    Music Mudtown

by Sassygayfriend on 9/28/13PIEDMONT PARK - Atlanta

I know the weather is something the organizers can't control, but it certainly made for a miserable afternoon. Lines too long, porta potties were beyond disgusting, I didn't eat the whole time I was there because of the questionable hygiene. Is there any reason more permanent and clean bathrooms can't be built in the park? Between the Peachtree Road Race, Gay Pride, and all the other numerous events held in Piedmont Park, I believe the Atlanta tourism board could find the money to build more bathrooms. Okay, but the bands this year were fantastic.

Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Neighbourhood AMAZING

by BloogahWhale on 9/28/13PIEDMONT PARK - Atlanta

Even though it was pouring down rain during the festival it was amazing! The bands were amazing, the sound systems sounded perfect, even in the rain! The festival had a great selection of t-shirts and food. My only reserve was that there wasn't enough shelter from the rain in between the bands. But still the entire event was amazing and the crew did a great job making sure everyone had a good time.

    Just bad...

    by 1827 on 9/28/13PIEDMONT PARK - Atlanta

It was over crowded, it flooded, and was windy and cold. The bands were great, but the venue was crap.

    Poorly Planned

    by Joeyp770 on 9/28/13PIEDMONT PARK - Atlanta

With wait times well over an hour to get in the park, the event was not planned well at all. No place to stand and see the show when the rain was coming down in buckets. A carless event that did not offer shuttle service to the train. Shows were stacked on top of each other that you had to choose from but that wasnt too much of a problem because you are stuck in line trying to get in the park during some of the best acts. Piedmont Park is a great place for a show but this event was very poorly planned. The rain took the entire staff by shock, even though it was a leading news story in Atlanta all week that it was going to pour on Saturday. Not enough bathrooms. Way too much mud. Elderly staff trying to scan wet pieces of paper with 100000 people in line, magic word= wrist bands! Now on to the show...RHCP played a very mellow show that did not include most of the upbeat songs that I wanted to hear. QOTSA killed it...best act. Weezer was ok but it was pouring the whole time and Cake had a great encore. The rest of the show I missed due to long lines to get in.

by mimlovestherock on 9/27/13PIEDMONT PARK - Atlanta

we had a great time at music midtown...imagine dragons and red hot chili peppers were great...only complaint is how long it takes to get out of the venue because of the placement of the fences...other than that it was a great experience.

    Quite the experience!

    by floridamike03 on 9/27/13PIEDMONT PARK - Atlanta

For my first full-fledged music festival, these are definitely 2 days I will never forget. Performances were great across the board, most notably, Queens of the Stone Age, for whom I had the privilege of being only 2 rows back from the stage. Day 1 was fairly warm and sunny, while day 2 was a cool and extremely rainy day, which turned Piedmont Park into a absolute mudfest. The only major snag was waiting in line for close to 2 hours that second day due to a convergence of four separate lines into one huge cluster at the side entrance to the park. This unfortunately caused my friends and I to miss performances by The Neighbourhood and Weezer, which was very disappointing. Still, a great festival to call my first, and some unforgettable performances by some of my favorite artists!

Mm was great, so many great bands. It was truly an experience. The downside was their line management was awful!!

I had the best time at Music Midtown! Having the MM13 app with the schedule was the best idea possible to make sure we saw all the shows that we wanted. Everyone was so nice and even though it rained so hard on the second day, that didnt stop us from having fun. The beer and food were pricey but they were happily paid for because it was so worth it!

Overall the concert was great! They really need to figure out their scanner issues if it is going to rain. I was really upset we didn't get to see Weezer cause we were stuck in line for 2 and a half hours.

Every band I was able to get to ROCKED

by nisirojomrm on 9/27/13PIEDMONT PARK - Atlanta

Overall, this was a great experience. Food was great, beer prices sucked (not a surprise at music festival). The shows were great. My only complaint - I really wanted to see Jane's Addiction as well as Cake. I have seen Cake before and they were awesome. I had never seen Jane's before, I have loved them since their 1st album. These 2 bands were scheduled at the SAME time. I had to watch one for a few mins and then LEAVE while they were still playing to go catch the end of the other one. There has to be a better way to schedule the times when bands are to play, so we can watch one complete show then walk WAY back through the port o john crowd, through the trees, and across some field so that we can catch some of the other band we came to see. Other than that, I had a great time. On the second day, the rain SUCKED, but the shows were great.

    Stage presence was fantastic!

    by Beccamr56 on 9/26/13PIEDMONT PARK - Atlanta

The bands all did a great job! The vibe throughout both days was supper upbeat! Everyone was into the music then rushing to see the next band. The only issues I had was the undifined lines to get in to the concert. And the rain!!!! If it weren't for that rain Saturday could have been way more fun! Instead I was quite misrible and cold. We had to buy jackets to wear under our ponchos, while the crazy people were walking about half naked not giving a care! Over all an unforgettable experience! I'll be back next year for sure!

    Bonnaroo is better

by Anonymous on 9/26/13PIEDMONT PARK - Atlanta

Music Midtown gives you a good value for what you pay. $90 (pre-sale) was a steal to see 2 days of great bands like RHCP and Phoenix. The overall festival experience was so-so. Getting into the festival on the second day was horrible. It was raining pretty heavily and I understand there may be an initial difficulty in scanning wet tickets but it still would've been disorganized on a sunny day. We waited in a line for an hour and finally decided to join the mass crowd that continuously walked ahead of us. To all the line skippers’ defense, maybe they didn't know there was a queue since there were no barricades/fencing to organize everyone. The bathroom situation sucked, as well. I do think there were enough porter potties but the locations of them were so confining and resulted in a mess of jumbled lines and a haven for more line skippers. There were a lot of young, inconsiderate and obnoxious people; definitely not the chill, hippy crowd I preferred at Bonnaroo. It’ll take an amazing line-up for me to come back next year.

    Great Lineup!

by LPandMS on 9/26/13PIEDMONT PARK - Atlanta

The lineup and venue was amazing. There needed to be a cleanup crew onsite that was servicing the area, and especially the porta potties. By the end of the night most were unusable. The line to get in the venue was atrocious and something needs to be done to streamline the process at the venue next year. Overall, I went to see amazing bands play and that is what I got!

    Great Lineup!

by RaMaBa on 9/26/13PIEDMONT PARK - Atlanta

Line-up was amazing this year if you love the lesser known bands - Tegan & Sara, Yeah Yeah Yeah, and ARCTIC MONKEYS!!! All put on great shows! Sad I missed Weezer because we waited over an hour in the line to get in. That needs to be improved for next year!

    Music Midtown was fantastic!!

by PamelaSmith on 9/26/13PIEDMONT PARK - Atlanta

This was an unforgettable musical experience! Every band was exceptional and the fans were really in to the experience. Although the weather sucked, it was the most fun music festival I have ever been to! Amazing to have so many top shelf bands in one event!!

Amazing time both days, even despite the rain. I really liked the setup and the addition of the third stage this year. My complaints are that cheaper beers and more porta pottys are needed.

figure out how to fest in the rain!!

    by booyah44 on 9/26/13PIEDMONT PARK - Atlanta

We waited in line for an HOUR just to get in-you knew it was going to rain, how hard is it to figure out a plan to deal with it? THEN- they just let people in wholesale-I know tons of people that got in without paying--so I spend all that money for a ticket and could have just gotten in for free? Bathroom lines are still ridiculously long, as are food lines, and RHCP was really not all that great. Cake and Jane's Addiction were terrible. Journey was karaoke. There is seriously no reason to justify the cost of those tickets and I don't understand why you can't figure out how to run a good fest-go to New Orleans- any festival- and learn from it.

Other than the rain on Saturday I had a GREAT time. I did a lot of shopping with so many great vendors. Food was great. If I forgot to bring something they had a little store with candy, rain boots, rain coats.... This year I had one of be line ups so far!!!!

Imagine Dragons came on and the rain stopped!!!!

by DynamoHumm on 9/26/13Piedmont Park - Atlanta

We came prepared for the rain. the line up was great. The food and drinks were priced like they would be at a movie theater, but we did not come for that. Music was the key element here and every band we saw was great. Imagine Dragons put on an epic show. Best of the day in my opinion. The Neighbourhood opened the day with a fantastic set from a new band. Queens of the Stone Age had a great show as well.
