  • Pearl Jam rocked it out

    by Courtney28 on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first year going and I had the most amazing time. At first I thought it would be too hectic with stages so far apart. But after you are down there its not as far as you think!! 55,000 were there this year and it was just an awesome experience!!

  • Step towards a premier event

Weather was as good as expected, but w/52k sold out on Sat, if it were any warmer it would've been uglier. Next step for this even is to move it a few weeks deeper into fall so they can have 2 main acts play in the dark. It makes that big a diff. And if the curfew is 11pm, move up the final act to 8:30. For ex, the standard Pearl Jam show is 2.5 hours, many press 3. You need to allow for that to happen if you want to be a top end festival.

  • Pearl Jam played a great show!

by Gabelina on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

My first Music Midtown since early 2000's. Loved the venue, need bands on both stages and lots more bathroom options

Great Bands and Venue. Still need more Porta-Potties and many more trash cans! Still a great time!

Great show. Pearl Jam was the absolute best Ludacris was great as was TI. Enjoyed Florence and the Machine. LOVED Joan Jett. Foo Fighters super energy!

  • Great bands, awful toilets

by Tambonious on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

On day 2 of the festival, the port-o-potties were full to the brim and leaking everywhere. All the toilet paper was gone. I certainly didn't expect A+ cleanliness, but the situation was absolutely disgusting and completely unsanitary. The festival should contract with a different vendor next year.

pearl jam brought the house down. great sound system, all the bands sounded great. there were not enough restrooms and the ones that were there were difficult to access.

  • Everything was Awesome!

by BigEdmundGrant on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The organizers did a great job anticipating the enormous crowds. I think the whole day went as smooth as anyone could have expected. It was a wonderful, wonderful day and I am very glad I can say that I was there.

  • Midtown Music Fest Rocked!!!!

by Ohioshoegirl on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed the festival. Whoever was in charged with producing the show did an amazing job. The only complaint would be when Florence and the Machine performed their sound check during Neon Trees performance. It was very rude and distracting.

Great show with a great mix of artists for everyone's taste!

  • I'll be back next year!

by Rolltiderocker on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I've heard folks bashing the festival for lack of "comfort stations" but I thought there were plenty. The lineup was fantastic and the sound quality was spot on for every band except Pearl Jam. It was a great father/daughter weekend for us and we'll be back next year. Suggestions for next year: Radiohead, Porcupine Tree, Beck, Secret Machines, The Apples in Stereo. Thank you, Atlanta, for a super time! Roll Tide!!

  • Pearl Jam

by PJFanJoe on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Thank you, Music Midtown, for getting Pearl Jam to play. The crowd was packed, but for good reason. Everyone was accommodated, but the lines were rather long.

  • Girl Talk

by MarianneS on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Girl Talk was an amazing act! Lots of energy, lights, sound, and music for all tastes. Girl Talk is a party!!!

  • Life Changing Shows!

by GrungeLover on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Thanks for bringing incredible talent to Atlanta, and musicians who heavily influence the world of music. Foo, Pearl and Flo were absolutely incredible! Avett Brothers and Neon Trees blew my mind as first timer to their music live. A great way to end the summer!

  • Foo Fighters are the BEST!!!

    by TroyFan43 on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

All the bands I saw were very good. Of course, I liked the Foo Fighters best!! Festival was very crowded, but well organized. Weather was perfect and it was easy to see all bands. Sounds system and huge monitors were awesome. Made it easy to see/hear no matter how far you were from the stages. Didn't care for the port-a-jons, but they really have no other choice. If you're going next year, be prepared for a LONG walk to the park. No parking near park and no short cuts. haha Overall - wonderful festival and I can't wait to go back!!

  • by jmart1175 on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Overall a great event. Beer and dink prices were too high and could of used a few more porta potties on Saturday night.

  • Great bands, good food, cold beer.

by Anonymous on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

All the bands were great. Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam were amazing. Ludacris got the crowd jumping and the Avett Brothers delivered. The sound would sometimes go in and out, but overall it was fine. However, there definitely weren't enough porta potties for 50K+ people.

  • Pearl Jam & Foo Fighters were awesome!!!

by Nikknmosey on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first Music Midtown. I never went to others largely in part due to the time of year & higher chances of rain. This was perfect weather and the vendors were great and not too expensive. Can't wait till next year!

  • Great event but lack of organization

    by hips25 on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Great bands but why the rappers? It is a great deal to pay $100 for 2 days of music/ However, some details need attention. The shops were not accessible or visible. I didn't find out there was jewelry for sale until the end of the event. I walked out of the park in the dark to find out there were awesome art shops, etc. This could have been advertised better.
