  • Best Weekend EVER

by Laurasmora on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome music, awesome people, awesome vendors. The rainy weather didn't get anyone down. Music Midtown and Atlanta know how to have a good time. The festival revitalized my faith in music

  • Awesome show

by Anonymous on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

First festival I've been to and it was great. Piedmont Park was a great place to see a show. Only problem was the lines on Saturday. It was pouring rain and we had to wait in line for an hour and a half.

  • The Red Hot Chili Peppers rocked!!!

by Anonymous on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Unbelievable performance by the Red Hot Chili Peppers! Words cannot describe how awesome they were. They had so much energy and they played very well. Simply amazing! Weezer also played an awesome show earlier that day on the same stage. The Artic Monkeys and the Neighborhood also played good shows. Didn't really care for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Red Hot Chili Peppers rocked though. I can't say that enough.

  • Kendrick Lamar - WOW

    by eliza33 on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Music Midtown 2013 was an excellent time. The lineup was great and the people were friendly. The only thing that let me down was the wait to get into the concert! I've been to festivals with 3 times as many people that channeled the people in and out of the entrances/exits way better than they did this year at MM. Other than that, it was incredible - even with the bad weather!

This event would have been amazing if proper planning had been in place. We stood in line for over an hour to be able to enter the park - tickets in hand. Hopefully in the future the event coordinators will recognize the need for more gate workers. Also the lines at the port-a-potties were unreal but that was to be expected. Overall a pretty good experience except the fact that we completely missed a show because of standing in line.

  • logistics need to be worked on

    by jenn67 on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

This is the 3rd straight MM event that my husband and I (and friends) have attended. It seems that the groups attending get larger, the lineup gets weaker and the setup gets user non-friendly. Journey? Red Hot Chili Peppers? Not too impressive after Coldplay and Foo Fighters in years past. The porta-potties are disgusting and not laid out well....not to mention out of paper for us ladies early into the afternoon/evenings. Lastly, if you are going to set up 3 stages - a rather good idea....then remind the artists to quit at a certain time so that the fans are not experiencing a "dueling performance" type event. This 2013 was most likely our last MM event.....unless some amazing headliners show up nest year (KOL, Eminem,etc...). We would rather to stick to the Pit and GA at Phillips, Lakewood and Arena for our insatiable music fix. Take care, Jenn

  • Q.O.T.S.A. a disappointment, but R.H.C.P. ROCKED!!

    by QuiQui13 on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

The weather started out as awful and the initial organization to get in was horrendous, especially due to the rain. They will need more entrances, more OBVIOUS lines, and way more organization when entering the park, especially in case of bad weather. The bands were amazing, however Q.O.T.S.A. lacked energy and was a great disappointment to me, however all the other bands were fantastic. The food variety was great and delicious. Drinks were okay and the venders were good. Overall, it was a great experience and would recommend anyone to go, especially if you love good music, food, drinks, and a fun time. LOVED IT!

Been going to this event for a long long time this is by fare the worst one yet

  • Awesome

    by Price9305 on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

The whole festival had a good vibe even with the rain on Saturday. There was plenty of food, booze, and dirty hippies. There was even some mud sliding going on. All the bands were very energetic and talkative. Journey was my highlight but weezer was a close second. Everyone around Atlanta should definitely check it out. -Matthew Starkville MS

  • Journey rocked the house. Capital cities amazing!!

    by Lklk5 on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

My expectations for Journey was great! capital cities did amazing as well. Kendrick Lamar definitely showed his flare as well. Even though it rained on Saturday event it did not keep me down.

  • Yes sir, may I have another?

Completely great, first time experience and we'll return next year!

  • Music Midtown: worth it.

by NCmuddyboi on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Piedmont Park was an excellent location for this event. Even when it rained all afternoon Saturday it didn't take away from the fun (for my friends and me at least, the same probably can't be said for other people). Awesome lineup, I would have paid more than the early bird price (with fees came out to about $105) to see the bands they brought in. Bravo, Midtown! Bravo, Atlanta!

  • Worth it - even in the rain!

by GoKTGo on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I'm so glad I bought the two day pass even though it rained - it was a great line-up and great experience overall.

Only went on Saturday as the combination of bands and scheduling on Friday made that day a little less attractive. Saturday was awesome. There were a couple of downers: the VIP section seemed lame compared to last year, and the rain. Can't really complain too much about the rain...except that it seemed like we were destroying Piedmont Park. OTOH, I went for the music and it was fantastic. I won't comment on Friday's lineup as I wasn't there...other than to say it was somewhat disappointing compared to last year's Friday lineup.

  • by Anonymous on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Friday was great except for when the bands overlapped. You can't do anything about the rain and Saturday mudpit or port a potties situation but having only 2 entrances and bands overlapping for nearly 20 mins really put a damper on things. The closing act was RHCP and we couldn't hear their opening bc it was overpowered by the Queens. Then the sound was horrible for that stage. Everyone around us wished they stopped the show to switch stages. If they could get the logistics right it would have been an awesome event.

  • Awesome first time!

    by combatwolf13 on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I had never gone to any live music show before, so seeing a lot of bands I love playing live was an unforgettable experience. I'm definitely going back next year!

  • Rain: makes tickets useless

by JLDW on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

It rained. This could not be helped or controlled and is part of the concert experience. Unfortunately, rain rendered our tickets useless to the security scanners at the gate. Therefore, we stood in line, in the rain, for two hours as we listened to the concert go on without us. After the multitudes of us there missed Weezer, which is one the main reasons that I went, the crowd started to chant, "Let Us In! Maybe out of fear of a riot, security had us hold up our tickets and allowed us to enter. Too little too late. Really, in 2013 no one has a plan to counter rainfall at a concert? We had all paid good money to see this concert and missing major acts due to a technical error is ridiculous. Officially broke me of returning to Music Midtown. At least Imagine Dragons and QOTSA were both great.

  • Killer!

    by midnightblue514 on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

LOVED this festival! A ton of awesome bands who killed it on stage! YEAH!

  • by Anonymous on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Need to have electronic tickets available...Rain sucked...sets not as long as hoped...stage in the oaks- great concept but poorly implemented...
