  • Awesome Festival!

    by XYZ9876 on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

This festival was amazing! The bands/performers were all great. I would recommend a little bit of lag time between events though. Also, some misting stations would have been wonderful since it was kind of hot this weekend.

We had a great time at Music Midtown. Compared to other concerts we've seen at Piedmont Park, the organization was fantastic overall. Lines for drinks were almost nonexistent and it was generally easy to buy food too (though the lines got a little bit out of hand toward the end of Saturday). The only negative that stands out is that there were no where near enough restrooms for the number of people there. Especially Saturday. 30-45 minutes each time you needed to make a pit-stop took away from enjoying the music and definitely made us think twice before buying each drink that would eventually need to "go" somewhere. I don't remember this being such a problem back when MM was at Civic Center.

  • Amazing shows!!

    by Meav12345 on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

All of the shows I went to were so fun. Florence and the Machine was nothing short of amazing. I was in awe of her the whole time. Ludacris was so much fun and Girl Talk always creates the best dance party. Gotta say though, my favorite show was the Foo Fighters. One of the best experiences I've had!

  • Friday was great, Saturday sucked

by Anonymous on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

Something was definitely wrong with the sound system on the main stage Saturday night. After listening to the unbelievable rock show put on by the Foo Fighters on Friday night I was really looking forward to Peal Jam on Saturday night. After all, they were going on the same stage with the same sound system just 24 hours later. Boy was I disappointed. We were seated on the hill in front of the stage and it sounded like the stage speakers were all on a Leslie rotating rack. In and out about every 30 seconds. It was so bad I left after the 5th PJ sound.

There are not words to describe how freaking awesome this event was, we had the best time and Foo Fighters with Joan Jett will be burned in my memory for a long long time :)

  • Well worth every penny

by rwsheets on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

This was a great experience as far as concerts go. It was packed but the bands were great, and the set up was good. I enjoyed it and will go back again if the next lineup is anything like this years.

  • Great experience

by AshLuvsMo on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

I was really impressed by the organization, the ease of entry, and amount if food and drink vendors. The lineup was incredibly impressive and I appreciated that no band played at the same time. My few complaints were the bathroom situation a well as exiting. There were not enough port-a-poties, and they were disgusting. I know you can't really help the cleanliness factor, but I would definitely recommend more bathrooms at next years event. Finally the exiting process took far too long. It took my friend and I nearly 30 minutes to leave the park and have our tickets scanned so we could come back later in the day. Next year, there needs to be more than one line of exit and more than one person scanning tickets. Otherwise, I sincerely enjoyed my weekend.

Overall the weekend was great other than the drunks.

  • Florence+the Machine = Best Concert I've ever seen

    by LoKlo25 on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Piedmont Park was a great venue! So unexpected. I'm from Chicago and used to Lollapalooza and this was a phenomenal slightly smaller more intimate and honestly nicer overall spot to see great music. Only glaring problem was the bathroom situation. There was probably only one portopotty for every 2,000 people resulting in horrendous lines and disgusting conditions. Bathroom placement being only at the back of the park was also a big problem. Otherwise though, the bands and shows were amazing and the fest great! I'd definitely come back next year!

  • MUSIC MIDTOWN FOR LIFE!

  • Five Stars With One Exception

by Crystalflowers on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Excellent stage placement allowing viewing of both stages from one location on the hill; there were virtually no delays between acts; lots of interesting vendors offering numerous food and beverage choices; friendly and laid back people everywhere! The only drawback was an insufficient number of bathrooms for the number of attendees. Lines were long even on Friday afternoon hours before the Foo Fighters were scheduled to take the stage. Take a lesson from the NOLA Jazz Fest -- waiting 45 minutes for a bathroom does not happen at Jazz Fest, even when the number of attendees is twice as large as Music Midtown.

  • Yes, Please!

by AshNMays on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

This event got even better this year! Line up was great and the food trucks were a great addition. The way the stages are set up make it easy to at least hear what is going on even if you aren't as close as you want. I liked that I could get up and walk around and still be able to hear the acts. Ludacris and Foo Fighters were by far my favorite and so entertaining to watch!

  • Foo Fighters by far best band of whole event!!

    by CCG24 on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

The Foo Fighters were amazing! TI was great.....overall Friday was a MUCH better day. Less crowds, better bands, better weather. Saturday there were just too many people. The bathroom lines were insanely long and had no kind of order. You would miss a whole band because they were so long. Pearl Jam was good but Foo Fighters blew them away!! Girl Talk was the best on Saturday night.

  • great show - lousy view

by TROLY on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

I love these festivals and rock. I am going every year and will probably come next year as well. However: 1) The stage is TOO LOW! I am almost 6ft and when I stand near the stage I can still hardly see it. So I end up watching screens.... My daughter and friends are 14 years and could not even see the head of the Dave G. They still had fun though 2) TOO MUCH GRASS and I don't mean the green grass we are standing on. You are selling Alcohol and allowing smoking of cigarettes and grass around kids that 8-14 - WHAT A BAD EXAMPLE for young generation

  • Music Midtown 2012 awesome!
