  • Awesome if you never have to go to the bathroom.

    by Rushfan6 on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Great lineup. Nice shady hill. Good food. Sweetwater Lowrider! Ridiculously too few portajohns for the number of people. Also, the concession area behind the top if the hill was not well lighted and very muddy.

  • Great music - horrible organization!

    by Micki25 on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

The line up was awesome, performers were good & ran on time. The place was so crowded you could not maneuver through the people. The areas around the stage desperately needed to be roped off because if you got into the hoards of people it took FOREVER to get out. Restroom facilities desperately needed I saw tons of people using the bushes & trees more than the porta potties, I used the provided facilities and they were filthy! There was no event security on Saturday night anywhere to be found unless you lit a cigarette & then they came out of nowhere. The lighting in the food & souvenir area was terrible, they ran out of food & merchandise & you had to walk MILES to get anywhere. Sadly it was my 1st & last outdoor music festival because of this experience.

  • Great show!

by tstap on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Both days were a blast. The Avett Brothers played a great set, followed by Foo Fighters rocking the house down. Dave Grohl was hilarious with his eyebrow thing and picking at a "stalker" girl with a sign. Their Tom Petty cover was awesome as well. Florence + the Machine were incredible, especially hearing Florence sustain the high notes and her infectious personality. Lastly, but of course not least, Pearl Jam played an unforgettable show, fitting in as many songs as they could in two hours. The extended version of Even Flow was mind-numbing and the closing of Alive/Rockin' In the Free World was a perfect way to close the show. Eddie wanting to play much longer than two hours and his down to earth attitude are just examples of why Pearl Jam is the amazing band they are. Next year, make sure to get tickets to this event!

  • Foo fighters and pearl jam

by vnzolano on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I decided to come to this event for 2 reasons, pearl jam and foo fighters. Pearl jam was simply amazing they sang a lot of their best songs, some songs from their last album and overall and excellent performance. FOO FIGHTERS on the other hand were simply perfect, if you think you can see foo fighters for 2 hours and be pleased is because these guys played their hearts out, Dave was really nice and sociable with the audience and with hawkings in the drums playing a drum solo after each song and instead of wrapping the solo up he just changed pace to the beginning of another one of their songs.

  • Foo Fighters was amazing!

by Matheus on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Well, I liked the festival. The only but was the bathrooms. I had to stay in the line for, like, one hour to pee, so I lost a lot of great musics. That's not nice.

Clean, safe, wonderful bands, well organized! One of the best festivals I've been to.

  • Foo fighters- amazing!

by PercyBabs on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing show. I can not wait to go next year. I hope that Foo Fighters will play again. Considering how many people were there, the venue still handled the crowd well. Piedmont Park is beautiful.

  • Garbage brought it.

    by Jayjay1313 on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I went both days and it was amazing. But Saturday it was very crowded and the port-a-potties lines and food vendor lines very busy, on the other hand the alcohol and craft beer lines had a walk up and order feel. The band selection was eclectic. I really enjoyed that hometown feel when T.I. or Ludacris came out. Both Headliners Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam killed it during their sets! But my favorite had to be Shirley Manson and Garbage whom played perfectly, rocked hard during 85 degree heat and looked fabulous doing it, at 46 she is hotter than ever!

  • Music, fantastic...venue planning was poor

    by Sammy1111 on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

The event planers need to understand When 56k people show up at a event. You will need 36k places to use the restroom. The good news 56k great people hearing fantastic music! Thanks

  • Foo Fighters were awseome!!

by Deeedro on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

It was a lot of fun! Felt safe and had a blast! :)

  • PJ and Foo rocked it out...

by Anonymous on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

but whoever is responsible for cutting them off at 2 hours is ridiculous. Overall the show was good. Glad I didn't pay for VIP or I would be steaming. Looks like they subsidized the show for the rest of us.

  • Unbelievable experience

by Lovdarock on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

This puts Atlanta on the map for music festivals that absolutely kick butt. I have nothing bad to say about this festival. Truly magical. The bands chosen to participate, the grounds the food drink ambience was all top notch. Beer was a little expensive but got to expect thtat at a festival. Truly spectacular foo fighters. I only went Friday night but no matter How tired I am next year I'll be dragging myself to both days. Absolutely unforgettable night.

CONCERT: Music and sound was great. Nice mix of bands. Would have been nice if the stages were a little farther apart. VENUE: The weather was perfect, which made Piedmont Park a fantastic location. Would've been a disaster if it rained. Lots of food, drink, and port-a-potties. Would've been really nice if MARTA had run the trains a little more frequently on Saturday.

  • Absolutely amazing!!!

by chasingE on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

This festival was amazing! The headliners were, of course, incredible! Foo Fighters had the best energy with the crowd on Friday night, Avett Brothers had so much energy as did Neon Trees! Pearl Jam... well you can't say anything except that they are incredible and Eddie is a genius. Venue was set-up well enough to hold enough people and there were enough stands that it didn't seem like a long line, unless it was the bathroom.

  • Music Midtown is ALIVE!

by lizlizlizoo on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

What a great weekend in Atlanta!!! Friday was awesome and Saturday was the greatest spectacle I have ever seen in Piedmont Park!! Friday's performance by Avett Brothers was so beautiful and so much fun! Great vibes going on in the park and great music. I'm not a big Foo Fighters fan but it was a really fun performance. Ludacris showed his love for Atl and we gave it right back, an evening performance would have been more ideal but there was plenty of dancing in the afternoon sun. Florence + the Machine was INCREDIBLE!! I'm an even bigger fan now than I already was before the show. She is such an impressive vocal talent. Dog Days Are Over was magical. Girl Talk's show in the park was the best of the 3 times I've seen him and the biggest and BEST dance party I've ever attended in my life. Seriously awesome vibes. Pearl Jam showed that they are forever a classic band. I preferred Cold Play's performance last year as the headliner but PJ was still a great time and a crowd pleaser. I'm sore from all the dancing I did this weekend. SO glad Music Midtown is back. Thank you Atlanta, you did me right, made me proud. Can't wait for next year.

  • Worth the money and effort!

    by Alien45 on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

After the long walk from the Marta station and the long entrance line, the rest of the event was well-run, with great acts and clockwork timing. Turnout and energy were fantastic for an awesome Foo Fighters performance on Friday night. Props to the cleaning staff for picking up thousands of cast-off beer cups and cans within minutes of the end of each show! it was GREAT to see Adam Ant onstage again, playing tracks from all of his albums and reviving the sound and look of the Ants. Next time, we'll give ourselves more time to get into the park and maybe stay downtown to avoid the Marta crush after the final encore.

  • GREAT LINE UP, LOCALE AND WEATHER~

by Dilywattslaptyback on 9/23/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

GREAT TO HAVE MIDTOWN BACK AGAIN, AND THIS TIME REALLY IN MIDTOWN, RATHER THAN DOWNTOWN! Line up was incredible, facilities (toilets) could have been more, but everyone played nice overall with the waiting. Love the location in Piedmont Park this year, and in September WAY better than May for weather!
