  • Can't wait to see what next year brings

by NYace on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Great to see big events like this coming back to Atlanta. Shows were fantastic. Girl Talk, Foo Fighters & Pearl Jam were the highlights. Very easy to get a beer with tons of beer tents and vendors walking around Location and quantity of restrooms were poorly managed

I loved this festival! All the music moved smoothly from one stage to the other. Also the johns were kept very clean!

  • Like a Phoenix Rising..... an Atlanta Tradition

The resurrection of this festival was definitely a success. The City of Atlanta has a tradition of rising from the ashes and Music Midtown is no exception. All of the bands were amazing and the event was very well put together. I only wish it could have been 2 days instead of just one!!! definitely looking forward to next year.

  • Entire event was amazing

We got there early and camped out on barrier to see Coldplay all day! The Constellations blew me away! I will definitely be seeing them again soon! Coldplay was amazing! Chris Martin was in a very good mood and really connected with the audience despite some technical difficulties with a guitar. I'm not a huge Black Keys fan but they still put on a good show. I was a little surprised though that they seemed to cut short their set. I can't wait to see who comes next year!

Great show.. COLDPLAY AND THE BLACK KEYS ARE KILLER

  • Bring it back next year!

by Sassygayfriend on 10/28/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the entire venue. Came especially to see The Black Keys and Coldplay who never disappoint the Atlanta audience. Loved them. How about more porta potties, though? Left to use the Kroger bathroom up the street

Great. The venue was muddy so my shoes are now ruined.

  • Best concert ever!

by KSbabyD on 10/10/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

While it was crowded, as to be expected with Coldplay, the concert and atmosphere was amazing

Incredible artists who actually sound better live than they do on recordings, a rare acheivment these days.

  • So happy its back!!

Overall, I thought everything was perfect! Perfect weather, good food, suprisingly clean and nicely stocked Potta-Potty's, GREAT bands, nice people and good set-up! Just a few changes that may help.....make sure next year to have A LOT more Potta-Potty's, more stages instead of the 2 to kind of break-up the extremely LARGE hoard of people, and it would be nice to go back to the 2-3 days of music instead of just the 1 and there should be all kinds off different genres of music. However I discovered a few new bands I now love and Coldplay was amazing!!!! Well Done!!

  • Had a blast

by midtownrocked on 10/5/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

So much fun. so many great bands. I liked the constellations, The Joy Formidable, The Black Keys, and of course Coldplay.

  • Overall great festival

by Anonymous on 10/5/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Solid Black Keys performance, Cage the Elephant was putting on a great show as well. Band of Skulls were tight, but need to work on a stage presence if they want a larger following. Loved the Constellations as well, need to catch them in a smaller venue later.

  • Music Midtown 2011 was a huge success

by Pauljak on 10/3/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I went in w/ low expectations being that this was much smaller than past Music Midtowns. I was pleasantly surprised. I promote shows so I attend several shows a week and many festivals throughout the year so I like to think I know a bit about a good show and good atmosphere. Music Midtown 2011 was a great success. Everyone I know had a blast. The bands were diverse and fairly well known. The stage setup was great as you could stay in one spot to see and hear both stages (for the most part). I had a great time. It was a great Atlanta festival. I look forward to it next year. Add a local-only band stage and I think it would be that much better and attract more of the local music community. There were not enough bathrooms at this event. This was a huge problem.

  • Musical Ecstacy

by GarrisonS on 10/2/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Perfect Weather, great location, perfectly coordinated event. Inimical bliss would be the phrase describe music from the Black Keys, Cold Play, and Young the Giant.

  • Coldplay was Brilliant

    by Toodster45 on 10/2/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen many shows in my lifetime from AC/DC to Elton John and this performance stands out as one of my all-time greatest concerts! Chris Martin was not only his usual brilliance at singing his usual line-up from his Coldplay repertoire, but he sang an R.E.M. song as a tribute to the breakup of their band on that Day! Everybody Hurts, one of my all time favorite songs, let alone all of R.E.M. songs. Coldplay went even further to make us in Atlanta feel unique and special by playing an old favorite: Georgia on My Mind! That was sweet, and to hear the new songs from the upcoming release of Mylo Xyloto, live for the first time, just topped it all off to make it one amazing life changing experience for this old Man! I have not felt this emotional about a Concert Event since I saw Rush for the first time in 1985; this however was absolutely hands down, even BETTER! What a brilliant combination of Musical Genius!! I cannot wait til next TIME!

The whole event was put together great!! The bands were awesome, the weather was perfect, and everyone had an awesome time. Only criticism would be the $10 beers and the nightmare of a port-a-potty situation (which was highly anticipated I'm sure) Other than that it was definitely worth the money and I cant wait until the next one!!

  • Best show by far!!!

by DCtozzo on 9/30/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Coldplay put on the best show we have ever seen. Wow!

  • COLDPLAY WAS THE BEST, HANDS DOWN!

by IzzyBizzy on 9/29/11PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I mainly went for Young the Giant and Coldplay, but the whole line-up was excellent. Young the Giant was new and energetic. Loved it. Coldplay was almost a magical experience. I've seen them before but I think I loved them even more this time! The weather and location was perfect. My only complaint was that the grass was really wet so my shoes (and feet) got really muddy to the point that I had to throw my shoes away by the end of the night. Everything else was great! The beer prices could go down a bit ;)

  • EPIC.
