  • Pearl jam was amazing!

by Anonymous on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Loved Florence and the machine and pearl jam, sound was good. There was not enough pora potties for the large crowd. A lot of my time was spent waiting in line. Cell phone use was limited coverage. Surprised about not seeing any security all day or night.

  • Great Headliners - Foo Fighters & Pearl Jam

by Anonymous on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Good time of year where it's not too hot / not too cold; however, glow in the dark "walking lanes" would be useful to avoid people tripping over those that are sitting.

As I expected it was crowded which I dont mind at all, however the sound from the speakers were horrible to say the least. Pearl Jam kept going in and out, with MM knowing that many people would be in attendence I was hoping for better speaker quality. I've heard pearl jam twice before and music midtown did not do them any justice. One again there were not nearly enough bathrooms. This will unfortantely be my last music midtown after that experience.

  • Awesome Foo Fighters

by ATLKiwi on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Great 2 days at midtown, the lead acts were top notch. The crowd was huge on Saturday which made getting around the park tough, the usual delays/long lines to use facilities

  • Fab Festival!

by RockFerrard on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

So psyched Music Midtown moved to the fall last year. This is the first chance we had to get to it and it did not disappoint! Congrats to organizers, volunteers, etc. Great organization, great bands (Florence was the BEST!!!!). Only recommendation -- more merch (basic T-s were gone when I got there) and more bathrooms!

  • Pearl Jam was fantastic!

by Anonymous on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Pearl Jam is my favorite band, i.e. my rock idols. I had hoped to get closer seating, but I could not devote a day to camping out in front of the gate or at the stage. So, I purchased VIP tickets and got a decent view from the side. They were really good, as always, playing a good mix of popular and lesser known (but still great) songs. Lots of energy and passion. I also saw part of Ludacris and Florence and the Machine. Florence was also very good. For all 3 shows, I mostly watched the big screen, which I could have done at home on the sofa, with a concert DVD, but at least the sound was "live". All in all, the festival looked great. I didn't venture outside of the VIP section, but it was enjoyable.

  • Pearl Jam was amazing!

    by Steff13grace on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Pearl Jam rocked. The only thing I would change about the event is the venue. The park made watching the show hard.

Great location. Great vendors. Amazing music. Positive vibes. Plus tons of free swag!

  • Foo Fighters, Joan Jett & TI Rocked it

    by Steph78a on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

I went both days and Friday was the better night by far. On Saturday, it seemed that the the sound wasn't as loud or consistent (it seemed that the mics were fading in & out). I would have liked for the video screens & speakers of the stage not in use to be projecting the other stage's act instead of having to walk back and forth. I missed the Avett Brothers cause I didn't want to lose my spot for Foo Fighters. There will always be complaints about not enough port-o-potties but there were plenty of food options, ATMs, shopping.

  • Foo Fights & Pearl Jam were awesome!!

by RockinMidtown on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Great time - It is what you make of it. I went General Admission on Friday and VIP on Saturday.. Both experiences were awesome. Packed house on Saturday 52,000 people and I was thanking the lord I was in VIP in a nice comfy seat with a drink in each hand - Event Merchandise was better than I expected- Would go back again!

  • Florence and the Machine wins hands down.

by KrLeSw on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

This was an awesome event. The line-up was what interested me most when considering whether or not to purchase a ticket. For the crowd, I felt like things were pretty under control the whole time too. My only complaint was that the facilities did not seem equipped for the 50K+ people who attended. There were not enough food and drink stands, and not even half the number of bathrooms they should have had. I missed an entire set just standing in line!

  • It did not disappoint

by sbarua on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

The show was great. The artists performed well. Esp. Pearl Jam and Florence and the machine. BUT the main stage sound was wayyyyyy off. Also the beer tent in the middle was a big annoyance. Otherwise it was a great festival but I think if you are going to sell 52,000 tickets you should be prepared for it in terms of area and vendors and portable toilets. And dustbins. there were no dustbins nearby to throw trash.

  • Florence and the Machine and Pearl Jam rocked out!

    by Gingerninja8 on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Definitely worth being squished between sweaty strangers. The line up for Saturday was very impressive. All of the artists came to put on a great show and they did just that. It's been a long time since Pearl Jam has played in Atlanta. When I heard they were playing at Music Midtown, I knew I had to get tickets. It was worth being hot and waiting in line for 45 minutes to use a bathroom that had no toilet paper. Music Midtown was a place where wonderful memories were made.

  • Avett Brothers were amazing!

by KristenLovesAvett on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I drove to ATL just to see The Avett Brothers at Midtown Music Festival! Just like all their other shows I've been to, it was unforgettable! I will be a die hard Avett fan for life... I loved how they play a lot of their new songs, but they also played some old stuff like "At the Beach" and "Go to Sleep." And of course, they closed with "Talk on Indolence." SO AWESOME.

  • Music Midtown 2012 (it was 2012 wasn't it?)

    by PaulM79 on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Pearl Jam was great, Luda was great, everyone of the music acts were very good come to think of it. They did a great job with food options, Marta was excellent, the Park is always a great location. Two things to grow on here. It's 2012, you are already ripping people off with overpriced beer, merch, food etc. Cash Only is unbelievably unacceptable. We do not use cash in this society, and you can afford the fees, you'll just include them anyway, If you had an enterprising sales staff you could have had Visa or Mastercard or Amex sponsor the thing. ATM banks, absolutely unacceptable. One other wholly amazingly unacceptable occurance that marred an otherwise fantastic endeavor. 55,000 people and about 50 toilets, people peeing in the bushes because of the 30 and 45 minute lines and virtually every legal potty filled to the brim with all manner of unpleasantry. Whoever planned that, woefully underestimated. That was ridiculous.

  • Pearl Jam Rocked!

by HoustonHeat on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

The venue was great and the crowd was large but not too crowded. Beer was plentiful. The crowd warmed up to Peal Jam as the show progressed and fans stayed on to hear the great music and chemistry that escalates a Pearl Jam show to the next level.

  • good time

by MysterE on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Having music festivals for 42 years now and had a great time Saturday. garbage and Adam Ant put on great shows. I enjoyed hearing bands I was less familiar with like Neon Trees and Girl Talk. Ludacris use to come by where I taught when he was just Chris starting to rhyme. His show got a good crowd reception, but I just don't connect to much rap. My complaint was - no schedules anywhere. I asked and asked and was handed one finally at 9PM. Post them about the grounds. Piedmont Park is always beautiful and pleasant. The VIP separation is a bit disruptive to the crowd "coming together". Some vendors were rip offs - cold cheeseburgers for $6! The increasing liquor sales were a bother because liquor drunks get meaner more quickly than just beer drunks and that was evident. Good thing there were no incidents as the small liquor bottles like Jack Daniels make excellent missiles for throwing.

Garbage was fantastic and so was Florence and the Machine.

  • What a triumphant return for Music Midtown

by ATLJacket on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

What a great show! The venue was set up perfectly for my taste and I also think the view from the stage was exceptional for the artists as well. Plenty of beer stands, but I would request porta-potties in more locations next year. They were on the opposite side of the venue from the main stage sound board. Overall experience was great and Pearl Jam did not disappoint. I only went Saturday so I couldn't tell you about Foo Fighters but I heard they rocked as well.

  • Outstanding

by TengaBee on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic lineup except: Civil Twilight should have had a 1 hour set and Girl Talk should have had a 30 minute set or should've been omitted all together. Also, the portapotties were absolutely repulsive.
