Too expensive but tons of fun. I really enjoyed the concert

Planning Problems again
by JennKB295 on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5The line to get in Saturday was completely ridiculous. We waited over an hour and missed several bands we wanted to see. Then after finally getting in we of course had to use the restroom and waited ANOTHER 45 minutes to use the restroom. Apparently it wasn't obvious last year that you needed more restrooms. Now it is also apparent you need more entrances. The addition of the 3rd stage was also not great, as several bands we wanted to see at the same time overlapped and we missed bands. I feel like I saw about half of music midtown this year, can I get half my money back?
VIP Experience
by rlaton on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5I'm not going to comment on the weather as that can't be helped. I will say that there wasn't near enough areas of shelter for VIP members though as I've seen at other festivals. I will say that the food and drinks were wonderful, even if there wasn't near enough and they ran out of everything pretty early. The issue there was that there was no warning or anything that they were out, they just disappeared leaving people standing in line wondering if more was to come. The other negative comment is that the viewing area for VIP wasn't very good. I can't understand why there can't be a viewing area in front of the stage for VIP members like in other festivals. VIP area only allowed viewing of the main stage. If you wanted to see another stage, you were forced into the GA areas. This has to change before I'll be willing to spend that kind of money again. A little ridiculous actually. Other than that, everything was pretty great. Music was awesome, sound was good and the staff was very accommodating. Very cordial people all the way around. I only wish the weather would have been better so my wife would've stuck it out for the whole show...but who can help that?

The rain on Saturday only made it more fun! People still came out & huge crowds appeared, still to show support to some amazing bands! I love that Atlanta has done music midtown & other events like this for so many years & I hope they continue it for a long time! Weezer was amazing!!! Karen-O is a goddess. Smiling the whole time watching Tegan & Sara. Queens Of The Stone Age killed it!!!

Even in the pouring rain and ankle deep mud pits, music midtown was AMAZING!!! Tegan and Sara were goddesses, of course. Artic monkeys, imagine dragon, and rhcp made for the best Saturday of my life. Definitely going back next year!
Awesome bands
by Anonymous on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5The bands were amazing. The staff was unorganized. I stood in line for over three hours missing bands. When I got to the front they weren't even checking tickets. I would not go back.

The line took way too long to get in. It seemed that I was standing in one spot for 45 minutes. The food was seemingly festival food... Bad and way too expensive. Beer at $10 a piece is absolutely absurd. More money would have been made if they weren't ridiculously expensive. There were not even close to enough port a johns. I waited in line for 30 minutes during a show that I actually wanted to see.
Great music! Facilities need improvement
by CourtneySue on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5All the bands I saw were great! The lines for the bathroom were at least an hour and the bathrooms were destroyed with trash and other grossness early on in the festival. There was trash everywhere as the trash cans overflowed. Loved that you could go up to the stage to rock out or chill on the grass. Overall a good event but there could be tons of improvements to the facilities.

Way too many people, crowd control was horrible and the staff was unprepared for the elements
Even the rain couldn't ruin Music Midtown 2013!!!
by Mel419 on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5Even though it was raining & freezing & I was definitely unprepared for the weather, music midtown 2013 was absolutely amazing! Every single act was so energetic & really connected with the audience! I loved it! And watching people go down the mud slide was hilarious & a great way to make the best of the weather!
Music Midtown was Amazing!!
by Emconnell42 on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5Every year Music Midtown always out-does themselves!! The bands were exceptional, the crowds were great, and just the overall atmosphere was perfect! I will always love going to Music Midtown!

overcrowded, expensive. a mob of underage intoxicated people. ruined by rain... the park is not designed to handle this type of thing and turned into a mud pit. massive thumbs down.
Every act was Amazing
by Bendahen on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5Everyone played their best sets, weezer and RHCP were my highlights. All of the artists were exciting and awake despite the rain. Will definitely go back next year.
Unbelievably long lines
by SuzyQinGwin on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5Not only did we have to wait 2 1/2 hours to get in, but lines for food, bathroom & everything were incredibly long. They were not prepared for an event with this many people at all. The porta potties were disgusting! There was trash everywhere! Not only was the weather miserable, but the whole Saturday event was too. Never ever ever go to an event like this in Atlanta, they have no idea how to handle that many people. It had nothing to do with them checking backpacks either, I didn't see anyone even ask to look in anyone's bag. I will never attend Music Midtown again!
Music Midtown - GREAT EVENT
by matheusramin on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5Great event, perfect place, awesome bands! The sound was not very good during the Red Hot Chilli Peppers concert. I haven't seen any fights or other problems, but if it had happened, I didn't see any guards or officers.
Great Line up, poor gate keeping
by uga22 on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5Pros: I have to say this was one of the best festival lineups I've been to which was awesome. Cake and Arctic Monkeys put on a great show but all was overshadowed by the Red Hot Chili Peppers who rocked out for 2 hours! Fun atmosphere with good people. Also working staff was respectable and helpful to those who needed it from what I observed. Cons: It took one and a half hours to get through the gates and on Saturday had to stand in pouring rain for that long. The ticket scanners went down so they had to resort to checking everything by hand. Then they just let everyone in because it was going on 2 hours. Not enough trash cans so there was trash everywhere.

The festival was amazing, I have just one complaint, on the Red Hot Chilli Peppers the sound was bad to how was far from the stage, everyone around me was saying to turn it up.
- by Entakg on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5
stages need to be separated more so multiple groups can be playing at one time or at slightly different times. difficult to hear the Red HOt Chili Peppers when another group is still playing.
Good band line up
by 2old4festivals on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5I know that the weather cannot be controlled but there was no management inside the park helping with the mess and congestion a crowd of that size. And yes, weed at a festival is common...but joints being lit up and not even hidden during daylight was amazing. We choose to take our 14 year old because she actually likes those kinds of bands (thank goodness, I couldn't handle a Bieber teenage fan) but pretty sure she got her first contact high from ALL the pot smoke. More control over the hour wait for a porta potty and keeping the walkways clear so we wouldn't have to walk through 6" of mud to get somewhere would have been nice. And people are messy, no consideration for the park, trash everywhere - we should treat our parks nicer.
Lines were crazy
by Jinx111 on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5Line to get in....no excuse. They needed more general admission entrances. Passed three VIP entrances before we could get in. Took over an hour on Saturday. Also bathroom placement was horrible. Very poorly planned. Lines to the toilets were too long. Felt like I missed a lot if the shows cuz of the delays at the bathrooms.
