  • PJ Garbage outstanding

by Michman on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Second year with a great two day line up with each night ending with rock God's Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam! Sound was great on both stages and the crowd was friendly and fun. Only issue: need more bathrooms

The festival was amazing!!! So many great bands and Pearl Jam was unbelievable!! More porta-potties were needed though!

  • Day #2 Music Midtown

by ATLVISIT on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Splurged and got the VIP tickets.... they ran out of water, some food, and beer and a lot of disgruntled people in line for the restroom. Guess my expectations were pretty high when I dropped that much money!!! It was nice that there was room to move around and not get smothered like the general admission area looked to be. Nice shot of the TV screen but the fence was too high to get a good view of the stage. Had fold up chairs to use but the number of people FAR exceeded the number of chairs available. The acts were AMAZING!!!!!!

  • Midtown sat 2012

    by Rocker30303 on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Went there to mostly see pearl jam. Most the other bands I really never heard of except Ludacris. His portion of show was cool and pearl jam did a good show, I don't think the sound system was the best on the stage where Ludacris and PJ played. Not very loud. And the beers prices were outrageous as usual at a festival.

  • Pearl Jam was worth all of the sacrifice& 13 wait!

by MommaLoveBone on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The combination of other fans mixed w/ Pearl Jam fans made the day a bit trying. They didn't seem to fathom the fact that there are no fans like Pearl Jam fans & that was why we were waiting outside the gate 2 hours before it opened, ran straight to the front of the stage when it opened, and forfeited food, drink, and bathroom for the next 11 hours to keep our spot. There were quite a few people who thought they should be able to show up at their convenience, armed with their entitlement, and pull the "I am trying to get to my friends trick". Unfortunately for them, we had all been together all day and knew who was with who. Having said all of that, PEARL JAM was amazing as always. I didn't really enjoy many of the other performances, but that is just personal preference, not because they were bad. I hope the festival does great in the future, but I would not be surprised if they realize next year that Pearl Jam was the main reason for pulling in such a huge dedicated crowd. I didn't get to experience many other aspects of the festival, but it is a gorgeous venue.

All the bands put on a great show! Florence was amazing live and Girl Talk was one of the most fun dance parties! There was constant music from one stage to the next- never a dull moment. The beers were large and the bathroom lines were as well.

Fantastic venue fantastic line up. Hopefully, next year they Will double the number of bathrooms. That was only flaw.

  • midtown- ain't the same as it was before

by osuugafans on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

The line up was great, the bands rocked, the location and weather were awesome. Some logistical suggestions: 1) pipe sound and video through both stages. They could not have made that much from advertisements and with one band on at a time the venue should be bumping everywhere. 2) I have a baby son, I have never had to buy admission to a festival for him. They said if it breath it pays and not just one staff member. Luckily a good Samaritan heard our issue and gave us a ticket. They only got one night of admission from us and lost out on revenue from inside. 3) more bathrooms....spring for the urinal trucks and would it hurt to have a hand washing station or sanitizer. Each trip took an hour, so you'd miss a whole set if at wrong stage.

  • Pearl jam out standing

Great venue good crowd control. I would return eventhough i flew flew from puerto rico

  • Music Rocked.......Bathrooms were a disgrace!

by kimigirl on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Great concert venue. Easy to get in and out, great price. Beer was reasonable....10 bucks for a 24 oz...which is good. No waiting in line for beer, as they had beer vendors out and about. The music....everything started on time. Great food trucks. YUM! Bathrooms.......absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. You want me to drink 200 bucks worth of beer....which my husband and I did over two days. With no place to go to the bathroom. The one section had only 22. That is not enough for 50 plus K people. If you are going to be cheap about it.....raise the price to 75 a day. By the time Pearl Jam was on...it was a 35-55 min wait for a john and they were unusable once you got it in. Terrible. MM....clean up your pottys!

  • Fun but too much

    by Reba4 on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Impossible to see the stage TOO MANY PEOPLE I f you are going to have that many people you need more stages. The stages were so low that even if you were not to far from the stage you couldn't even see that there were actual people up there. It was impossible to get from one stage to the next without missing part of one or the other show. The screens were great and it seemed like there was plenty of vendors, beer, food. Would have liked to see more restrooms, missed half of one band waiting in line.

  • Unbelievable time.

by dontdiequinn on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

The bands were amazing, and the park. I had a great time. Surprisingly the the people at the show were pretty cool too. The only thing that bothered me was when Pearl Jam played Vedder's mic kept going out. But other than that amazing show. I want to go again next year.

  • Florence and Pearl Jam were EPIC.

    by Sallie7 on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Everything seemed well-organized and the people were all very nice. Everyone wanted everyone else to enjoy the event and all it had to offer. I do think there should be lockers next time for valuables like nicer cameras or the print explaining that rule should be larger on the ticket.

  • Civil Twilight proved to be a headliner.

    by dj27 on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

I was excited to hear Civil Twilight. They did not disappoint. I find it odd that a band with a great Atlanta base was scheduled so early in the day. They deserve to be a headliner.

I enjoyed myself at this concert. I wasn't impressed with Girl Talk and the sound system for Pearl Jam was horrible. Music Midtown was a much better show than this one.

  • Pearl Jam was amazing

by GeoffreyP on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Very little port o potties and very little food for the size of tickets that were sold. Show is comparable to the older days but not as large and not as many performers. Def a good start in the right direction; seems to improve every year.

  • Amazing

by CamilaD on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Florence and the Machine stole the show!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • by Anonymous on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Great show! I plan on going back next year. I wish there were more events like music midtown. The music selection was great. Next year i plan on going both days.

  • by Josh123456 on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

TI and Foo fighter were amazing. Two of the best performances I have ever seen

  • Pearl Jam's return to Atlanta was epic.

by Anonymous on 9/24/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Some music events are just concerts and others are historical events. Music Midtown 2012 was the latter. Recommend you do something even more epic next year such as a Grunge Reunion of Soundgarden and Alice in Chains. Music Midtown is back, now make it even stronger.
