Very fun gathering of musicians and fans! I was disappointed with Florence and the Machine's performance but I was awed by LP. Overall a great time, I'll be going next year too!

Better Than Expected
by Modeka on 9/25/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5While only a shadow of what Music Midtown was, the event was enjoyable. It needs to be greatly expanded though. The should use the whole park and at least set-up 2 more stages on the opposite side from the Meadow., They could also use many more bathrooms. Another thing that would be cool is if the video from the acts on the adjacent stage played on the video screens of the idle stage
Pearl Jam may never come to GA again
by eddieisgod on 9/25/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5btw my nickname is not for Vedder. Anyway, it was an amazing two days except for the end. The audio was on the fritz. It was the worst I've ever experienced that I paid for. The went from low volume to muffled sound to loud to distorted loud all within a couple of minutes. Then it would start all over again. We lasted about 4 songs! Really, really bad ending to a really really good weekend.
Great bands, but not great experience.
by SuperEm on 9/25/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5The line-up was fantastic, and well worth the ticket price. Day one (Friday) seemed well organized, and there were great facilities. However, Day two (Saturday) was a completely different experience, and felt like too many tickets had been sold. There were not enough food and beverage facilities for the numbers that attended, so the lines took up to 30 mins in some cases. The lines for the rest rooms were ridiculous, so there were people using bushes and fences to do their thing. Really not a strong security or police presence, so it did not feel like a safe place to be with so many people crowding.
By far the worst festival I've ever been to!
by Anonymous on 9/25/12Piedmont Park - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5Everyone giving this such high reviews must NEVER have been to any other music festival, or were too drunk to notice the MAJOR issues. 45 minute bathroom waits. Out of food, beer, etc etc at every other vendor. The only way to have a good time was to wear an adult diaper, and not be shy about changing it in a crowd. I got there a little before Florence. I half of that trying to get in the bathroom. I spent Girl Talk trying to get food. I left during halfway during Pearl Jam. that's right, I left halfway during PEARL JAM. I could barely hear them anyway! It wasn't worth the hassle.
It was ok...organization was not great
by Kats13 on 9/25/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5Seemed too much like a crowded free for all. There was no maps, no organization, no signs (Except the huge glowing EXIT sign that really was the VIP exit). The first act we saw was not too bad, really enjoyed them and not too crowded. However second act was extremely unpleasent and I had to fight through a huge crowd of people to just leave the crowd. There was a million people everywhere, going everywhere. None of the places took credit cards (come on really? every other festival does now adays) and it was hard to make out where anything was because of the crowds. Will never do that again. Couldn't enjoy the concerts cause people walking in front of you, talking loud behind you etc etc.
Best concert I've ever seen!
by ShawndraR on 9/25/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5Pearl Jam absolutely rocked and the price of admission would have been justified if they were the only show. However, the entire event was awesome and I thought laid out very well and set up great. Ludacris doing Nirvana was also pretty cool along with Florence and the Machines intense show.
Pearl Jam
by Rjksal on 9/25/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5I've wanted to see Pearl Jam since I opened the "tape" back in the day and pressed play on "Ten". I never has the chance or they never came close enough to my city for me to attend until now. It was ultimately the best show I've been to.
Pearl Jam is R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S !!!!!!!!
by Momodarden on 9/25/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5Overall great day! Perfect set up and line up. Got to go both nights and Foo Fighters was awesome too. Ludicious was a good break time for me. But seemed like a lot of people liked him. Florence was great! Pearl Jam was, as usual, off the charts! No one touches them! Hope they play for a very long time to come!

Great festival. Great Music. Pearl Jam was awesome.
Great music...miserable lines...
by Bamroz on 9/25/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5Positive vibe from the artists and the transition from stage to stage was well organized. Food lines were very long...30+min and the bathroom lines and cleanliness were unbelieveably poor.
Better of two nights
by JJ2356 on 9/25/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5The crowd for the most part was into every act and everyone seemed happy to be at the event. There was some expected irritation between concert goers, but for the most part the event went well. The music was good, the food decent although expensive for what it was ($5 corndog, etc.).
Music Midtown 2012
by patron9999 on 9/25/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5Pearl Jam was amazing - needed more time to finish!! Needed 3 hours!! Foo Fighters were also totally amazing! Best Acts - The Avett Brothers, Joan Jett, Neon Trees, Florence, Garbage Needed a few more filler bands that kept with the rock theme - 3 hip hop acts sounded exactly the same and you saw the crowds really moving around rather than watching. MORE RESTROOMS!! and some nearer to stages. The Porta-Johns were TOTALLY filled to capacity and it was extremely nasty by Saturday evening - UNACCEPTABLE and bad planning!!
Still looking for an unoccupied port-o-let
by ReservedResponse on 9/25/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5Artists as a whole as well as diversity of the bands were great. Foo Fighters exceeded expectation and, surprisingly, Girl Talk brought the house down with a fantastic set - best crowd response of any artist by far except perhaps Luda. That being said, the sound during Pearl Jam's performance was atrocious. We moved around several times during the show and it was poor at all locations. Being closer to the stage is not a good way to judge the sound quality but we did that as well and it was only adequate if you stood in front of the sound board - that's not good for a crowd of maybe 55,000 people. The port-o-let situation was unforgivable. I'm not interested in hearing that this is an issue at any outdoor venue because it's a patently untrue statement. The Hangout Festival as well as DeLuna fest have no such issues. And if the argument is that the Hangout festival caps attendance daily at 35k - perhaps MM should consider a similar cap or plan accordingly with more facilities. A min 45 min wait to use the restroom is asinine. You can't sell hard liquor and beer and expect folks to not have to urinate. I for one didn't buy a single drink during either night - not even bottled water - so I wouldn't have to stand in the line - so the facility issue also cost the venue money. I can't be the only one who didn't buy a drink b/c of the issue. Although seeing both PJ and the Foo for the price was a win, and the two stage set up was great for not moving around and still having access to both, I probably wouldn't recommened the gig to anyone for those reasons along with the cluster that is the Marta station about 30 min after closing time.
Awesome performances!
by Ashleysmashley89 on 9/25/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5It was incredible getting to see some of my favorite bands live, and even better front stage! Tons of people, tons of fun!
Foo Fighters - Greatest Band in World Today!!!
by Jammalot on 9/25/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5What an amazing weekend of music. Flew down to Rocklanta to see Foo Fighters wrap up Day 1 of the Musicfest. They blew our minds. Everything you can write about a performance they nailed. Dave Grohl can sing! Taylor Hawkins is a wicked great drummer (flashing his mighty white chompers the entire time). FF had 2 hours to perform and delivered every song I had hoped to hear, spanning their 18 years of music. The atmosphere was perfect too. Beautiful weather in the ATL, the entire audience singing along with the popular and obscure songs, the Park was great, and so were the staffers that supported the event. All I can say is that anytime the Foo Fighters come to the D.C. area, I will be there! You should too. Cannot leave without also mentioning Pearl Jam closing out Day 2. I have seen them 4 times now, and steady-Eddy just continues to do his thing. Another terrific show, jam-packed with people on a Saturday night. You could barely move, but they are so good. It does not get any better than this event. How often will you get PJ and FF at an event in your lifetime?
Kick Ass Show
by Lindsbot on 9/25/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5Went and saw the artists on Saturday at Piedmont Park. UNBELIEVABLE! Neon Trees put on a great show. Florence and the Machine was out of this world and Girl Talk totally got the crowd going. It was a beautiful day and the first time I had ever been to a show at this venue. I had an amazing time and I'll definitely be coming back!
Best Pearl Jam show yet!
by H0n3yBun5 on 9/25/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5Seen more PJ shows than i can count on two hands. Loved every minute of it!
Fix your sound system midtown!
by EddieFans on 9/25/12PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5We flew in from Chicago for Saturdays show. I am not sure that they planned very well for the amount of people that they had. We waited 45 minutes in line for the port a john. I can forgive that. But, The main reason that we flew there was to see Pearl Jam on Saturday night. They played their hearts out as usual but the sound was terrible!! EDdie Vetters microphone kept going in and out and so did most of the music. I kept hoping that the sound guys would fix it but we went until about the last two songs and then it appears that they fixed it a little bit. Most of the people in our group left early due to the disappointment in the sound. We could hear girl talk in the same location on the other stage better than we could hear the headliner. This is extremly disappointing.
