Good line-up of artists, and the amount of vendors worked out well. Restroom situation was the worst I've ever experienced at a concert or festival.

Great music-horrific line to get in
by MeganUGA on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5Extremely disappointed in the line to get in Saturday. Stood in pouring rain for over two hours and missed some great bands. The scanners weren't working properly in the rain, but the forecast gave plenty of warning to prepare for this type of setback. It was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable for an event of this capacity. I would expect much more efficiency.
a plethora of emos were experienced
by gottalovethehaters on 9/24/13Music Midtown - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5ok, so the highly anticipated music midtown ended up being nothing what I expected. here's a fun fact: treacherous weather conditions plus very few shelters to congregate under makes for pissy angry people, including the company that I accompanied. the super long wait at the gate on Saturday also added to previously noted aggravation. i'm a pretty happy go lucky little mama, so when every shred of my being was tested due to conditions that I could not control (i.e. the weather), the end result was me fantasizing about the peeps with me getting mud trampled during the influx of people herds thundering towards the stage where the RHCP were due to play in 2 hours. alas, no one died, nor was trampled, and the music line up and the overall vibe of the majority of those around us lifted my spirits. Thank God for good music man. Or else I would have killed some beeyaz! Phoenix, Cake, RHCP, Weezer, QOTSA, and Imagine Dragons kicked so much ass, that at the end of each set, I was that much closer to attaining true bliss. thank you for booking the best bands ever, MM people! and to the beeyaz that came with. Here's to hoping that the anger management classes that we all secretly want you to enroll in stat will do you a little bit of good. the take home? some people just ain't festival people. but MM is a great festival. at least overall this past year it was. :D
Man did it rain!
by concertgoer46 on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5Pros: Easy access to venue. Great bands. Able to go back to vehicle if needed. Cons: It poured, and the place became a mud hole. Need more food stations. Believe it or not, 300 port a pots is not enough. Backpacks. They need to totally ban these. We are there for the concert, not to run away from home. Umbrellas. Ban. Stopped raining during Imagine Dragons. Great set. That stage is better than the one the RHCP were on. The ground in front of the Peppers is flat and it's hard to see the stage if you are close. Stage needed about 3-5 ft in height. Cool shops and art work. Ferris wheel. would like to go back when the weather is nice.

Music was fantastic. But the amount of portable restrooms didnt coincide with the amount of patrons in the event. No where near enough. The gates were poorly manned and not prepared for the mass of people coming in. Waited for 2 hours JUST to get my ticket scanned and ended up entering the festival WITHOUT getting my tickets scanned in. Everyone bum rushed the gates and overwhelmed the crew. I won't be back unless the employee to patron ratio is much higher. Such a huge difference from the 2012 event. None of the above problems existed then.
Do you like standing in 30 minute bathroom lines??
by Schlee on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5I was very excited about heading out to music midtown for the first time. The line up was awesome, it SEEMED very well planned out with 3 full stages, and lots of green space. I bought tickets for Friday and Saturday night. I was so miserable Friday night I sold my ticket for Saturday. First of all, literally 200 bathrooms for 100,000 people. I seriously spent 20-30 minutes waiting in the porta potty lines. How do they expect to sell these 24 ounce beers and not have enough restroom facilities?! Beer is $8-10, mixed drinks are $10-12, seriously?? A slice of pizza was $5. Not enough vendors either, lines for beer and food were super long. By the time Journey came on at 9 PM the green space was so jammed full of people there was literally no space to enjoy the music so we left. Will not return next year, poorly planned!!!

Queens of the Stone Age deserved a MUCH longer set than an hour. Regardless, I think it's safe to say they put on the best show.

It was absolutely amazing, a must do in atlanta. I recommend to all.
The Arctic Monkeys Were Awesome
by Cohesion on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5Overall the event was very good. Plenty of great acts. Getting in the second day took over an hour. Missed Weezer because we couldn't get in. There were multiple acts playing at the same time that I wanted to see. I'd like to see that sorted out next year. Maybe have a rap and rock act overlap so people with different musical interests will have something to see rather than having bands with similar musical styles that someone might be interested in seeing both.
Awful experience
by Anonymous on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5This concert was the most unorganized I've ever attended in music midtown history. The line to get in 45 minutes prior to opening stretched in the thousands. Eight event staff were handling the duties of an entire gate, searching packs, and scanning tickets. It took close to two hours to get through the line, and we missed the entire show we arrived 45 minutes early to see. This is indicative of the total failure with this year's music midtown of something so basic to custom service as expediting event entry. Awful experience this year, doubtful I will return in the future.
bad
by kaptel49 on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5i waited almost 2 hours in line just to enter the park. i missed bands i wanted to see. the lines for food and bathrooms were terrible. people were urinating out in public because they couldn't wait in line. the bands were good. However, the event as a whole was extremely disappointing. honestly i may never go back if they don't get better organization. the only reason i didnt go home was because i spent $85 dollars on the ticket.
I got to see so many of my favorite acts!
by juliar159 on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5Despite the rain, it was still one of the best concert experiences Ive had, I got to see so many amazing bangs from Arctic Monkeys to Weezer to Red Hot Chili Peppers. The rain and mud definitely made it a different experience but everyone made the best of the weather and still had fun.

This was my first multi-day festival and it was fantastic. The line-up was great and the venue was too (albeit a bit wet and muddy on Saturday). Top five acts: Mowgli's Weezer Queens of the Stone Age ZZ Ward Red Hot Chili Peppers Would definitely go back again!
Music midtown
by Anonymous on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5Bands were excellent. They need a better system for festival entry. I waited over an hour. They also need more restrooms. I waited 30 minutes for one. Lots of time lost due to waiting in lines!
What a great time
by PiATL on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5Despite the weather on Saturday (I brought an umbrella, poncho, and wore rain boots), the bands were amazing. What a great line up – I hope you can repeat this next year. And to the naysayers about the park – mud pit whatever – it will grow back. The grass is the type that will grow back quickly. So don’t move it – I haven’t been to a MTMF since it was last held at the Federal Reserve Building spot. So glad you moved it to the park a few years ago – keep it up. Loved Red Hot Chili Peppers, Imagine Dragons, Queens of the Stone Age, Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, DrivinN Cryin, Mowglis, The Neighborhood, Tegan and Sara and Journey - Disappointed in Cake's audience- folks were too zoned out See you next year
Great bands, subpar facilities
by Asantesana on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5Music Midtown was really fun and showcased some great bands. It's a great setting for a music festival. But while there were a ton of beer tents (never a line to get beer), there were way too few porta-potties and too few food options. There was usually at least a 30 minute wait to go to the bathroom or get food. Some of the food tents were already out of food before 8 pm on Saturday. Also, while I realize it is difficult to cope with the influx of such a high volume of people, the lines to get into the concert on saturday were well over an hour for some people. I drove to Atlanta from Charleston for the festival and would do it again if they had another great lineup, but I sure hope the organizers do a better job next year with food and toilets. They know how many tickets are sold, so there really is no excuse for not being better prepared. No one wants to miss a band because they had to wait 40 minutes to go to the bathroom. Plus, that just encouraged men to find a spot to pee in the grass, and that just gets annoying and gross.
Red hot chili peppers sound
by Ticketcustomer on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5My boyfriend and I got. 2 day passes to music midtown, it was a blast until our favorite band, the red hot chili peppers, went on and the sound was terrible! It was not nearly loud enough and the mics and speakers kept going out. Very disappointed to say the least! The worst part is the concert would have been awesome because they played all of their hits!
Awesome
by Benwaballs on 9/24/13PIEDMONT PARK - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5Great show. Beer was outragious. Misic sounded great, but too many simular acts olayes at the same time. Journey was LAME!!!!!!! NEEDED A BETTER HEADLINER! Janes or YYYs would have been great in that spot.

Took almost an hour to get in. Spent 25% of time waiting in line to use portable toilets only to have them in a deplorable condition. Overpriced everything. Long lines for everything. Completely over sold event. No signage for anything. An absolute waste of money. Will never, under any circumstances, attend another. It was obvious this was a pure money grab by Live Nation and they could have cared less about the patrons.
