Everything about the festival was amazing. The crowd was great, Coldplay sounded amazing, and the set up in general was great! Can't wait to go next year! Hard not to love Atlanta!

  • Coldplay was epically captivating!

It was a spectacular concert. I really loved the Black Keys, I've discovered a band I really love live. They are nothing short of Impressive. And then Coldplay...How can you not love them? They have the highest energy I've seen on stage, they spread their love and appreciation of their audience literally LEFT and RIGHT. Not only their music is excellent and magical, enrapturing and beyond mesmerizing, but their stage presentation was a feast for the eye. Chris Martin's charisma is constantly present, as always he never ever lets you down and his energetic presence is connected at the individual level. I've seen them before in 2005 at Phillips Arena and their concert was amazing. For some reason I wasn't expecting the same. I thought it would be a watered down version, but I couldn't be more wrong. Fireworks? Laser Show? Amazing Lighting? Huge Balloons thrown at the audience to play with? What can I say? I just adore these guys...now I can't wait for them to come to Atlanta for their tour! Unfortunately I didn't see much of the other bands because I got there at 6...but these two bands were definitely the best of what I've seen.

Great atmosphere, people and music. Could be more trash cans available next time and there needed to be more portapotties.

  • Awesome shows in a beautiful park !!

by FestivalsFoLife on 9/29/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Show area was small enough to see both stages without having to constantly get up and move. Lots of options to eat and shop. The best part however was the lineup....Manchester Orchestra and Coldplay stole the show. Can't wait to go back next year!! Totally worth my $75.

  • It was all about Coldplay!

by frizzzz on 9/28/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

I paid the cost (including the online fee) because of Coldplay, and I'm glad I did. They were fabuloso!!! Amazing! The other bands were not good... However, I liked Black Keys alot... sounded like Van Morrison... !

  • Coldplay=Amazing

I went to the Coldplay concert because my boyfriend and his cousin are HUGE Coldplay fans, but I only know a few songs. I was thinking the concert was going to be a little boring for me since I wouldnt know a lot of the songs being performed. However, I was very mistaken in thinking I would be the least bit bored. Coldplay, whether you know their songs or not, put on such a great concert that you couldn't help but get into it. The lead singer, Chris Martin, seems like such a humble, considerate man and it was great to see him perform and listen to him interact with the audience.

  • A great experience

I am a seasoned concert attendee, averaging about one a month for the last two years, but somehow this was my first music festival. Overall, it was a great experience. I was very pleased with the whole day. I got there right as the first act, The Postelles, opened. They had a pretty good show, considering the low number of people there. Walk the Moon proved to be the most personable band of the day and had a great energy. They really interacted with their fans well (came out and painted some faces with face paint as is tradition at all their shows & took pictures). As the day went on, more and more people flooded the park. Eventually you had to push and shove a bit to keep your spot. However, most people seemed willing to have a good attitude if you had a good attitude and remained respectful of their space as much as you can at concerts. Manchester Orchestra was good, if you're into a more head banging than jump up and down crowd. The Black Keys were a crowd favorite. And then there was Coldplay... awesome! I'd seen their live show from Glastonbury on tv, and I have to say, it was equally good. I was a bit disappointed that they ended their set 20 minutes early, but I was honestly just thankful to get to see them live. The crowd was good; I loved hearing everyone singing along. Disappointments: In order to be anywhere close to the stages for the later shows you had to miss out on the action at the other stage to ensure your spot for the next show. This bummed me out because I really didn't get to see much of Young The Giant and didn't get to see any of Cage the Elephant. It really just depends on your personal preference whether you'd rather be close to the stage for your favorites, or experience all the action from further away. Best features to take advantage of: Free products from businesses and chances to win stuff (this is good if you aren't really into one of the bands, or if you get there early) You are allowed to bring your own empty reusable water bottle or camelback (or one factory sealed bottle of water) and there are water fountains for free refills. Great way to be green and save money Other: Plenty of Merch and Alcohol Booths (if you're into that and don't mind putting down some cash for it). Good T-shirt designs for the actual festival shirts! Lots of port-a-potties. Not much shade around the stage areas (4 days later and I'm still sunburned after lots of aloe... bring sunscreen). Weather was great, but the ground was muddy from the rain earlier on during the week (wear shoes that you're not afraid to get dirty). Most people took Marta and there was a huge line after the show, but honestly that's to be expected, right? Great experience. Highly recommended

It was an enjoyable show. i wish the stages were closer together.

  • Coldplay was incredible-also found new bands!

by TheKTrain on 9/28/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The festival was wonderful, luckily there was perfect weather and the entire event seemed to flow smoothly. They did a great job with alternating stages and bands always started EXACTLY on time. The venue was lovely and there was a wide variety of great vendors. I did have to stay in the same spot for hours to get up close for the last few main acts, including The Black Keys and Coldplay, but it was worth it. I discovered a few new bands I really like including The Postelles, Walk The Moon, and Band of Skulls. I was really disappointed in The Constellations, Manchester Orchestra, and The Joy Formidable. They were pretty boring but that is of course just my personal opinion. I will definitely be going back next year!

  • MM back after years; doesn't miss a beat!

    by annapeach16 on 9/28/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Music Midtown came back with a GREAT time! The only negative thing I have to say about the entire experience is the lines for the porta-potties. I know, there are never enough, but maybe adding a few more will mean people can get back to enjoying the music more quickly. The bands were great, the food/drink/vending was perfect, LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Coldplay was PHENOMENAL. Black Keys was amazing. I didn't know much about the other bands but most of them I loved.

great weather, great place...really enjoyed the entire day!!!!

  • Incredible.

by Revolutionary on 9/28/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

First and foremost, Coldplay. I firmly believe everyone should see them live before they die. Absolute killer show. The rest of the festival was fantastic as well, though I couldn't see every band I wanted and still be up close for another band at the other stage. Such a great lineup overall though. Definitely would go again.

The whole event was awesome! My sister and I were able to get barrier on the Coldplay stage. It was amazing to see all the acts so close. Two compliants about being up front. 1. WATER! There were people selling beer all over the place but we couldn't get water. People camped out on that stage and we were not able to leave and toward the end we were actually stuck there. After an interesting Twitter exchange the event staff brought several cases of water out and it was so amazing!!! 2. The press! They were allowed in front for 3 songs. So for the first 3 songs of every set our view was completely blocked because they stood on the barriers to take pictures. Many times they camped out for the whole time. Some were nice and hopped up and snapped their pics then got down. Overall the event was really well organized! Cant' wait to see what they do next year.

Fun atmosphere. Lots of standing if you want to be near the bands, but spots to sit on the hill overlooking the stages if you need to rest. Bands were great, really high energy.

  • Great venue, great bands

by BryMcE on 9/27/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I really enjoyed watching the bands at Piedmont Park with downtown Atlanta as a backdrop. All the bands were great, but Coldplay blew away my expectations. Great show!

  • by Anonymous on 9/27/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Coldplay and the Black Keys along with Young the Giant and Walk the moon were all very very very good. I loved the energy of the crowd but there was a lot of pushing towards the front of the crowd as Coldplay was about to come on to the stage.

  • Great bands

    by Blasted1 on 9/27/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

The sound system was absolutely awesome. Young the Giant sounded fantastic and Coldplay was even better. The venue itself was excellent. The negative, there were not enough porta johns for the number of people. Way to much emphasis on alcohol sales. Beer tents were every 20 feet. Alcohol is fine but give me a break. There were plenty of great food choices, but I would rather there have been more of the catering trucks.
