  • Concert of the Year!!

    by Energie88 on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

What else can I say. There's no other place you could see this many incredible bands for 55 dollars. I looked forward to seeing Coldplay and The Joy Formidable the most. The Joy Formidable were amazing, even better than I had anticipated as it was the first time seeing them live. I was also pleasantly surprised with Walk the Moon. "Anna Sun" sounded fantastic live. And then Coldplay happened. Absolutely mindblowing. There were no letdowns at all the entire day. There was plenty of Food/Drink throughout the park and the layout of the festival was perfect. You could choose to hang out on the hill in the shade or get right up close to the stage. The alternating stages was perhaps the best idea of all. Everything seemed really well thought-out. Please bring Music Midtown back next year. I would buy my ticket today if I could.

  • Artists were great - the Lines were NOT!

by MeganMac on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

I am an avid concert goer and have been to hundreds of concerts over the years. I really loved the idea of Music Midtown, the use of the Park, the artists were great (especially Coldplay) but the lines were horrible. The food vendor lines were ridiculous, but did not compare to the bathroom lines. An hour wait for intoxicated concert goers to go pee - is absolutely ridiculous! I was scared to drink anything the whole evening!! My husband ended up peeing in places he shouldn't have. If you are expecting thousands of people, bring enough bathrooms for the crowd.

I loved the location. You could see well from everywhere. I would defiantly go to a concert here again. It was nice that the bathrooms where not all in one place.

  • Super VIP was great

by Anonymous on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Great Festival! This was my first time there and it was worth it. Really enjoyed the Super VIP treatment and would definitely pay the extra amount and do it again. The venue was wonderful and the bands were awesome. This would be great as a multi day festival. The seats were great. Super VIP section for the main stage was off to the side a little but it was away from the crowd. You had your own bar as well. Super VIP for the second stage was on stage on a small side platform so you are above the band. You are back stage for the entire festival and can walk right beside the bands at times.

Music Midtown was one of the best experiences of my life. Overall amazing people, incredible bands and performances, and a great setting. I don't care where I am next year, I'm coming to Atlanta for this event.

  • Better information needed about VIP benefits

by CharlestonConcertFan on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5

Coldplay was great, although their set was a little short. We've seen them 3 times in concert (MMF was our 4th), and they are an incredible band. Despite the musical triumph, we were really disappointed to arrive at Midtown Music Festival with tickets that had rows/ seat numbers and discover that we didn't have seats at all. We paid quite a bit extra for VIP tickets and didn't realize any benefits for the extra price. We brought 2 11-year-olds who are huge Coldplay fans, and we had to stand about half a mile away from the stage. We were "allowed" free drinks and food, but we couldn't get anywhere near the VIP area to take advantage of that benefit. In retrospect, we would have just bought the cheap "seats" and arrived with lawn blankets. Please make sure for future events that patrons who purchase VIP seats know exactly what they are getting for the purchase. We wouldn't have driven 5 hours if we realized we didn't have physical seats. The numbers on the tickets were misleading.

  • COLDPLAY WAS INCREDIBLE

by AbbeyEC on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I had so much fun. The park was beautiful, the stages were great, the musicians were phenomenal. I found a new favorite artist, the black keys. I had never been a huge fan but they were great live. Coldplay stole the show. They were so amazing. Better than all of my expectations. I was so surprised thtat they went all out with fireworks and lights and such.

  • Best festival EVER!

by ShellsBellsinFLA on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

This event was GREAT! The setting at Piedmont Park in ATL was beautiful, the bands rocked, and I splurged and got the VIP ticket which I think was a great value for the money!!!!!!!!!! hope there is another next year!

  • ALL IN ALL...A GREAT SHOW!

by WhitBB on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

I enjoyed the show. I thought it was put together nicely. the weather was perfect and there was plenty of things for the guests to enjoy. the restroom situation needs some improvement. The lines were outrageous. I nearly missed all of one act just to get in and out of the porta jon. That needs to be fixed.

  • Coldplay was Incredible!!!!

by Novasea on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

I enjoyed most of the bands, but especially the Black Keys and Coldplay. Coldplay was amazing and I loved seeing them live.

  • by Jenn498764 on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Truly amazing concert full of passionate musicians. I had chills during Coldplay. There energy level was perfect to fill up the park and they took advantage of it being outdoors with fireworks! Definitely an amazing concert!

  • Happy music midtown is back!

  • Freaking awesome

by Emshmem on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Although it was pretty hot and I almost got smushed to death before Coldplay played, I was pretty close to the stage for Manchester Orchestra, The Black Keys, and Coldplay. The only problem was that you pretty much had to stay with one stage. If you got out of the crowd to see a band at the other stage, you couldn't really get back where you were. But other than that, it was absolutely incredible!!

  • Will be Great, With Some Work

by algerm on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Overall I had a great time at Music Midtown. Loved being in Piedmont Park. The lineup was pretty good, but anyone who remembers Music Midtown back in the day remembers great concerts all day for 3 days straight. Coldplay was incredible, and some of the other shows were very good as well, but a few more really big shows would've been great. There were not enough Porter Potties...period. I missed half of a show I really wanted to see while waiting in line. This needs to be better,

  • Outstanding Show!

by JasonCh on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I attended many of the past Music Midtowns and loved them. Although this event was much smaller than the past, I really enjoyed the location and lineup. This was more quality over quantity compared to years past. I look forward to MM growing in the future, but not getting too big. I also thought Piedmont Park was so much better than the parking lots of past events. We really had a great time and I look forward to next years lineup

  • Music Midtown

by ottobot on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I missed about half the concert, yet the 70 dollar general admission ticket was incredibly worth it. Hope they do it again next year! Music Midtown= best $70 I've ever spent
