Great costumes, dancing and sound. The performers were solid.
The story was fine, but nothing new. Watching in a language that I didn't know was great, but the translations were way off to the side where you had to really take your view far from the stage. In addition, the translations rolled up the screen and you could see future text well in advance of when it was actually spoken. There was no translation during the songs and I feel that would have been helpful.
Very long and drawn out. The entire first act (1 hr & 15 min) was described on the back of the program in about 5 sentences. Speaking of the program, there was nothing inside that told what to expect for timing of the Acts, intermission, etc.
The stage was well done as they switched from scene to scene.
The dialogue was a bit dull. Straight & to the point. Almost no dialogue was humorous or clever. Less than 5 times did the audience chuckle in the 2.5 hour performance.
I didn't expect Bollywood, but additional action & humor would have helped. Instead I kept looking at my watch wondering how much longer this was going to be (and it was very long).
I'd recommend it to anyone who is a regular show goer, but not to someone looking for a special night out. It was above market value as far as ticket prices, in my opinion.
