  • Best Saturday Night!!!

    by yes10 on 9/27/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I went to the festival only knowing half of the bands. But the other half i did know had an amazing sets! Of course Coldplay gave an amazingly unbelievable show! The Black Keys were a great live as well. Since I missed out seeing Young the Giant at Lollapalooza this year i was very excited to see them there. I was happy to discover Walk the Moon because that had a really fun set. Glad i got to listen to them more since i only caught a couple songs at Lolla. Over all the weather and the crowd was great so needless to say overall it was Amazing!!!

  • Black Keys stole the show.

    by atlmeister86 on 9/27/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

The hype around Coldplay was merited, but The Black Keys definitely put on a better show. I wasn't too impressed with a lot of the other bands. Manchester Orchestra put on a great show, but were WAY unprofessional when they tuned their guitars over the speakers between songs. I liked the two stage system, but I felt some bands got the shaft because of it. My biggest complaint was putting the beer tents right in front of the main stage. It caused so many problems of people getting stuck and making it too crowded for people to get to the stage. Overall, it was a great show. The sound was mixed excellently and it was well organized.

  • Forth time was the charm

The midtown festival show was my forth Coldplay in four years. I went alone on 9-5-2008 to the Atlanta show and was impressed by the way the band interacted with the crowd. We were part of the experience. I saw the boys again at Wembly at the last show in March of 2009, increadiable concert, Jay-Z adding the rap on LOST, all I can say is DAMN and London is one of the coolest cities in the world. I was truely hooked and my next Coldplay experience was in Mexico City , Feb 2010. The Concert was at a race track and I was about 50 meters from the band at a Coldplay show unlike the 500 meters the were mentioned in the left, right, left, right concert clip cd which I recieved at the Wembly show. Saturday night, 9-24-2011, blue skies 20 feet from the stage. My latest show was in the city where I say my first Coldplay show almost 4 years earlier. This is why I go to concerts, good drink, good food, good people and most of all good, no, great music. I will make it a fifth in 2012.

  • Great day in Atlanta!

The city brought it back this year, and it was fantastic! Definitely great music, vendors and food, and excellent location in Piedmont Park. They should reinstate it as an annual event.

The Show, food, scenery, and the overall production was absolutely wonderful.

  • Black Keys are awesome

by Rockinstuff on 9/27/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Pity is was only one day and short sets by all bands. Decent lineup, hope they have better selection and longer sets next time. Food/beer too expensive and long lines to urinate.

  • All I have to say is COLDPLAY!!!!

by Anonymous on 9/27/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Music Midtown this year was awesome (simply because of one word, Coldplay!!!!) despite the couple years of absence. I came to see Coldplay and surely got what I expected; well, exceeded my expectation. The crowd was alive, and the stage effects were amazing! Well done, well done!

As a native of Atlanta, Music Midtown was an event that I looked forward to every year. When I found out it was coming back this year I was SO excited!! This year it was FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nicely done for sure. They wanted to get back to the grass roots of music festivals and mission accomplished! I have been to multiple festivals and this is one I hope becomes an end of summer Atlanta tradition again! PLEASE..........

  • Coldplay spoke to my soul.

by Najahy on 9/27/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I'm from New Jersey, so I've never had the opportunity to attend Music Midtown in the past. This is my first year going to a concert this big ever. It was life-changing. Chris Martin is a beautiful man with a beautiful voice. His stage presence is enough to make you fall in love. And the constellations and the Joy Formidable were perfect opening acts. I stayed located at one stage so I could keep my good spot. But it was a truly magical event.

  • Truly amazing

by Rawrrawrrawr on 9/27/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I really wanted to go to the concert for the black keys, but the whole line up was amazing. Band of Skulls, The Constellations, and, of course, The Black Keys were my favorites. The tech show was great, especially for Cold Play. I must admit in being disappointed in Cage the Elephant; I was looking forward to their show, but the lead singer was too drunk to do anything worthwhile. Some of the vendors were ridiculous in their food prices, but there was a good selection, and rest rooms were readily available and adequate. I certainly plan on going next year!

  • WORTH EVERY PENNY

by GimT on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Midtown Music Fest tickets: $55. Mediocre burger: $8. Seeing Young the Giant, Black Keys, and COLDPLAY with 90,000 of my closest friends: priceless.

  • by Anonymous on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

great venue and bands. Good crowd and space. Only complaint is not near enough restrooms. Wait time at least 40 mins

  • by Anonymous on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Absolutely amazing music. All the artists were freaking awesome!! Unfortunately missed cage the elephant because I didn't want to lose my spot for coldplay's performance right after. But my and my buds had a BLAST!!! Only issues: chairs weren't allowed. And as if the $71 spent wasn't enough, we couldn't bring our own water and thus forced to buy $1.25 water for $3. Then there were the idiot/annoying drunks, the smokers and pot heads making it uncomfortable.

  • Best overall festival!

    by ckjudd1 on 9/26/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

It was the best overall music festival I have been too. The line up was fantastic! The Joy Formidable was awesome and Coldplay was an incredible experience! It was very well organized with plenty of everything that you need and everyone was a huge help. We promise to come back next year!

This was an epic event and the fact that it was filled with talented artist made it an event that should have not been missed. Coldplays impressive stage presence and their energy toward Atlanta fan base was much appreciated and adored. The ending was by far the best I've ever seen in any concert. Every penny spent was well worth the experience.
