  • Music Midtown 2012

by Boiconfessed on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Most of the bands were awesome... Adam Ant, Foo Fighters, Florence and the Machine, Pearl Jam, Garbage, Girl Talk... not so wild on the rap, but it was ok. Only problem was it was soooooooo crowded and the wait time for the bathroom was like 20-30 minutes.

  • Avett Brothers, Ludacris and Pearl Jam Rocked

    by Droz92 on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

The venue in Piedmont Park was great. The Avett Brothers really came into their own with a wicked show! Foo Fighters came out after and did a solid job. Saturday was a great day with some good early shows. Ludacris really got it going and his hometown crowd was loving it. Pearl Jam came out and did what they do....best 2 hours of rock-n-roll on the planet! Only thing holding the event from 5 stars was the lack of enough porta-johns and a system to get carded once and get a bracelet to buy beers. It was convoluted to have to whip out the ID every time you get a beer.

  • Too crowded

    by Glamber12 on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5

Way too many people in one space. Inadequate restroom facilities. Overpriced beer. Weak lineup. Bring back the days where the streets were blocked off and festival could spread out.

  • Foo Fighters/Avett Bros/Florence/PJ AMAZING!

    by bcm1483 on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Such a great weekend! Music was amazing!! Cannot wait for next year! Port A Potty lines were insane but the rest was great! Next year there should be 21 and up wrist bands for alcohol.

  • Well Organized, Great Music!

by EdwardLovesMusic on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The title says it all! Everytthing was well organized and most all of the groups really did a great job. Highly recommended.

  • Overpriced and Overrated

by Rtcooa on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

Foo Fighters, Garbage, and The Avett Brothers were awesome but everone else fell short of my expectations. I know that when you go to an event everything will be expensive but $13 for a beer? Seriously!?

  • Music Midtown worth it!

by muzicfam on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Our first time to Music Midtown. Line-up was great. Hard to miss with Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam. Only irritation was at some point on Saturday none of the ATM's were working. Took a while to fix. (You want people to be able to get more cash especially when the vendors also require cash and are not accepting debit/credit.) Maybe due to all the cell phone usage as we had difficulty going on line while at the Park. Otherwise it was a great weekend!

Very disappointed with Music Midtown as an event this year. The crowd control was terrible, I waited 30 minutes and up to use literally overflowing porta potties both days, and their were no garbage or recycling cans to be found so there was trash all over the ground. It was very, very smoky everywhere (and people were very inconsiderate with their smoking), so much that I spent all weekend with my eyes and throat burning. It definitely went downhill from last year. There seemed to be a lot of tech problems -- Florence & the Machine started their first song THREE times because the sound way off (and sounded terrible for the whole set), Pearl Jam had a couple of awkward pauses. I'll definitely be skipping Music Midtown next year and will catch the bands somewhere else on their tour.

  • Not enough bathrooms

by Anonymous on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Great show. Plenty of food/drink tents. Not NEARLY enough bathrooms. Would consider not returning because of this.

  • Epic!

by Anonymous on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Music midtown did not disappoint this year. All the bands brought their A-game and it was an experience I will always remember. I got too see the legendary Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters and they were both incredible. I loved Florence the Machine and was so excited to see her in all her glory. Garbage was awesome and she still rocks the house. The only complaint I have were the crowds. There were too many people and it was uncomfortable at the end of the night. Next time I'll be in the back because even close to the front I never saw Eddie Vedder.

  • unbelievable!

    by teacheratl28 on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely loved the festival. Perfect venue, perfect weather, great food, everything on time... Really a great 2 days. Only thing they need is more portapotties. Those lines were ridiculous.

  • Foo Fighters were untouchable. Pearl....who?

    by Follman3 on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Venue was flea infested. Many filler acts. However, the event was well organized.

  • Amazing, but needs more bathrooms!

    by cupcake29 on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Best festival I've ever been to. Girl Talk and Foo Fighters were the highlights. Pearl Jam should have been before Girl Talk sometimes and GT should have ended it--everyone loved it. While putting on a great performance, Pearl Jam kind of brought down the amazing energy that GT created! And the bathroom situation...there needed to be wayyyyy more. Each time I waited to go to the bathroom for at least 30 minutes at a time, and I missed the beginnings and ends of a lot of shows.

  • neon trees rocked!!!

    by helene3 on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

  • Music Midtown = awesome!

by olivejuice on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Ant wait for next year's lineup, 2012 was unforgettable. Period.

  • great lineup

    by pj20fan on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Two of rock's fiercest bands highlight a lineup that featured something for most tastes. Bands started very well close to advertised time. The 11 o'clock time limit sucked, but oh well. Not enough portajohns for 50,000 people, but lots of good food choices to go with music.

  • Avett Brothers know how to jam

by ConcertTroll on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

First time going. Great event!!! Friday night watched The Avett Brothers and Foo Fighters. I'd estimate 15-20k people were there and was totally manageable crowd. Showed up on Sunday at 5 and it was 3-4times the crowd!!! I'd estimate about 100k if not more?! The sound on the main stage for Florence & the machine and Pearl Jam was off which was really frustrating! Was really disappointed. But both bands rocked it out. Neon Trees were ok. Girl Talk (DJ) made the event a party with his music - it was like being in a big club!

  • Amazing 2 days

by McPeters on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

What a weekend! The sound on the main staged seemed to go in and out a little by the end of the weekend, but WOW.. I'll be back next year for sure!

  • by xetulas on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Everything was amazing, the line up and the organization, and the distribution of all the places there.

  • Florence + The Machine was amazing!!!!!

    by AshleeM14 on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Totally getting tickets again for next year!! I had an amazing time!!!
