have spots where there might only be 10 rather than a spot of a line of 25. Random spots help with less cluster! Beer should be $8 for a tall boy not $10 expensive!

I absolutely had a blast! I've seen Coldplay at an outdoor venue before, but this was incredible. First off, to be surrounded by throngs of people all into the music as much as me was fabulous. Second, Chris Martin has amazing amounts of energy. The man connects with the crowd so much and feeds off our energy. They played a lot of their old stuff which hit the mark....and the fireworks near the end didn't hurt either.

COLDPLAY WAS AWESOME! could have used some more walking around water vendors! Didn't want to leave my spot for coldplay!

  • ColdPlay was amazing!!

by ksquaredpower on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

the concert was amazing the only bad thing was if your short it is very hard to see!! But in the end I moved to the back were is was less crowed and enjoyed it.

  • AWESOME.

by cheesetoastable on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

it was a wonderful day with a lot of great music. the only thing that i would change is a break between bands. it was stressful trying to get from one stage to the next. i understand there is a set time just to fit in bands, but it'd be better to just have 9 bands and have a 15-20 minute break between bands. overall, it was a great event and definitely plan on returning next year!!

  • Music Midtown returned and hope it stays!

by Leslito on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Music midtown was brilliant, the whole event was really well organised and the bands were great. Coldplay were amazing and the show they put on was fantastic. The one thing that let it down was the queues for the toilets - they were too long and at one stage it took over 30 minutes to get to a cubicle.

  • can't wait for 2012 version

    by Exxfan1 on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

amazing concert. great bands putting on great shows (except cage the elephant-VERY disappointing and the only lowlight). Not a big coldplay fan but they put on an entertaining set. Black Keys,Manchester Orchestra and the Joy Formidable stole the day.

  • by Anonymous on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Very well organized, beautiful setting in the park, the set list was fantastic, and every band that was featured gave an incredible show. Great music choices, but hopefully there will be more diversity in the music next year (i.e. hip-hop artists, etc)

  • Black Keys was off the charts

by Anonymous on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

The music was incredible and loved the variety of vendors. Big miss was the bathroom situation. There weren't nearly enough bathrooms available to all of the guests. Also, for the future, I would like to see the food trucks of Atlanta to be integrated into the event instead of food tents. The variety of the food was good though.

  • band of skulls rocked my face off

    by Ala0013 on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I wouldn't change a thing except maybe longer set times for the other bands, even though I know coldplay was the main attraction.

  • Awesome!!

by Rashaad on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was awesome! From the location to the musicians it was just great! The Black keys was awesome, but Coldplay was down right unforgettable. They didn't only have great songs but they also had a great light show with entertainment of a high quality!

  • Coldplay was truly magnificent

    by coldbeatle89 on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The whole show was fantastic, but Coldplay truly kicked it up a notch. One of the best events of my lifetime, for sure.
